Clean, cozy, quiet cabin on a gentle slope with a great view of Greer Valley. The wrap around porch is perfect for relaxing. Four bedrooms and two baths is plenty of space for family. Electric baseboard heat in each room gives occupant individual control - very nice. On a quiet county road with plenty of nearby hiking trails. Nice value for the $$. Will rent again.
Great location with a beautiful view of a valley meadow. The house was very clean and very well maintained. The beds and pillows could have been more comfortable, but all-in-all my whole family was comfortable and enjoyed our stay.
We had a fantastic time staying in Greer and the cabin was located on the less populated side of the river. The cabin was rustic, but it also had all the necessities like a stocked kitchen and heat in each room. The wrap around patio was nice but the privacy was lacking. WiFi is spotty here in the mountains so don't bring a lot of devices to connect. You have electric, heat, cable tv and a fireplace. You don't need much else.
The cabin was wonderful n the scenery was beautiful. Every thing was accommodating. All you needed to bring was your clothes n food. Will like to go back.
Our family had plenty of room for those private moments to refresh our minds, we were surrounded with green trees, the sounds of a creek, visions of deer, humming birds and the sound of an afternoon shower on the metal roof. The large porch was a beautiful peaceful place for a morning cup of coffee.
The location of East Fork Cabins is awesome. It is so peaceful and quiet. We hiked everyday (walked the road right outside the cabin). It is beautiful and the weather was amazing (a great reprieve from the Valley heat). The cabin is perfect for a large family. The wrap around porch is the highlight. We had coffee out there every morning and cocktails every evening. Harriot lives close to the cabin and was there for us if we needed anything at all. The owner’s son lived close by and offered any support if we needed it.
Make certain to visit Rendezvous Café on Main St. We went there three times. The food (and mimosas on Sunday) was fantastic!
Nice house very comfortable. Very close to the lakes. Loved going for walks in the morning. My grandkids loved going for ice cream every day. Only would have liked the houses to be further from each other. Weather was nice even when it rained we were able to set under the porch. 😊
What an awesome cabin. We enjoyed everything about it. The cabin is off the beaten path and very quiet. We enjoyed spending time out on the wrap around porch watching the deer, birds and squirrels. We enjoyed how dark the cabin stayed during the heat of the day and kept it very cool. The cabin was very spacious and comfortable. Felt like home. We definitely will be back.
The cabin was clean and well stocked with a beautiful view from the wrap around patio. We used the bbq and the fireplace, both worked well. Lots of wildlife nearby. We got to see deer, rabbits, squirrels, etc. The management was helpful and responded quickly to the questions we had. We all had a great time!
Only small negative is the tire swing and seated swing weren’t there as pictured. Not a big deal but just a heads up for parents with kids who might be disappointed.
It was more than what we expected! The location was just what we were looking for.
Couldn’t ask for anything more. The picture doesn’t do it justice! This was a very beautiful place. We came up to visit the area my son who had passed last year.
This cabin was close by the area and made it just right for us to be with my son and enjoy the weekend.
We had a enjoyable stay watching thunderstorms and fishing. Lots of relaxing on the wrap around porch and hoping some wildlife would appear but not this trip. The rental was as pictured but could increase wattage on their light as was a bit dim but overall we had an excellent experience.
Enjoyable retreat, all the amenities we could ask for. Quiet and relaxing area with friendly neighbors. Our communication was superior in comparison to others we've had. The property manager was excellent in making sure we had all the information necessary and answered promptly. Our grandson enjoyed the close proximity to fishing, hiking, and lots of wildlife viewing. We would recommend this property for long weekends and getaways.
We had such a great time in Cabin 3. The property was well kept and the views were excellent! The cabin was very nice and clean! The cabin had all the amenities we needed! A wonderful time was had by the whole family and Harriet and Shelly were terrific! We are planning on making this a yearly trip!
My wife and I normally travel for our anniversary and reserve our Annual Greer Trip for October. I've never stayed on the east side of the river and was a little apprehensive at first, but the quietness and remoteness of the property I consider a major plus. We went to the west side of the river and it was extremely crowded and noisy with the holiday weekend traffic. I originally booked the property form my wife and I plus are inlaws, but with the covid outbreak made the decision to go by ourselves. A few thinks to note about the property. 1) the wrap around porch is a major plus and great from a little afternoon R&R. 2) Lighting inside the cabin is a little low with the current use of CFL lighting vs. Incandescent or LED. 3) the stairs are a little steep, but would be great for kids or younger adults. 4) Bring your own knives and specialty items (Potato Peeler) along with spices.
My wife thought the cabin was a little rustic when we arrived, but after 4 night it grew on both of us and we had an a absolutely relaxing time. Seeing deer in the yard and on walks almost every day helped in my break away from the challenges of the city and work.
My fishing buddies had a fantastic time at the cabin. Plenty of room for up to 6 guests. We will stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Harriet Barker
My grandparents, Clare and Bill Schnaufer were true Arizonans. They were both born in Tucson in the 1920s. Grandpa Bill survived WWII and the Battle of the Bulge and after the war he and Grandma Clare discovered Greer. They developed a love for Greer, the area, and this beautiful location and shared it with our family. They found the place they loved by the East Fork of the Little Colorado River among the aspen and pine trees. Now I share it with my family who have grown to love it too. Our new large family home is a modern cabin that still has that wonderful cozy mountain feel.
Why they chose this property
They built the rental cabins and enjoyed the wonderful relationships they made with their guests who still return to this special location near the river. Can't beat the location of the quiet side of Greer! We are situated near the river in aspen and pine trees. Even a large meadow and tree swing for the kids.
