We had a great time in Dover at this unit. It was easy to find and loved the keyless access. The unit was clean and had everything we needed for our getaway. There is access to a pool/fitness room/tennis court for a nominal fee that was a great discovery for our teenagers! Owners answered my questions quickly and I had no concerns. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a getaway in the Sandpoint area.
Perfect location, perfect space for a relaxing weekend
Came to Dover because we have family in Sandpoint and we've outgrown their house. We were spoiled rotten with this rental and can't wait to come back. There wasn't anything this place didn't have. I always pack things like ziploc bags and foil because most rentals can't be bothered to stock these things. NOT HERE! Zip loc bags, a basic spice offering, plastic wrap, all the pots and pans you could ever think you might need and more. We brought paddle boards and the kids (10 and 17) had a blast paddling right off the back porch. Minor issue in not being able to locate a broom (the hardwood floors are dark and beautiful and we wanted to keep them clean) but a quick note to the owner Owen was all it took to discover the broom likely got locked up. No worries, we were super happy to have such responsive owners to work with. This place is easily big enough for 3 couples or 2 small families. So grateful to have had the experience.

Location was very nice but....
We rented this property for a week in June. The surrounding landscape and location were amazing. The nearby lake and stream were wonderful. There are lots of opportunities for fishing and water sports, BUT you must either buy or bring your own. Nothing extra is provided by the property manager. This is our third VRBO stay in the area and it was the least "stocked" of them all by far. Not even a complimentary bottle of water on arrival. Maybe we've been spoiled at all our other locations, but this one def provided the bare minimum. If you stay here in the summer, beware the upstairs is quite hot. We were unable to use the upstairs bedroom due to the warmth. There's a fireplace upstairs that apparently never turns off and continues to put out heat. Also there is only one TV on the property and it was located upstairs. Given both these factors, we moved the TV downstairs for our stay so that my children could enjoy it in the evenings, and prior to checkout we moved it back upstairs undamaged. However we were charged for this after checkout, because the internet "temporarily" disconnected. THe odd thing is that when we moved it downstairs there was ZERO issue with reconnecting immediately. However the property manager claimed he had to have a professional come out to the house to reconnect it, and thus we were charged for that cost.
Also on checkout, there are explicit instructions to wash all linens. Therefore we put the sheets comforters, towels and blankets in the washer as instructed. We then got an email later that day that said we would incur additional charges for doing so, because the comforter was damaged by the washer and needed professional cleaning. Again never have we had this issue.
The last straw was the manager claimed that we scratched a closet door that we NEVER opened, because it was locked. We didn't even wear shoes in the house, as requested by the owner, much less cause damage or scratches on a door that was never used. A picture of the marks were sent to us and they appeared to be scratches from a dog. We did NOT have a dog. In short, the damages were there prior to our stay and the owner was looking for a way to get someone else to pay for them so he didn't have to.
In final the scenery is amazing, but there are many other options outside of this property with far fewer headaches and more amenities without having to worry about being financially taken advantage of. Look elsewhere!!
We had a fabulous stay here! Winter wonderland with lots of nearby places to explore, easy drive to Mt. Schweitzer ski resort. House itself was very comfortable, great beds, well stocked kitchen, nice deck, fabulous grill. I appreciated that the Owners checked in to make sure all was well (and it was!). Really great stay.
The area of Dover Bay is a cute well planned community. The owners were great and very detailed. We love the no pet policy it was nice to know the house was not going to have pet odor. The kitchen was well appointed, no need to worry about bringing spices to cook with there was ample supply of seasonings, olive oil, Saran Wrap, ziplock bags, coffee filters and paper towels. 😀
We had an absolutely wonderful, fun and relaxing long weekend at this blissfully peaceful and quiet home! It is everything the pictures and amenities describe and MORE! We made the trip as a girlfriends getaway and it was a fantastic choice! Every detail has been well thought out and it was cozy and inviting to just sit and chat for hours, go on beautiful quick walks (only short due to air quality from recent fires not because there were no options!) and explore this area! We will definitely be putting it on our future return list! Thank you Kellie and Owen for sharing your home! ~The Traveling Trio!
Owen & Kellie have an amazing water front Dover property. Being local to the area this was a fantastic little family staycation for us on the last weekend before school started. Loved being able to walk to the marina for dinners at Dish and the Marina even rents boats so we had some fun on the water too! Host was great and always responsive, 5 Stars. - Nolan
The stay was fantastic. Owen was a pleasure to work with. The family and I would definitely come back and highly recommend it to any other families that want to get away to beautiful Idaho.
This property had many additional amenities that we enjoyed! Great view of the inlet, comfortable beds & bedding, plenty of beach towels, soaps etc. We felt very comfortable!
Owen and Kellie's home had the perfect amount of space for my family of five. My teen boys each took a bedroom and my 10 year old daughter was very comfy on the futon bed. I was pleased to find laundry products, as well as kitchen supplies like plastic wrap, aluminum foil and sandwich bags. The view from the back deck is just lovely and we enjoyed watching birds come and go. We had brought an inflatable raft and the kids had fun launching into the water right from the yard. Kellie and Owen were responsive to my messages and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property. Thanks for a great stay!
Kellie & Owen were great to deal with. Their home was as nice as the pictures you see. The back deck facing the inlet is quite nice for your morning coffee and in the evening for relaxing. Just mins walking to the marina. Great area.
Location and house was perfect for our family! Easy to walk to pool that is part of Dover Bay resort(extra fee but totally worth it with little kids), lake, dish restaurant and walking/biking trails. Kids loved the upstairs and parents loved being downstairs. Very serene setting on inlet with great sunsets and quiet mornings. Not the warmest weather but was never too warm upstairs or down. Owners were easy to contact and responded quickly. All in all we had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Why they chose this property
Sandpoint has been a favorite destination for as long as we've been together. We love the mountain town vibe and friendliness of the people in Idaho. When we were searching for a vacation home, this home really spoke to us. It is close to town and Schweitzer and very accessible to the water. We couldn't pass it up!
