Clean, easy to park and get into room. The walk to the beach was a bit far and hard to walk. A boardwalk would be great at least partially out. It was a chilly week and a heated pool would have been great. Next visit a heated pool will be a must in the description in order for me to stay. The condo itself was very nice and well decorated. It would be nice to have a few beach chairs under the bed for renters to use. Also a few board games, card games would be great for rainy days.

A little misleading, but an okay stay
I did not do enough research before booking. I was sold at first floor and close to beach, and thought it would be great. We pull up, half the building is under construction, they have temporary reinforcement beams on most every condo unit. The inside of the condo was absolutely beautiful and the art work is amazing. The dishwasher is missing parts so you can't pull out the top rack without it falling out. You walk out on the public beach access, which just know was a hell of a hike, just to find out it's private owned and you can only set up camp behind their chairs and umbrellas. If you want to see lots of charter boats, this is your spot. If you're coming for the beach, book somewhere else.

Actually booked a stay there because pics looked good and we are in the market to buy a condo — was thinking this one was on the short list. — not even close
Location to beach is horrible
The poolside condo is lovely. It was safe, clean, and had easy access to everything. It is an easy walk to beautiful beaches. The pool is steps away. You can sit on the back porch and see the ocean in the morning. The condo has everything you need. I think the location is perfect. The only negative was the walls are thin so the people upstairs were very loud and the kids were running back and forth and you could hear loud thumping for long periods of time as they ran around. Hopefully no one else will have loud neighbors. Other than that, it was a very nice condo and I would book again.
This location really is a gem because it is located at the Jetty’s which is where all the boat tours bring customers to snorkel. HOWEVER!!! If you look at google map satellite for this spot, you’ll see a ton of sand dunes with no mats or wood to walk on that have to be crossed to access it, which my 70yo mother could not climb. Then when you reach the beach, you quickly find out that it’s PRIVATELY RENTED BY THE Emerald GRAND Co. (this rental is with Emerald COAST, not the same) who does the boat tours. So you have to then hike all the way to the edge of that chunk of beach if you want to set up camp. Once you do, you have to deal with 4-5 giant boats at a time docking in that water to unload 25-40 people each for their “excursion” which looks like you trying to swim/walk in the water and constantly tripping over ropes and anchor tethers. If you can deal with all that, the water & sea life are unlike any I’ve seen in 30 years of my Destin/Seaside/Watercolor/Grayton/Rosemary/Miramar Beaching. But the ocean access description here was a big disappointment, likely fueled by competition and money from what I gathered after talking to various employees.
Pros- My family really enjoyed our stay. We loved the condo (although pictures make it appear larger- we still had plenty of room) and we loved the pool (right out the back door - BIG plus). It is an easy drive to Winn Dixie and Target. Check in was super easy. My kids loved how the pool changed colors at night. The beach itself is wonderful- fish everywhere, boats, and it’s in a cove like area so no big waves- perfect for snorkeling and small kids - we stayed to the side of the condo umbrellas from emerald grand (I think). There was a keurig and regular coffee pot, plenty of bath towels, big fridge, all the kitchen supplies needed. Wi-Fi is included. People were fishing near the jetties- although that is a walk but doable. The ocean was breathtakingly clear.
Cons- The freezer ice maker didn’t work at all- never made ice and I don’t think the freezer worked as well as it should have as our popsicles (pop-ice) never froze and ice cream melted but we made it work. Just be prepared to buy ice. Sheets need updating- these we’re very rough with pilling and felt like sand in the bed. As others have said, the walk to the beach is tough but doable. We did go to Henderson State Park beach and it was an easy walk as my mother with horrible knees couldn’t do “our” beach. But of course that is not the condo’s fault.
Overall- I think I would stay here again unless my mother comes and then we would have to find somewhere with easier beach access
We loved our stay! This cozy condo has an amazing location very close to everything. It was immaculate and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pool area was nice and there were bbq grills we used quite often. The pathway behind the building has a short easy walk to the beach. The building itself is small and has under 20 units so it had a very intimate feel which we absolutely loved. We will definitely stay here again!
My trip to Destin was pretty nice was a little disappointed with the odor when we first came into the condo smelled a little musty the floors were dirty and there was a lot of dust on the light fixture over the kitchen table also the doors where the washer and dryer were the more dusty and the chairs look like they were quite worn in soil from people sitting in the living room but overall the place was very nice the towels in the linens were nice the beds were comfortable the icemaker was not working and there were ants in the apartment but the people were very cooperative and tried to get people in to fix things quickly and then the fact that the beach was not really for us it was for people at the emerald grand resort but that’s about it and the pool is very small for the size of the actual condo
This is a great quite place to stay. The rooms and property are very well taken care of. It's a walk to the beach and pretty crowded with all the people that are brought in from somewhere else. The public beach at the point is a better place to go to enjoy and calm beach atmosphere.
Off the beaten path of Destin… but close enough to get to the excitement. Beautiful beach. Water like glass and sand like sugar. Condo was clean and secure. Plenty of towels. We took sheets to make slip covers for the couch and recliners. Perfect spot for our vacation.
Our stay was amazing! The picture of the condo was exactly what we got. It was beautiful. The pool area was very nice as well. I couldn't keep my 9 yr old out of it. The beach was just a short distance away but the walk was nice. The complimentary tickets was definitely a perk. I saved money. All in all, I would stay here again!.
We selected this condo based off the title stating beachfront and the pictures of what appears to be a very clean condo. Check-in process was simple. A few days before our trip, we were sent an email with gate code and door code. When we arrived and opened the door, it wasn’t the fresh smell of a clean condo I’m used to from past condo rentals in the Destin area. It was more of an almost musty smell. Getting in a little late, we just put cold stuff in the fridge and went to bed. The beds are very comfortable, but we did have to get the extra pillows out of the closet since the ones on the bed were a little flat for our liking. We get up the next day thinking we were going to enjoy our beachfront condo and decided to walk down the dunes ( as stated in the description) to the beach. We go out the back gate which we assumed was for our beach access. We followed other people out the same gate and all the footprints in the sand leading from the back gate. After a small hike down the dunes, we sat our towels down and proceeded to the water only to be stopped by a guy wearing a blue shirt that had “staff” on the back. He had informed us that we are not supposed to be on the beach and that we were trespassing on the beach. We explained where we were staying and he stated again, all condos behind the beach are trespassing on the beach. That ruined our day since now we couldn’t play on the beach outside of our beachfront condo. I’m not sure where the confusion is, but I feel like the description needs to be more clear about beachfront property if we are not allowed to have access to the beach outside the back gate of this condo. I feel like the title of this condo is misleading. Really bummed that I now had to go drive around and find public beach access to enjoy the beach on our vacation.
This was a nice little place to stay for the price! There are some issues I ran into with no help from the property management. One of the dining chairs was completely broken and ripped my brand new $80 pants… I called the property management number and never received a call back. Other mild issue is in the bathroom the paint is peeling off the wall (it just looks bad.) being on the first floor is super nice and the pool is steps away. The beach is a hike when carrying tons of stuff. But, if you’re somewhat in shape you won’t have an issue.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Poolside Villas! Very clean, quiet place. You do have to walk a ways to get to the beach but that’s not something the property managers can fix. Just an advisement if you have elderly or disabled persons in your party.

Crab Island Getaway
The property was nicely decorated. Looks like the photos in the listing, however the carpet and furniture were very dirty and we actually put sheets over them to sit down. They need to be replaced.. Also many knobs on the existing cabinets would fall off which made it difficult to open drawers. The ceiling fan was missing a blade and wobbled terrible. With this being said, the maintenance and cleaning crews responded quickly to rectify the situation. I believe that the owners do not take pride in the rental property and it needs some attention to make a nice experience for renters in the future.
As for the location it was great!!! 10 minutes to walk to the beach, Beautiful white sand and blue water.
Short walk over the dunes and you have a beautiful harbor where you can watch the sunrise/sunset, snorkel, paddleboard, or simply sit and relax. Take a quick 10 minute car ride to Princess Beach, absolutely stunning beach and it's open to the public but not crowded at all. Amazing trip!
This is our second stay at this property. We love the calming, pastel oceanic colors of the unit as well as the size. It’s perfect for our family of 4. We also like the ground level location which is only a few steps from the pool and sand. Today was our last day and we already miss it!

Poor communication
This property is lovely. That being said the communication with the management company was ridiculous. Our freezer went out on day one so I called and left a message on Sunday afternoon. I still hadn’t heard from them by Monday afternoon, and all of my frozen food was now ruined. I called them back on Monday with a response that they are not required to call me nor are they required to let me know when they will “let themselves” in to fix the problem. The air conditioner was set at 72 and was never under 75 in the condo but I didn’t want to call the management company because they were such jerks when I called about the freezer. I did reach out to the host but he never responded to my email. The location was great, the beach was so beautiful and the locals were wonderful. The management company defines needs some work.
There was a strong mildew smell the first couple of days and the hike to beach was tiring. But the pool access from our patio was great and overall the stay was perfect.
We had a great trip. Booking the condo was easy and secure. Excellent communication with property manager for any questions I had. There was even an issue with the units washer and dryer prior to our arrival and they worked hard to make sure it was replaced with a few days of us arriving. Area is safe, Beach is nice and not overly crowded and the pool was nice with adequate seating for all the families. Loved the grills and picnic tables also. This unit in my opinion was also in the best location for the property. It was first floor, right out to the pool, beautiful view, steps from the beach. We would come back again!
