Quiet getaway weekend

The location is perfect for secluded quiet time. The road to get to the cabin can be a little difficult depending upon the vehicle you drive. The cabin is spectacular with lodge feel. Beautifully decorated and space for people toget away and spread out. Cell service is obsolete. WiFi is the only option for service but even then some cellular service is un obtainable. The hot tub was a great addition to the location. The beds are firm and the headboard in the lower bedroom can be difficult for some. The cleanliness of the cabin was spectacular. All the amenities that you need including a K cup coffee pot is provid I I love you, but you’re gonna have to slow down a little bit and give my meds time to. ed, but it’s not listed in the details.

Our stay at Moose Creek

The home was nice and had lots of space. We felt that it was time for some updates. As older folks, we felt that the upper entry could use some stone and step leveling to make it easier to get up on the porch. The road is narrow and very winding but accessible if you take slowly. Overall a good stay

Perfect getaway to unplug, relax, & unwind

This cabin was perfect for our family! 8 of us plus 1 dog! There was plenty of space for everyone to hang out! Plenty cookware, linens, and towels!! The kids had a blast playing in the creek finding craw dads and salamanders! If you’re looking for somewhere to just relax let go and let the kids play outdoors worry free this is your spot! No cell service was the wifi worked great for us! We will definitely be returning!!

Great cabin, great location. A lot of privacy.

Enjoyed the cabin. It was comfortable and roomy. However, was disappointed with hot tub (temperature would not increase above 62) and wood stove in living room was not operable.

Great house for large family

The cabin is large, plenty of room. Definitely needs some updates on lighting and shower fixtures. The hot tub needs maintenance, and different heating source needed downstairs. Property management/cleaning management also definitely needs improvement. This is a pet friendly house and it shows.

Enjoyed the creek, fire pit, hot tub and front porch swing. Did not enjoy the road to and from the cabin, master suite toilet overflowed and many dead bugs throughout cabin every morning.

Powell/Markakis Family vacation

This property was perfect for a family vacation. The road to get to the house was a little rough for us Florian’s. Not used to mountain driving. The house was very clean, lots of room and very homey. Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and the sound of the creek. Only negative, the grill didn’t work while we stayed and we had planned on grilling. Really turned out to bit be a problem. I would highly recommend this house to anyone that enjoys a peaceful vacation. Perfect.

Systemic issues need correction

Yes, we enjoyed our vacation because I have a great family. No - although the house is situated in a pleasant spot, convenient to area attractions (Cherokee), with wonderful neighbors (thank you Janice! and Rodney!) - we cannot recommend staying at the Lodge unless the owner makes important changes. We did not have A/C because the system is broken and needs to be fully replaced. There is no landline and no cell service anywhere in the neighborhood. Internet is limited and would not allow VOIP calls from cell phones. The washing machine circuit was not functional and I had to wash laundry in the sink. The room with twin bunk beds is not a bedroom since there is no egress window. We took all of our trash home because the garbage cans were filled up and trash was not collected on schedule. After our stay, I corrected the Google Maps location on behalf of the owners, because initially we got stuck down the wrong driveway. These are only the top issues of a 17 point list. After spending the vacation and several days afterwards chatting with VACASA, we did gratefully receive a partial refund. But the discount, nice lodge porch, and a bed for each family member, was not sufficient to make up for the systemic issues that need correction and that likely were present/known to VACASA prior to our arrival.

Amenities a Bust and No Resolution

Hot tub was dirty. Advertised a wood burning fireplace, but it was inoperable. Downstairs gas logs didn't work. No rocking chairs on front porch as pictured. Couldn't find a ball for the foosball table. Space is good for a family. Kids enjoyed the creek.

Beautiful home

We loved the setting and privacy. Beautiful home and very comfortable for our family of five with a dog. The home has everything you need for a nice stay. The hot tub did not smell like chlorine so we did not try it since many people may visit. The home was clean and cozy.

WCU College Tour

This was a great location for us to not only tour the college but to experience the mountains. Primitive road to get to the home could be quite the experience at night and I am very glad we arrived in daylight! The kids had a great time exploring and our dog was very happy to have a fenced in area to run free.

WCU graduation weekend

We had a lovely time at the Moose creek lodge. Clean and comfortable. Took a lil longer than expected to get up to home…15 minutes from main highway. The only main issue we had was 3 bedrooms downstairs with only 1/2 bath. 2 full baths upstairs with one bedroom. We made it work for the long weekend. The fire pit and hot tub were great! Property is beautiful. The property managers were very accessible.

Loved this cabin!

My husband and three kids and I stayed here for roughly a week and had an amazing time! The cabin had everything that you needed, with the exception of high-functioning Wi-Fi, but they tell you that in the description so be prepared for it. They had paper products and even toiletries, dish soap, and trash bags ready for your use which was nice because we got in very late and I did not get to shop until the next morning. Just bring coffee for that first morning to get you by until you go to the store LOL! 😂 There was plenty of space for everybody and the kids had so much fun outside in the creek, in the woods, in the hammock, and in the play yard with our pet that it was a nice break for them!! The GPS definitely misleads you so as they say in the description follow their written directions instead the roads are very steep and narrow so for sure if you are there in the winter bring a four-wheel drive vehicle. We were there in April with our van and it did just fine however. Stores are within 10 minutes in Sylva so although the cabin feels very secluded in the woods you're not too far from things. We enjoyed the Biltmore one day, then Ruby and Sapphire mining another, and then spent a whole day just relaxing at the cabin and it was great! We even got to put together a really could complex puzzle as a family (provided by the cabin) so that was fun. The cabin is perfectly situated for those events all within an hour away or less. The only issue we had was upon returning home we all broke out with what the doctor called "hot tub folliculitis" which is a bacterial infection of the hair follicles so at first we all thought we had chicken pox but luckily it was that so I am letting the management know to have the hot tub cleaned better for the next people. Other than that it was a really great place to stay and any family or even a few families together would really enjoy this cabin!

Nice out of the way cabin

I would have rated this a 5 star, but the place is awkward to navigate and the furniture looks cool, but was not very comfortable for more than a few minutes. Overall a great older cabin that is well appointed and had all the expendables we needed to get in and settled before having to make a run to the store. We left the window open a couple of nights to listen to the creek right in front of the house. No cell service for us, but even my three teenagers survived. The road getting to the cabin could be scary for some, but we made it in a 4x4 mid sized SUV and a two wheel drive full size pickup without problems even though it rained heavily two days of our stay. I'd be wary of ice and snow though as the road's narrow, steep and twisty but well packed. Thanks to the owners and Vacasa for a great experience.

We love Moose Creek Lodge!

We love our time at Moose Creek Lodge! Between exploring outside, playing in the creek with our dogs, and relaxing inside the cozy cabin - this is the perfect place to unwind and chill. The master bedroom upstairs has the most comfortable bed. The living room is great to watch your favorite Netflix series. We love the fenced in portion of the yard to let our dogs out without worry. We always look forward to our next stay at Moose Creek Lodge!
