Security system, screened in patio, BBQ grill with separate area, carport, SMART TV & cable, WiFi. Central AC, walk-in room, game table/pub table for games and dining. Home is just right for 2 - 4 occupants. It is close to US Hwy 27, grocery stores and 1 1/2 miles from the town of murals, Lake Placid, FL. Rural area for those who don't mind a bit of the rustic, there are natural alarm clocks and a 2 minute drive to Lake Huntly boat dock/fishing pier. For those looking for a cook get-a-way at an affordable price, this cottage is for you. Cute and affordable

The property was clean, enjoyed the screen porch. The livingroom is cramped, and the recliners are not in working order. The TV is large, and close to the seating area. Beds were comfortable. Neighborhood can be a bit noisy, between roosters (we did get used to the crowing, and they are beautiful birds!) and occasional drive by carts featuring loud, booming obscene music. Otherwise neighbors kept to themselves, and we knew it was a "rustic neighborhood." We would consider staying here again, easy access to highway 27, grocery store, dollar store, downtown Lake Placid. Property manager Erika promptly answered our queries.

This is our 3rd time staying at the Blue Cottage and we enjoyed it just as much as the previous 2.

Everything thing was simple and seamless. We loved the chickens and the proximity to family. We will be returning for a 4th time soon!

Florida Get-away

The home and property were very clean and comfortable. It was nice having all of comforts and amenities of home. The neighbors were loud and riding dirt bikes and four wheelers past the house.

Neibors have rooster roaming the streets

I dont mind it but they did wake us up at 3am. Rosster and chickens will walk in your backyard every now and then. There were ants in the showerThe master bed looked like someone slept in itThe toilet was not sealed tge way cleaning people usually seal itThe toilet paper looked used as well Publics is 5 minutes away - walmart 25 minutes away - target 1 hour and 30 minutes away - anything else is about a 2 hour drive (Miami, Orlando, and Tampa)

A Well Loved Home

Although this house is located in a rustic area, once you walk through the front door, it's picture perfect. It has comfortable and attractive furniture, interesting artwork, washer/dryer unit and TV's with Netflix. You can tell that it was lovingly refurbished and is most comfortable. The only problem we had was the security panel and it was my fault for not realizing I had to enter a code right away. The alarm went off several times and the property manager was most helpful in helping me figure it out.

Lake Placid get away!

We had just lost our winter home in Fort Myers due to Ian, and wanted time to look for a new home away from the coast. We spent several weeks looking and finally found our perfect home just north of Sebring. We then spent two weeks retrieving what we could from Fort Myers and moving it to the new home. This rental fit our plans perfectly and we would rent it again if necessary. The only fault we had with this house was after a heavy rain ,water ran into and across the screened porch.

Very nice time

The property was very well appointed and well kept . It was clean and stocked with everything we needed. I like to cook and bake and found everything but a pie pan and rolling pin ( we had picked blueberries on one of our outings. ) The hens and chicks running around were so much fun to watch and the roosters were beautiful, but noisy. My wife loved them , though. We were able to visit family and friends on the ocean and the gulf sides of the state from the location. Only a bit of noise from vehicles in the neighborhood, but it always stopped by bedtime. We loved the screen porch and sat out there each evening. We were unfamiliar with an alarm system and set it off upon entering, but we figured it out. Would recommend!

The Hellhole of Lake Placid

Located in the worst area in Lake Placid, hundreds of homes in this area, virtually every one littered with old furniture, multiple piles of old tires, the most depressing area I have ever had a holiday at. I paid for 10days, so disgusted I left after only 8 days. My wife & I owned a home in Lake Placid for 3 1/2 years. Host did not explain operation of excellent quality appliances, it was the third day before I could watch TV, had similar problems with over the range Microwave & the Stove/Range, both excellent quality, but with digital settings which required some instruction. Disgusted with this VRBO experience, doubtful if I will book again. Sincerely Bill Hanson

Blue cottage

Was very well decorated, the screened in patio was very well used by us. The roosters and hens were very entertaining. The property manager was very easy to work with.

Florida stopover

We had a great time at the cottage. Just a stop over after spending time in the Keys. There were plenty of amenities. The screened porch was a great breakfast spot. We enjoyed driving around the area and checking out the lakes.

Nice home

If this was on the lake it would be awesome! Being a light sleeper the roosters woke me up very early. Maybe white noise machine would help. We left TV on to try to avoid being woke up. House was very nice and comfortable. Neighborhood might not be the best but we had no problems. It has a security system which was nice. You can tell they put a lot of effort into remodeling!

Happily married couple for over 40 years. Wife, Evelyn was born in Sebring and raised in Lake Placid. Hubby, Felix is from Puerto Rico. Successful careers as a Firefighter/paramedic and Vietnam era veteran and currently work as a medical supervisor for a plasma company. Spouse works for a company that provides services for individuals with developmental differences. The property is managed by Erika, a family member who takes care of the home and our guests.

I decided to buy this house for my wonderful spouse so that she can stay connected to her hometown. You are welcome to visit and we know you will enjoy the home as we do.

What makes this property unique

The home is very nice and the area is quiet except for the natural alarm clocks. It is very peaceful and the neighbors are friendly but not intrusive. It is the perfect get-a-way for those who don't mind a little rustic community. The screened-in patio is wonderful for coffee in the mornings and dinner in late afternoon.
