3 Bedroom Cottage on the Shores of Chautauqua Lake

Welcome to Cody’s Cottage.
This newly remodeled 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath cottage is located on the shores of Chautauqua Lake. The Cottage is located in an ideal lakefront location close to everything you will need. With beautiful views, you will be able to enjoy property amenities such as the enclosed lakefront porch, outdoor seating, picnic table and grill, private dock and fire pit. For your use at the cottage you will also find fishing poles, board games, books and magazines for rainy weather or those who prefer to stay in.
The cottage is within walking distance of restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, Big Tree Ice Cream Parlor, Smith Boys Marina, Lakewood cinema 8, miniature golf, tennis courts, basketball field, playground, and more! You can also take a short (20 minute or less) drive to the historic Bemus Point Area, Chautauqua Institution, Summer Wind Lake Cruises, National Comedy Center, Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum, Lucille Ball's hometown and burial plot, Southern Tier Brewery, Chautauqua Mall, Laundry, Numerous Chain Restaurants, Wegmans and so much more.
The Cottage comes fully equipped with bed linens, towels, basic kitchen appliances and dishes. The three bedrooms are all located on the second floor and consist of a lake view bedroom with a queen size bed, and two smaller bedrooms, one with a full-size bed and one with bunk beds. There is a half bath on the second floor and full bath with shower on the first floor.
Please note that we do have off season availability for snowmobilers and ice fisherman, the dock is not available during off season rentals, October to May.

Great cottage!

Liked the location on the lake. Easy to visit the other towns. Steps to the 2nd floor were a little steep for 3 70+ year olds but we managed. Owners were very accommodating and timely communication.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Spent a lot of time on the wonderful porch watching all the baby ducks & baby geese outside. A lovely stay & Kim was very responsive throughout the whole process. Highly recommend.

Quiet getaway.

The view was wonderful. We spent most of our time sitting outside looking out at the lake and across it to the farther shoreline. Just what we needed after a busy summer.

Great place bad weather

House was very clean and a good location. It would be a little cramped for more than 3 or 4 people. Weather was so bad we left early which was not the owner’s fault.

mid August cottage usage review

was disappointed that there was not a washer and dryer as indicated instead they meant you had to go up the road to the laundromat. very well decorated, but not very, very many places for guests to place their own items only one small closet upstairs in one bedroom. Absolutely gorgeous view lots of good quality kitchen equipment parking was tricky but manageable.

Peaceful Mornings on the Water

Cody's Cottage on Chatauqua Lake

Very nice cottage. The owners have updated the cottage nicely and the views of the lake are spectacular. Plenty of lake frontage with a great fire pit. Nice touches around the cottage making it very cozy. While the cottage is a little tight inside (especially in rainy weather), it has all the conveniences of home. The home is located conveniently to stores, ice cream, a movie theater and so on. Everything was right.

Fantastic location, quiet neighborhood, great family experience.

We loved being able to bring our dog with us. The property had everything we needed for our stay and had lots of games and toys for the kids to play with. Nice to be able to walk out into the lake. We saw lots of fish from the dock but did not fish. Neighbors were nice as well.

Cheerful Chatauqua Cottage

In just a few words...it could not have been nicer or appropriate for me, my little dog, and my family with young children who joined me for the weekend. Just tried to book additional weekends at the request of my grandchildren but it is all booked up! Let me know if something opens up! Ha! Thank you for thinking of everything.

Girls trip 2023

We had a great time at the cottage. The gloomy weather did not stop us from having fun! The fire pit was so relaxing at night and sitting on the dock was great. The cottage is adorable - so cozy, so clean! We love the enclosed porch - we had dance parties and smoked candy cigarettes! It was exactly what we all needed!! So much fun!

Great getaway close to home

This cottage will not disappoint! Was a clean and well equipped place. Close to everything you if you need to be. We booked this place for a close (Olean, NY) 5 day Vacation. Kids and grandkids came and stayed a night and had a great time, and sister and brother in law stayed 2 nights and fun had by all. Perfect spot on the lake, nice new dock, ducks and heron’s daily, nice fire pit and the cottage was very well maintained. Would definitely do it again if the occasion arises. Thank you for a satisfactory stay to the Hurlburts and the Cody’s Cottage! Watched a spectacular storm one night over the lake, from the cool enclosed porch, a free light show. Beautiful!

Second Time Around

We loved this cottage so much we booked it again! The location is so close to amenties and the owners are the best that we have rented from. The cottage sits away from the road and very close to the lake. The little inlet beside the cottage is the perfect spot to launch our kayaks and paddleboards. The dock is brand new. When we were there the boat lift wasn't attatched to the dock yet. There are air conditioning window units but the breeze off the lake kept us plenty cool. There isn't a dishwasher but the kitchen is fully equipt. Coffee lovers, there is a french press, percolator, Keurig and a drip coffee maker! This is a "bring your toothbrush" cottage as the owners thought of everything! We really enjoy our stay here.

Great getaway for a 4 day weekend with family

Each year we come to visit family that live on Chautauqua Lake. This year we chose Cody Cottage. It’s a super great location directly on the lake. With 3 bedrooms and a futon in the living room, it gave plenty of options to spread out and have some individual time as well as family. There are several really cool attributes here: Kim and Jason left a small bin of feed for the ducks which were really cool to feed the wildlife while relaxing out back looking over the lake. The large renovated bathroom was nice to clean up after being out on the lake for the day and enjoying the watercraft’s with family. The porch out back was nice because those of us that woke up early, you could sit on the porch with the windows open for the breeze and we didn’t wake the others up while catching up and having some coffee. The firepit outback with the fire wood pile was nice but we didn’t have time to start a fire however the neighbors did and it made for a great ambiance. Overall, this is a nice cottage and was a great stay with family. Thanks again Kim and Jason for sharing your place!! Chris and Teresa

BEST VRBO Rental Ever!

This was the best VRBO rental we've ever had. The cottage is like home, not like a rental. It's beautifully decorated and with home quality linens, furniture and kitchen utensils . Every single need is anticipated - you can find everything you need here. The location is incredible - right on the lake, picnic table with umbrella, lots of outdoor chairs, long dock with bench to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset, fire pit and wood pile. Gorgeous large window in bedroom. You can see the starry sky at night going to sleep! Beautiful family history photos in the home so you can feel the love the family has for this cottage. Local beer and chips to sample. Linens, paper products, dish liquid provided. Even little touches like binoculars, hot dog sticks, kindling and fire starter provided! So lovingly stocked with everything you need. When it was near 90 it was difficult to cool the bedrooms at first but as the night cooled, it was perfect. We didn't even care- we stared at the stars! We cannot recommend this home enough. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible cottage with us!

The house is now owned by two of Cody's Grandchildren, both of whom live locally and hope to keep the property in the family for many more generations to enjoy.
