"The Cottage at Pleasant Point"

Traditional Cape Cottage in a peaceful bayside neighborhood. This recently renovated home has a kitchen, a large, open living room/dining area with brick fireplace, and a full bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms (one with Queen bed; the other two each have two (2) twins with one room large enough for the beds to be pushed together) and a half bathroom, as well as access to the large sun deck.

In addition to the sun deck upstairs, there is a large screened-in porch on the main floor for bug-free outdoor dining, evening cocktailsbb or rainy-day reading. Outdoor amenities include a fire pit, gas grill and outdoor shower. Brand new insulation throughout and A/C will keep things cool on hot summer days. The house has Wi-Fi and a washer/dryer for your convenience, as well as beach chairs, sand toys and lots of books, toys and games for kids of all ages.

Pleasant Point is a lovely neighborhood with quiet streets, wonderful walking trails to Fox Marsh and birdwatching at Drummer Cove. The neighborhood landing, Pleasant Point, is a short walk from the house. It is perfect for swimming, paddle-boarding or kayaking at high tide and great for beach walking or exploring as the tide goes down. Our kids love to chase crabs around the beach at low tide!

The house is an easy (bike or car) ride to the beginning of the Cape Cod Rail Trail, ocean and bay beaches, ponds and town center. You can even go clamming at nearby Indian Neck beach. A quick ride across Rt 6 will take you to PB Boulangerie, a beloved French restaurant/bakery with lines out the door on most summer weekends, and The Blue Willow, with great breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. From there, you're right at the foot of Lecount Hollow Road, which takes you over to the beaches and kettle ponds on the ocean side.

This is our family vacation home and we have young kids so it will hopefully feel comfortable for other families to use - you are welcome to enjoy the various toys, puzzles and games that we have there. There is a pack 'n play and high chair and we can also recommend nearby options for renting baby toys/equipment. Please note, however, that the home is not baby-proofed - no locks on the cabinets or gates on the staircase, etc.

Great home away from home

We had a nice stay - the house had everything we needed, included plenty of games that we enjoyed playing on the screen porch. Owner was helpful throughout the process - from obtaining a beach pass to check in and check out.

Great House for Families, good location!

We had a wonderful week at the Cape and loved our stay at David’s house. Perfect setup for families, well equipped kitchen and a wonderful screened porch to enjoy. The location is great too, in a quiet residential neighborhood with walking trails and water access nearby.

Perfect Wellfleet Getaway!

This is the perfect place to stay! It is set back in a quiet neighborhood, but close enough to beaches and nightlife that there’s so much to do. The house is great for 2 people or a family - the outdoor shower really is an amazing feature. Would recommend this place to anyone!

After a misunderstanding about dogs, we left our dog with our sister in town. The owner either lives next door or lives with a relative next door and is hypervigilant. He kept popping up for "repairs" or for some other reason. We would see him checking us out frequently and it made us feel very uncomfortable.

Wonderful experience

Our stay in Wellfleet was like living a dream! The cottage is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The kids loved playing in the yard. We all enjoyed the fire pit at night. The house is very well equipped. The screened dining room was very pleasant. The deck is also great to read a book and relax. The owner was very kind and helpful. We would rent again and recommend to friends.

Enjoyable cottage

We had a great time staying at this cottage. The location is very convenient, a short drive to Wellfleet Center, beaches and ponds and Eastham. The upper deck is private and you feel like you are in the trees. The beds are comfortable, and the living room is a comfortable place to watch movies. The screened porch serves as a nice game room, where we did a puzzle. In the backyard there’s a fire pit and grill, which we put to good use. Overall the place is well equipped and maintained, and the property manager was responsive and helpful.

The house looked to be recently professionally renovated. Very clean and ready for us when we arrived. The host was exceptionally communicative. I'd recommend to anyone who wants some quiet relaxation in an old time camp like neighborhood. The outdoor space with the firepit is a very experience

Our family has enjoyed Wellfleet for many years! My wife grew up spending summer vacations in Wellfleet and her parents love Wellfleet so much that they moved from Cambridge MA about 10 years ago and now live there year-round. After many years of searching for a vacation home near her parents, we lucked out and bought a cottage that is almost across the street. After completing an extensive renovation this winter, we are excited to begin spending weekends and vacations there as a family (and not just for the free babysitting!)

Although we live in Boston, I am always available by phone/e-mail and happy to help out with suggestions as you plan your Wellfleet vacation.

Why they chose this property

The Pleasant Point neighborhood is a serene and charming neighborhood that is well-located for all sorts of Wellfleet activities. Pleasant Point landing (right down the street) offers easy access for swimming, kayaking and wandering the beach and marsh - it's also great if you don't want to brave the crowds at the beach or make it a full beach day and just want to take a dip at high tide. There are hiking trails nearby and a quick bike ride to the start of the Cape Cod Rail Trail.

What makes this property unique

The house was extensively renovated in the Winter of 2018 - most areas (except for the kitchen) were taken down to the studs so the cottage could be winterized and updated with heat and A/C. We like to think it has the charm and the quintessential cottage feel, while still feeling fresh and updated. We love the mix of outdoor spaces (yard, screened porch, sun deck) that provide a spot for every mood or activity. This is our vacation home and we spend a lot of time there so we take good care of the place!

As noted, our extended family owns a few houses in this neighborhood. Highland House is right up the road (you can see it from the front porch of our cottage) and usually available for rent. The two houses together would be a perfect setup for a large group or extended family so please feel free to reach out if you would be interested in renting both houses at the same time!

We have a kit you can use if you would like to push two Twin beds together to make a King. Please let us know when booking if you would like us to leave this out for you.
