We loved being able to sit on our deck right on the beach. We could watch family play in the water and sand from the deck, or just step off the deck and be on the beach in a few steps.
The location is great. You are right on the beach in a duplex with a huge deck. 2 stories with 2 bedrooms upstairs with a jack and jill full bathroom and 2 bedrooms downstairs with a full bath for the whole floor. There's a deck on the upper floor but with zero shade. The huge deck means less living space inside. It's one "open concept" great room and for the number of people in the house, it's crowded. The table isn't big enough for the number of people the beds in the house accommodates and the kitchen is hard for more than one person to work in. The house itself could use a deep clean but it was acceptable. There are little things that need addressing - not nearly enough towel hooks, needs bigger dressers, paint touch ups, no shower curtain liners, squeaky doors. The nob on the downstairs shower is reversed so what reads as hot water is actually cold. The upstairs sink needs to be remounted to the wall. The shared laundry room reveals the actual age of the house. It's very musty in there but the clothes came out smelling fine. The house was cool enough (and we like it cold) but was often stuffy. We bought a standing fan and that helped a lot. And the mattresses are truly awful. So incredibly hard. We had to buy a mattress topper and that made it bearable.
The kitchen sink did have a leak down below. Management responded appropriately. The repair person who arrived was unmasked. We asked if he was vaccinated and he said no. We asked him to mask up before entering the house and he did. But we shouldn't have had to ask in the first place. I found that pretty offensive, selfish, and unprofessional.
The beach was great for our kids to play at but the waves themselves were pretty rough. We didn't go in past our knees. The flags all week were red or yellow, so that may have been why. Lots of periwinkles. Not a whole lot of impressive shell collecting. But a nice beach for walking. Not too crowded but definitely full of people. I didn't get one mosquito bite which is very atypical for me, so that was great.
Ultimately, a house I wouldn't mind staying at again but probably not my first choice.
