Relaxing retreat

We spent New Years here with our adult kids and 5month old dog. Accommodations were very comfortable and the adjacency to the lake was extraordinary and serene. They had everything we needed to cook our food. I absolutely would return to experience the areaduring

Great Family Vacation

We had 4 families in our party (4yrs to 71yrs, totaling 14ppl) so the 4 separate cabins were perfect. Each cabin had its draw. Bear ended up being our common gathering space for nighttime games because of the layout, Fish had a great covered/screened in porch that was perfect for morning coffee when it was drizzly, Moose had a super open kitchen and great deck facing the lake, and Loon had the best communal fire pit with enough room for us all to gather. Moose/Bear were definitely more updated than Loon/Fish (carpeting in Loon was tough being so close to the sandy boat-launch/beach). The beds were pleasantly comfortable! Everyone who was in a bed slept GREAT! Only thing I would add to my wish list is that there were more of them... Moose had a ton of space but not a lot of beds - we had to bring a blow up mattress, which was fine because the living room was huge so we made it work, but another bed or pull-out couch would have been a great addition. Again, not a big deal, but the space is there, so more sleeping accommodations would be cool! The cabins were stocked! If you couldn't find something in your cabin, another had it. **Mentioning this because of another review - if you're looking for remote ADK lodging, this probably isn't the place for you. You can hear/see cars from property but it didn't bother most of us. We enjoyed the convenience of the town nearby and being so close to Lake Placid. Huda and Ethan were awesome hosts, friendly and accomodating!

Beautiful, very well appointed cabins in a “compound” like atmosphere.

We traveled with our adult children and their families and used all 4 cabins. It was a perfect set up for everyone to have their own space and yet be together in the lake, by the fire, or together in the larger cabin for dinner and games. All of the cabins were unique, very clean, and really had all we needed. The kitchens are well stocked, including paper towels, dish soap, bags, etc. if one cabin didn’t have a blender (for instance) the other ones did. There was a nice basket in each cabin that supplied us with all kinds of extras-toothbrushes, bug spray, coffee pods, tea, pens, paper, etc. it was really nice touch and much appreciated. We loved that our little ones could be just about anywhere and we didn’t have to worry about a road of any kind because the cabins sit down in a little area down a hill away from everything. The lake is beautiful, we had a visiting loon and fishing from the shore was pretty good if you are just fishing for fun. It was a great place to teach our 4 year old grandson how to fish. It was an easy jaunt into town and not far away from some great hiking and sightseeing. Don’t miss Donaldsons for fabulous soft serve ice-cream! Our only surprise and complaint is how close we were to the highway, which brought noise and street lights to an otherwise sweet spot We are a family who seeks solitude, and we were rightly or wrongly anticipating a more quiet location. Nighttime’s out by the fire and mornings were interrupted with noise and ligh

Camp Colby

We had a great week at the property - there were 9 kids and 7 adults ; we rented all 4 cabins. Kids had a great time going back and forth between the cabins - property manager and owner were super responsive the entire time. Lake Colby is great for the kids - the public beach is right next door and the lake is quiet enough the kids can paddle/swim with no concern. Spent a day in Lake Placid and a rainy day at a nearby Nature Center ; also rented some Paddleboards for the week. We hope to make it back again soon!

Great weekend!!

We used all four cabins with our group and we’re very pleased with the whole layout of each cabin and the group of cabins together. Every thing was as advertised, the check-in and communication with host was easy, and our overall experience was excellent. Thank you!!

A Special Place for Memories

I married my best friend here with my family present so this place will always hold a special place in my heart. Ethan and Huda made it an ease to make these memories - they were communicative throughout and helped to accommodate in ways that we needed. The cabins are pristine. I would recommend to anyone and we look forward to making more memories here in the future.

Great Family Vacation at Lake Colby

Huda and Ethan were terrific hosts! The four cabins were perfect for our family gathering. The water was steps from the doors of the cabins, and the kayaks and canoes were well used during our stay. The kitchens were outfitted with everything we needed to prepare meals, beds were comfortable, and air conditioning much appreciated on those 85-degree days when we all needed a break from the heat. Definitely thinking about a return visit next year!

Phenomenal stay on Lake Colby

Huda & Ethan have a truly magical spot on Lake Colby. We rented all 4 cabins for two nights & it was a perfect set up for our needs. The cabins were extremely clean, well maintained, had plenty of space, and offered a perfect lakefront venue. I'd highly recommend folks stay here in the future!

Family Getaway

We rented all four cabins for a family group. It was perfect as you have time together but your own privacy too. Had a great time. The only negative would be the comfort of the sleeper sofa beds. Probably ok for younger kids but not for adults. It was peaceful and relaxing and we even had a family of otters to entertain us.

Great winter getaway

We wanted to experience Lake Placid but did not want the hotel feel. We found these cabins which would accommodate our large family (3 different families) yet still allow us to hang in one place and be together! We went to white face, Titus mountain and lake placid and the drive to and from all was easy. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Exactly what we were looking for! Would definitely consider these cabins again!

Fabulous trip!

The lake is beautiful and we really enjoyed the sandy beach right in front of the Loon Cabin. Having four cabins worked out very well, especially during this time. We kayaked, canoed, had nightly campfires, and the great weather enabled us to eat every dinner outside. Huda is exceptionally responsive, which we greatly appreciated, both before and during the stay. Would happily stay here again.

Great for family reunions

We had such a great stay at this property. The kids loved it and had so much fun on the water. It affords each family privacy because you have your own cabin, but there is still the feeling of togetherness . We ranged in ages from six to eight three and a great time was had by all! The cabins are darling and there is plenty to do/see in the area. Highly recommend this rental, especially for a large group.

The owner is very quick about responding to all inquiries. The property was lovely and matches the photos. Excellent amenities. Caretaker lives close by to respond to any needs. We stayed in the bear and moose cabin and had a great time overall

My husband and I live in the Hudson Valley but are lucky enough to be a short drive away from the beautiful Adirondack State Park.

We provide fresh towels and linens and in the summer months, beach towels and life jackets for guests. In warm weather months, guests can choose from two row boats, two canoes and 3 kayaks which are kept at our private beach.

This cabin is a two minute walk to the public beach and a one minute drive to the public boat launch. We offer check-in or check-out on Saturdays from the third week of June to the first week of September.

Why they chose this property

These cabins are on a beautiful lake where one can enjoy swimming or use of any of our 7 boats. A short drive away are excellent golf courses, some of the best hiking on the East Coast and great down hill skiing and snow boarding. Our cabins are insulated and heated year round and renters will enjoy the serenity of Lake Colby and the wonderful village of Saranac Lake any month of the year.

What makes this property unique

Our cabins are furnished and decorated with the history of the Adirondacks in mind, but with all of the comforts you would enjoy in your own home: AC, WIFI and Smart TV's. Enjoy fresh coffee on Lake Colby in the morning and a beer at the fire pit lakeside at sunset.
