About this property

Sol Duc Den- East · Sol Duc Den-East, A tiny cabin with big adventures

Welcome to the Sol Duc Den! This tiny cabin in the woods is the ideal base camp to your local adventures. Located just minutes from the town of Forks, and the Sol Duc River, this is a prime location for all.

Wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee on the covered front porch, enjoy an evening with friends at the fire pit, or cuddle up in the cabin over a book.

More about the inside space: Inside the cabin holds 3-4 guests comfortably. Included is a kitchen, common area, and loft. There are three beds, two twin mattresses in the loft and a full bed downstairs doubled as a couch. There is a kitchen supplied with the basic salt, pepper, spices, oil, coffee, creamer, and sugar. We provide all needed pots and pans for cooking a meal. Including a 2 burner stove, a counter top oven, coffee maker, mini fridge, dishes and silverware. We also have an inside boot dryer to make sure your feet are warm and dry for your next day adventures!

More about the outside space: Outside the Sol Duc Den we provide designated guest parking, covered porch seating and a fire pit. We ask that you bring your own bundle of fire wood, however we do have additional "wet" firewood available for use once your fire is started.

More about the location: Our location is only a 2 minute drive to the Whitcomb Diimmel/ Sol Duc boat launch, a 5 minute drive to the heart of downtown Forks, 25 minutes to Hoh River, 20 minutes from La Push, a 40 minute drive to Lake Crescent, and an hour to Port Angeles!

Why this location and property? This property and cabin is particularly special to myself and the owner Ryan. We both grew up on the North Olympic Peninsula and have traveled to Forks for our entire life’s. Both partaking in various activities the area has to offer. Portions of the homes, landscaping and all were built by the owner himself. He even carved the wood furniture at the fire pit! You are sure to feel the love, and hard work he has put into this property to make you have the best experience possible.

They will have access to the whole cabin, the outdoor fire pit, and the shared grass area.

We will be available by phone or message 24/7 so please don't hesitate to ask any questions. This home provides self check-in. All property & guest guidebook info is available on the airbnb app.

The cabin has privacy, but is situated on the same property as another cabin and neighbor to other homes. Our neighbors are very friendly! You are sure to hear the birds chirping, see squirrels, rabbits, elk, deer, sasquatch and other wildlife that roam the area!

P.s. If you didn't know already, Forks is famous for the book and movie series "Twilight."

We recommend that you have your own transportation. We do have bus stops but they are few and far between!

World class Salmon and Steelhead guided fishing trips can be arranged. Please contact me to book an unforgettable experience!

There is another cabin on the premises so please be sure to respect the other guests. Maybe even make new friends :)

Great Spot for a Twilight Trip
Super cute and comfortable cabin! The kitchen is well stocked. I slept so well here. Great location close to activities in town and in nature. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning. Would absolutely come here again. Thank you so much!

Lovely little cabin!
What a lovely little cabin this is! And despite the size, it is so complete and well equipped! A delight to stay here, we really felt we were in the woods, yet you are in Forks in minutes. Great place to go visit the highlights of the Olympics. Also, and this is very important to me: the place was so clean! The only feedback I would give is to have some extra/warmer blankets available, at least in the colder season. We came after staying in a well insulated hotel in Seattle so it was a bit of a transfer in the nights (I didn’t dare to leave the heater on). Or maybe suggest people bring warm nightwear (for clueless tourists like us 😉).

Tiny house
My granddaughter loves tiny houses so this was the perfect get away for us while we explored the Hoh rainforest and the NW point of Washington. The place was so well maintained and clean. I will definitely book again.

Tiny house on a gorgeous big lot
This was a real tiny house experience. We were impressed by the complete bathroom and kitchen. The beds were comfortable. The outside space was gorgeous- landscaping that doubles as art and surrounded by regrow the from a clear cut from 10 years ago. We appreciated that the house was close to town, not too close.

Cute and clean tiny cabin
Our family, including two 14 year olds, stayed 2 nights and enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was clean and well equipped for a short visit. Nice fire pit behind the cabin. Only complaint was the plastic outdoor chairs were both broken.

Quaint & compact!
We only overnighted one night while on a motorcycle tour around the peninsula. The cabin was the perfect accomodation. Very private and secluded, no road noise or disturbances. Would certainly recommend to others and visit again!

Cute and tiny
I love this tiny cabin. It's adorable. As a previous review stated, the shower is a problem. The water shoots straight toward the curtain onto the floor. I'd read that review prior so held the inner plastic curtain to cover the best I could, it helped, but the floor still got wet. There was still no salt as mentioned in previous review. I washed the salt shaker and left it in the clean dish drainer, and the loft doesn't have enough headspace. A microwave would be helpful. We saw deer and the best display of stars! Location is very convenient to local attractions. I would rent this cabin again. The price is fair. Thank you!

Summer Stay
Pros - location and check-in/check-out process were great! Cons - ANTS. SO MANY ANTS. Without exaggeration, I bet my partner and I killed at least 60 during our short stay. These were ginormous ants and made the experience memorable in the wrong way. Outside of the ants the property was clean, but we felt we had to sit outside just to get away from them.

Cute
The cabin is extremely cute. However, there were a few things that bothered us about our stay there. First, there were ants crawling around the cabin walls, floors, tables, beds, etc. and there were also other flying bugs. We were nervous to sleep without being crawled on by the huge ants. Second, we weren't sure if the water was drinkable and the host did not respond after multiple attempts to reach them via the phone number provided. They did end up responding on Vrbo the day after. I asked if there were extra towels because there weren't any in the closet as the instructions had specified, and the host said no and that there was no way to get extra towels. The unfortunate thing was that whenever the shower was on it would leak out from underneath into the toilet area so we had to use all of the towels to prevent the whole house from flooding when we showered. It was kind of a struggle and we had sopping wet towels because the shower was leaking so badly. The host did they that they wondered if the towels were in the dryer, but then I asked where the dryer is/if it's nearby they did not respond again. The bed sheets, pillows, and blankets smelled really strong like shampoo or something super scented and perfumey (not in a good way) which made us unsure if they were clean or not. Also, the listing says there are cooking basics, which there are the basic utensils, pots and pans, oil, sugar, etc. But there was no salt and pepper(unless I wasn't able to find it) which I think is a basic but we managed without it. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay. We just wished we could have had towels.

Cabin in the woods
Sweet little cabin in the woods. Two twin beds upstairs in the loft climbing a ladder. Downstairs has a futon. Perfect amount of space for two small kids and two adults. Beautiful outside area for the kids to run and play. Grounds were beautifully kept and the home was clean. Very quiet and serine location but still minutes to town. Overall a great place to stay to explore Forks.

Cozy + Toasty + Cute
This cabin could not have been more perfect for our sister trip to Olympic National park. Great proximity to Rialto, Hoh, port angeles but still tucked away in the woods. The rain hitting the cabin roof was such a peaceful way to wake up in the mornings. Cabin was also stocked!! Great cookware and bathroom toiletries. There was even some s’mores supplies in the cabinet. Beds and futon were comfy (allbeit you do have to climb the ladder to the beds) but that’s all part of the charm of a tiny cabin. Still plenty of room to move around once you’re in the loft area. The host did a great job of making this cabin Washington weather ready: the front porch stays dry when it rains, there’s a boot warmer/dryer, and even tea packets ready to go. It was too rainy during our stay but the fire pit is right by the cabin and looked great. Overall such a charming, clean, cozy, fun cottage to stay in. Highly highly recommend :)

Overpowering scents...
When I first drove up to this property, I was shocked by how small the little cabin was. I'd consider it to be a "tiny house", and I felt very cramped staying there with my sister. The loft we slept in was only fine for a very small person. I am 5'4", and 125 lbs, but even I could not sit on the floor between the two beds without craning my neck. But I guess that was fine. What really bothered me was the scents from all the products used in the house. The laundry soap that was used to clean the linens was particularly overwhelming. I would suggest switching all the chemicals to fragrance-free versions, so that people with sensitivities like me can enjoy their stay. I could barely sleep...it was that bad. I will say the fire pit was LOVELY. And the place was in shipshape. There is obviously a lot of pride going into this place. The heater worked pretty well too, which was nice since I was there during the winter. I just didn't feel it was worth what they charged per night. They made me buy short term rental insurance, with was an additional fee. Even without that, it was not worth the base rate per night.

I prefer to stay in this kind of property during travels. These are two twin cabins just off a side road outside of Forks. Do be aware that the ceiling height in the loft is low (you can't sit up), which may affect those with limited mobility.
