I retired from US military (career) after having served peacetime in the U.S. and Germany and wartime in Vietnam. I am a writer (pen name Richard Morgan Szybist) with. several published books focused on cultural/natural regional history. I am married, physically active (running, weights, etc.)

I developed this property for cultural tourism and for personal rejuvenation and well-being. The apartment is one of several built to provide lodging for those interested in cultural tourism. As a free amenity, I can put you in direct contact with Mayan artists, artisans, and shamans.

What makes this property unique

In a quiet, friendly neighborhood. with a small grocery store next door and other nearby stores and restaurants. There is a large chain super market 3 blocks away. Downtown and the best lake swimmimg beach are a 15-minute walk (in different directions). The apartment is built in a clean, functional style.with locally hand-made wood furnishings. Limited housekeeping and child care services are available at very reasonable extra charges. Our unique medicinal and culinary plant garden is available to guests for food preparation and healthcare. The medicinal plant collection is the most varied in the Lake basin,. We are located close to an accessible private school for all grades.
