My family & I really enjoyed our stay at Bear Bottoms. The cabin was plenty big enough, the views were great & even though we had close neighbors it felt like we were all alone in the mountains. The only thing I would suggest is the property needs more utensils & a few more sets of dishes. We had exactly what we needed for meals so we needed to do dishes after each meal.

Perfect getaway
Beautiful home, even more spectacular view. Drive up is an adventure, but so worth it. We had great wifi and reception and kitchen is well stocked. Close to the mountains, Bryson City and other restaurants and amenities. It was perfect for our family's long weekend retreat!
Loved visiting the National Park and Polar Express ride. Was disappointed with the cabin. Spare bedroom was not as listed, instead had wobbly bunk beds so had to improvise both nights! Fire place didn’t work. Maybe it’s just the season but we were severely outnumbered by the lady bugs and stink bugs!
I suggest that blinds or cuVrtains be placed on the french doors. When the sun is going down it is difficult to watch TTVTVTVTvwatchbthe TV on t

Great Cabin
We loved everything about the cabin. It’s sooo nice and the view from the front porch is extraordinary!! The beds were more firm than we like, but it wasn’t a big deal. The cabin was very clean and lots of privacy. We loved the sitting area on the bottom level. Just a great cabin overall!!
The road to the cabin is very steep and narrow, but we didn’t mind. Would definitely have been difficult to pass other vehicles, but thankfully we didn’t meet any other vehicles.

Beautiful cabin
We have stayed in a lot of cabins. This was the most beautiful one we’ve ever stayed at. We actually, for the first time, used a travel agent and we are so glad we did. KH Travel found us this and we were so pleased. The view is as breathtaking as the cabin.
Beautiful and nice cabin. Disappointed that cabin didn't have cable or channel streaming.

No oven , and no cable. Back door handle broke off in your hand. No wifi or reseption
The home it's self was perfect. But with no wifi, or cell reseption it was hard to reach anyone about the issues in the home. When we did get through, although the 3different peaple I spoke to on 3different days about the same issues were very polite and understanding. No one ever came to fix the issues.

Headache from the start.
When we arrived on Thursday the heat was not working. My husband and my father went outside and the condensing coil was frozen. And the thermostat was locked on the inside of the cabin. They ended up getting the emergency heat to work. When we tried to light the fire place, it wouldnt work. It didnt work our entire stay.
There were SEVERAL lady bugs and stink bugs throughout the cabin. A ton in the large windows, bathrooms, bedrooms. EVERYWHERE!
There was black mold in the wet bar area. On the wall, the dart board game, the pictures.
The bunkbeds in the spare room, were so wobbly and missing screws that no one could sleep on it.
When I reached out to Vacasa they offered to relocate us, unfortunately they did not have anything in the area. They then offered to refund my money and we could find somewhere else. Again, unfortunately there was nothing in the area for a reasonable price (it would take 3-5 business days to get a refund) and we had tickets to the Polar Express. They offered to send someone up on friday to address our issues and no one ever came nor called. Our trip was through Sunday, and we decided to leave on Saturday, after trying to tough it out. The only thing positive about this trip was the views! We definitely will not book this cabin in the future.

Excellent view
Very nice cabin has a lot of stairs for older people. If you’re gonna make breakfast and want toast you have to bring your own toaster. Had a real good time sitting on the second floor deck watching the hummingbirds.
Great place great area (poor management means you need to bring your own stuff)
The cabin is great and your adventure will start at the driveway!
No WiFi
Vacasa manages the property and they won’t answer the phone on the weekend - if you arrive on Saturday you’ll need to do your best to see what supplier you need we got 1 roll of toilet paper /bath no soap for shower 2 kitchen garbage bags no sponges and no broom.
They knew for 3 months that there would be six of us staying for a week. It was never stated in the advertisement for the house.
“They said it’s not their policy to stock the house”
They did deliver a broom on Tuesday.
So buy your own supplies ahead of time and you’ll be fine.
Bring binoculars to see the elk grazing in the distant pastures.

Really great place.
Very comfortable and great layout for big groups. View is amazing. Centrally-located and easy to access relative similar homes in the area. This is a great find.
This mountain home was very nice and clean. The view from the balcony was spectacular!!

If you are looking for a true mountain getaway then this is your cabin! Great layout with a wet bar on the first floor and kitchen and bedrooms upstairs. The views are amazing. The cabin is beautiful with nice mountain touches. Fireplaces and bbq grill worked great!! We would be delighted to come back. Thanks!

Over rated
The place looks good and in a good location, it's amenities listed a gas grill, fire pit, fireplace and direct TV, when you travel from out of state you at the amenities and understand you pay a cost for them, the list of 4 important things didn't work and we spoke to several people, 2 phone calls, 5 emails and several text messages and after all of my efforts not a single person showed up to fix anything. We paid up front and got shafted I would not recommend this management team to anyone. We also took very good photos of all the items and the awful none working conditions they were in.

Amazing View!
My friends and I had a really amazing time at Bear Bottoms Welcome. The house was perfectly sized for the four of us, the bedrooms were very comfortable, and the view was to die for! We made great use of the firepit (S'MORES!!) and spent tons of time outside. My only complaint was getting past the gate into the community. We followed the instructions given and the gate never opened up on the first try. We would have to press the code many times before the gate would open. We never even figured out what we were doing right to get it open - it would just magically open after at least 10 tries. Overall, I was very happy with this home and would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Property was just as advertised and the view was incredible. Clean and bright with all the amenities . The road up to the cabin was challenging and steep, so we opted to leave our trailer at the storage place at the entrance to the street ( worked out well ). A “fall” view with the trees in color would be even more incredible. A nice stay in a nice cabin and we enjoyed this opportunity . Thank you .
Our family had a wonderful time at Bear Bottoms. The house is very spacious and secluded, the view is amazing.

Didn’t Want To Leave
The view was unmatched. The seclusion and isolation is what we wanted. We had not had a family vacation in 25 years. The Vacasa app is a permanent fixture on my phone now.
