About this property

Historically Significant 1 BR, 1 Private BA Close to Everything

Just minutes from beautiful Sarasota Bay and lovely beaches! This upstairs guest room, a King, 1 BR with private bath is located near Downtown Sarasota and the beaches. 5 minutes to Downtown, 5 minute drive to Lido Key Beach, close to Siesta Key! The Reserve Retreat boasts 2 onsite restaurants, coffee and tea shop, craft beer and wine bar. Free self-serve coffee in the Café (opens 8a Tues-Sun). Come join us!

We have two on-site restaurants! Tuesday-Sunday Chef Jesus serves American fare breakfast and lunch from 8a-2p. Eat indoors at The Café or outdoors on our lovely courtyard.

The Reserve Kitchen by Chef Antonio is open 7 days a week. Enjoy the vibrant fusion of American culinary tradition with the colorful flavors of Southern European cuisine. Dinner is served daily from 4:30-9:30pm. Lunch served on Saturday and Sunday from noon-4. Dinner and lunch are served in a more formal setting in the lovely dining room.

The Reserve Retreat is a landmark property, steeped in Sarasota's rich art and cultural heritage. The three buildings were part of circus magnate Charles Ringling's estate before his Mansion was built. At various times, it was a boarding house and a circus performance venue. Today, it is a redeveloped gorgeous property with three buildings on a single parcel joined by a beautiful outdoor courtyard. It is across the street from the Sarasota Bay and just minutes to Downtown, and both Lido Key and Siesta Key beaches!

Conveniently located near Downtown Sarasota, the beaches, St. Armand's Circle, many performing arts venues, restaurants, and more! A great Sarasota escape close to the arts and nature and much more.

Washer and dryer on-site, too. Beach chairs and beach towels can be checked out for your convenience. Too many great points to list here!

Near Lido Key Beach and marina for our boat day. Disliked all rooms on the 2nd floor accessed by outside wooden stairs. Disliked no paper toilet holder!oiletThe room was over the bar next to the courtyard for live entertainment. Electronic door key system a challenge. Disliked King size bed as it's against the wall. A queen would be better suited.

Wood floors were dirty and need to be done Bathroom should have toilet paper holder, provide tissues Should have a full length mirror and some drawers to put clothes in Cafe should open earlier than 9am Food was not good On a positive note the staff were super friendly. They had nice live music and the location was pretty good

Full of charm, excellent service, and plenty to appease!
The friendly staff really elevate the experience as a guest and the property was charming, clean, and ideally located for exploring the city. The wine bar, coffee shop, and restaurant all offer excellent service and selections to appease your senses. The live music venue is delight in the courtyard and the property is ideally suited for private getaways or family reunions. The location is easy to get to and offers waterfront parks, restaurants, and local sights nearby.

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION
Okay I have SO MUCH to say, this place is magical. We did a staycation, as we don’t live far from here, and it was the most enjoyable experience. I kid you not, we didn’t even leave the place! We didn’t have too! They have EVERYTHING! Amazing coffee, dirty chai’s, breakfast, lunch, and dinner cooked to perfection by their wonderful staff (Matt and Jen!) and Lisa and Lori were the best service wise and company wise! I truly would go back the second I could, especially with what’s going on in the world, too. It was the slice of heaven that my fiancé and I needed. Mom and pop style, cozy up, good convo, GREAT food, wonderful people... need I say more?

People were great
Our room was relatively bare bones-perfectly adequate and cozy However, everyone, and I mean everyone, at The Reserve was exceptional. From Jessica, to Jennifer to Ollie and everyone else couldn't have done more to accommodate our many requests and really couldn't have been nicer. There were minor inconveniences-construction along Route 41, for example-but people are more important than anything else and the people here are exceptional and kind beyond words. we want to stay with them again.

Stay in Sarasota
We stayed in Sarasota for 4 days. We enjoyed the convenience of the room. It is easy to walk to downtown Sarasota, a supermarket is not far away and the coffee and wine place right downstairs is wonderful. The newly added restaurant is also a plus. We had a great time and would stay here again.

Under construction. Restaurant is not complete. We had to move rooms-the second room was nicer.

I have lived, in Sarasota for about 20 years and love the area. I purchased these historically significant buildings in 2016 and have lovingly restored them so that everyone can enjoy them, too!

What makes this property unique

The Reserve Retreat has many enjoyable facets: restaurant for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner (except Monday and Tuesdays when we close at 3), beer/wine bar, coffee shop, small book store, and music venue. Open seven days a week.
