The cabin was perfect for our family as we explored the area around Denali, Fairbanks and North Pole. It was clean and provided plenty of room. Having breakfast items left for us was very nice! Three Bears was close to shop for a few groceries and gas up. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
Location location location! Just 10 min from the main part of Healey, and 20 min from Denali. Very spacious and comfortable living space. The owner was very responsive and kind enough to stock the kitchen with breakfast essentials. My only minor suggestion is that they add a kettle for making tea in the kitchen.
Four adults stayed here for three nights while visiting Denali. Original VRBO booked in Healy prior to Covid cancelled us because they decided to no longer rent. We ended up here and had a pleasant experience. House was rustic, cookware was very worn, but otherwise was very nice. Owner left several breakfast items which was a very nice touch. View was beautiful and used the outdoor grill every night, even while it lightly snowed! Heater was powerful and warmed the house nicely when the temperature plummeted right before the snowfall.
I really wish we had planned an extra day in the Denali area so we could have hung out at this lovely house more. The host was terrific. The host understood when I broke a wine glass (I was too excited about showing someone a picture of a bear). Also provided a few breakfast items to "get us going". Very thoughtful.
The area is lovely. There are nice walks and jogs to be had. It's a beautiful 20 minute drive to the park. But mostly it's wonderful because of the cabin-y, homey feel. I wanted to linger there more and play board games with my family. Or sample from the many interesting books and videos on offer. Or sit on the deck and sip coffee. We were sad to leave.
This home was clean, roomy, and had everything we could need available. Enough space for 4 adults and 2 children and could easily sleep more with the two bunk beds in one of the bedrooms. A nice deck on back of home with view, double swing and grill to use. Nice touch with eggs, milk, bread, and yogurt the day we arrived to have for breakfast. Directions getting there were easy to follow, but the road getting to the house was on a bumpy, gravel road. Driving up to the property looked a little unkept with weeds around house and in flowerbed, however the inside looked just like the pictures and was very comfortable stay. I would recommend staying here.
This property is a solid choice, not only for location (which is super close to Denali National Park, as in15 minutes), but more so due to the gracious nature of the host. We've stayed at many VRBOs over the years, and never have we had an owner do such a nice job of providing food to get us started for our vacation. Truly, this was a surprise. Coffee. Bread, Yogurt. Cereal. Milk. So nice to not have to run to the grocery store after a long journey to arrive! The kitchen has a great stove and all you need for cooking. Big table for family dining and a very comfortable seating area to relax inside as well as a nice deck outside to do the same. We enjoyed coffee there every morning. Pictures are accurate on website. We would surely stay here again and recommend without reserve.
This property was the perfect blend of rustic, quirky, spacious, and accommodating. It was clean and comfortable. The beds were fantastic and like sleeping in a cloud! We were also pleasantly surprised with the good water pressure and fast WiFi speed. Tad was a wonderful host and super communicative. We will definitely stay here again!
The home is cozy and comfortable with enough sleeping space for a large group. The main floor area is wide open and allows for plenty of space to have dinner and hang out. The deck is nice, and its a great spot to watch the aurora if you are lucky enough to see it.
This house was perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids exploring Denali. The open living room and kitchen area was great for keeping an eye on the kids and there was plenty of space to sit and relax. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay!
Base Camp at Denali; even if you're not a mountain climber.
Our communication with Tad was prompt and helpful. The property was clean and welcoming. It was a great place to spend a weekend with our family.
Tad arranged a show of the Northern Lights for us that was SPECTACULAR. An event of a lifetime for us.
We wholeheartedly recommend staying at Tad's place.
The house was comfortable and had most necessities, though pots and pans were pretty beat up. The kitchen and living room are nicely updated, but the bathroom were pretty dated. It seems the owner is in process of updating things with some areas needing further work. It did have brand new washer and dryer which was nice as it rained the whole time we were staying in Denali and need to do a couple of loads to clean/dry stuff. The mattress were very comfortable and overall it was was a pleasant stay. Tad was very responsive to a couple of calls and even brought some firewood so we can run the fireplace/stove on a couple days that were just too wet to do anything else. He also left some breakfast items for us on the day we arrived which was a very nice touch:) I would highly recommend this place.
Oh, and watch out for the moose in the neighborhood... we saw multiple cows with calf’s just pulling up to the house which made our drives very exciting:)
The home was a perfect base for our family to retreat to after hiking in and around Denali. We enjoyed the washer/dryer, the large TV with access to Apple TV so we could watch The Tour de France, the comfy beds, the porch, and the blueberries growing on the hill below.
