This house was everything that was advertised and more! Great secluded and (mostly) quiet neighborhood, but yet close to many conveniences. We arrived late but it was no problem getting the keys and we were greeted with a bag of Hershey kisses and a wonderful typed out guide and tips for the area which we used throughout our stay! Because we were arriving late the first night, I had brought food with us to cook instead of going out. The kitchen is well stocked and I was able to find everything I needed for a quick shrimp pasta dinner with garlic bread. The next day we toured a farm, went to the top of a tower for a photo op, and then took a drive into Provincetown! We had a great sandwich lunch and then headed back to Mashpee. On the way home we stopped and did an escape room! You don't need to hear about how we went bowling the next day or went to the tavern and watched people linedancing while enjoying the prime rib special for 19.99!There are so many great things to say about this property and the owners are great even though we never met them in person. They were available through text if we needed anything, which we didn't! Everything was perfect for a 3 night stay in the dead of winter! We hope to get the same property this summer!
House was very clean. Nicely decorated. Peaceful. Has everything you may need. Check in and check out was smooth. I even walked in to a nice little surprise. Highly recommend.
I had the good fortune to stay in Cape Cod Cottage for two weeks in October 2024. There is a lot to like about this house. The spacious four bedrooms and two full bathrooms would accommodate seven adults very comfortably. The hosts have thoughtfully equipped and stocked the house with just about everything you might need during your stay. If you are hoping to find some Cape Cod ambiance, you will find it here; this Cape Cod style house has been decorated in the beachy, coastal style that reminds you that you are on Cape Cod at every turn. The outdoor property is sensational, with thick woods on three sides giving you amazing privacy. There is a deck, a table and chairs, a gas barbeque grill, a fire pit, and Adirondack chairs to help you enjoy the outdoors. The outdoor shower with all of the sky and trees around is kinda fun too! The hosts, Stephen and Nancy, were wonderful about communication before, during, and after my stay. Additionally, the house is centrally located, making it easy to explore all corners of the Cape and take day trips off-Cape. Cape Cod Cottage was a great place to come home to while in Massachusetts; I hope I can come again. soon againagagainsoon.
Great location for exploring Cape Cod. Convenient to Hyannis and Falmouth ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Many nice little touches in decorating the cottage such as lots of Nautical theme pictures, wall hangings, knicknacks, bed comforters and sheets. Loved the fact that not only was the tv Roku enabled, but also had Xfinity cable for those of us that don't subscribe to streaming channels! Very clean cottage and excellent check in and check out instructions. My favorite place we visited was Nantucket and seeing all the places that author Elin Hildebrand has written about. Would return here.
The house and location were nice. The back deck was great had table and chairs with a grill for cooking. The couch was comfortable but the rest of the seating wasn’t very comfortable. The beds were comfortable.Every thing we used worked well stove, fridge, coffee maker and kitchen was well equipped.
This was super clean and very well apportioned. Was not a thing that we would not have wanted for. Steve and Nancy were amazing! Anytime there was a question they responded quickly. Location wise it was a very short trip to anywhere we needed or wanted to go. Beautiful deck, fire pit very beautiful house
House is very clean, welcoming, quiet, great location/neighborhood, excellent communication from owner. Easy checkin, everything you need is available and if you forgot something they have you covered. Overall a fantastic stay, trip and experience!
We loved our stay at this cottage - it was beautifully decorated and had every amenity we could want - and then some! I appreciated the easy prompt responses from the owner and the easy check-in and check-out instructions. We all thought the cottage was even nicer than the photos showed. Thank you for being our Cape Cod home for 4 nights!
We had a wonderful time at our stay. Steve and Nancy were very responsive to any questions we might’ve had. Only negative thing was the amount of seating in the living room. Could’ve stood a bigger couch. Overall, a very, very nice place.
This was our first summer vacation on the cape with our kids. The house was plenty spacious for sleeping 4 adults and 3 kids. We were thankful for the air conditioners because it was a very hot, muggy week inside and outside the house; we only wish there was one more in the downstairs queen room as every other room had one but that one and the fans just didn’t cut it some nights. The only other minor complaint was that there was only a loveseat in the living room with 2 wooden chairs to sit; as I’ve seen in past reviews that is enough for the amount of sleepers if you use kitchen chairs but it’s not a comfortable option with kids especially for a movie night or rainy day like we experienced a few of during our stay. We improvised and made a pillow fort those nights! I wouldn’t say anything was a make or break just small constructive criticism to help in the future. Overall the house was a great property and area and we really enjoyed our stay! Thankyou to the hosts for being in response so quickly when needed and for giving us many recommendations of things to do!
Having grown up in the area this is exactly what was expected. Nice, clean space with just enough of what you need. The bedrooms are actually bigger than expected and the bathrooms were fine.
I am writing this part of the review for the VRBOers that have this idea of what The Cape "is." This is the quinesential Cape house. No extragance.
Overall the stay was wonderful. Our hosts left many things in case you forgot something like shampoo, a nice beach chair or even your fishing pole. Steve and Nancy left a very nice welcome bag of chocolates and a resourceful welcome guide. Our only compliant about the property is that there is only a love seat in the living room. Many of us had to resort to using our camping chairs. Other than that it was a wonderful time staying on Cape Cod and running in the Cape Cod marathon.
It was a nice Cape Cod, like I was used to growing up. Air conditioning in the 2 bedrooms we stayed in, which helped us through a hot humid stay. We were there as the hurricane was approaching and we were contacted early to be aware and that, if we felt we should leave, he would refund appropriately. We felt we were cared for. We were from out of state, so would not have had any idea what would be involved. Thank you for a great stay!
We did our annual girls trip of mom (me) grandma and two girls (3,4) to the cape! This house was good for us there was lots of bed options and everyone could have their own space. The hosts were sweet and left my daughters some bubbles which they loved! We did a lot of what was suggested- we walked (hiked .7 miles) to the lovely pond a few miles from the house. There was not many people there we were the only ones on the beach there were kids kayaking and such, but it was perfect for us. Then we went to the Cotuit market for lunch. Also a gem. My girls love the 1856 Country Store too. It’s become a staple when we visit. Also Falmouth is great for families. We were centrally located to our favorite towns- Hyannis and Falmouth. We also checked out Mashpee commons which is a great outdoor shopping village.
All in all this was a great house it was on a quiet col du sac but close to places we wanted to go to. It was clean and the kitchen and closets were stocked with amenities. The hosts were responsive. Thank you for a great trip!
We really enjoyed our stay, the only issue was there was no air conditioning on the first floor and only window air conditioners in the two upstairs bedrooms. Otherwise the house was very nice and clean.
We stayed here for 5 nights. There were plenty of very nice, bright bedrooms for all 6 of us and both the location and house was very convenient and comfortable for a big family with very energetic children!
Spacious bedrooms, quiet neighborhood, well stocked kitchen/bath
This house was much as described, in good repair. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, silverware, and some condiments and paper items as well. There were towels and bath items as well as laundry including soap. So nice to have these things. The two upstairs bedrooms were very large. Bedrooms felt a little empty without dressers, but beds were good and had linens and blankets. There was even wood outside and starter for a campfire. We really enjoyed the house, it was convenient to north and south beaches, and we took day trips to Provincetown and Boston (about 1-1.5 hour one way). The only thing I noticed was some ability for improvement in the upstairs bathroom - it could have been cleaned a bit better and there was a bit of mold on ceiling. -- Overall a very easy and comfortable stay. We would stay there again.
It is nestled in a very quiet neighborhood with trees all around. The home is simple and welcoming
It is close to shopping and convenient for traveling around the Cape.
