Perfect for a family stay !!!! It was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. Two things would make it better King Beds and fans to block noise from Hwy.
We enjoyed our stay in Crescent City. The house was wonderfully located right across from a large beach. Crossing the highway wasn't a problem, just required some patience. Other reviews are correct in that the front bedrooms are noisy with road noise - we brought sound machines and the noise wasn't an issue. House was spacious with a nicely stocked kitchen.
The house had more room than the pictures show. It easily held our large family. It is in a great location. The manager was great and responded to us quickly when asking to stay an additional night.
Loved this property! Plenty of space for a multi-family vacation and great location. The only downside was that the property is directly on the main thoroughfare so the road noise was a bit loud for sleeping - would definitely recommend bringing a sound machine. Otherwise no complaints!
The property was as described but there happened to be a resident elk herd that wondered by about 30' from the back porch so that made the stay pretty cool.
The property was great and the proximity to South Beach was fantastic. Alex was very easy to work with, and helped out in many unique ways. My one concern is the property is not quite right for young families. The HWY right by provides obvious concern, and they is a small bike shop immediately next door, providing a little uneasiness about letting kids play in the fenced yard. There is also no toys, plastic dishes, or kid friendly movies in the property.
Otherwise great! Thank you!
Quirky little house that is so much more spacious than it looks on the listing. Plenty of room for the family. Well equipped kitchen and a good gas grill too!
The house is in a slightly odd location on the edge of town right by the road - with no trees or shrubs to shelter it. But you quickly realize the privacy is fine. Perfect location for exploring the beaches, redwood forests, rivers and look offs. Hiking and walking trails of every level are close by. The beach is right across the road and perfect for long walks, surfing and boogie boarding (wetsuit recommended and you can rent nearby). Great fresh seafood right up the road on the docks.
My sister and I brought our families here for a week long getaway. Everyone had a great time and had plenty of room to spread out - the photos online do not do this house justice, it is much bigger in person. We loved the fenced yard, the lack of noisy neighbors (although there was a little bit of highway traffic noise that bothered my sister for a night or two because she lives in the country and isn't used to hearing anything at night), and the ability to walk across the street and be on the beach. We had a beach bonfire, went sand dollar hunting (go south to the crescent beach motel at low tide and start walking south on the beach and you'll find tons of them, you're welcome), hiked the various redwood parks, went to the aquarium, visited the trees of mystery, and even went to public swim at the city pool on the day the fog persisted into the afternoon. Being able to cook our own food was a blessing as we have some family with food allergies and aren't big fans of eating a lot of fast food. The house was clean, the appliances were in good working order, the check in and out was super easy, all communications prior to our arrival were professional and timely. We didn't have any problems during our stay so I can't comment on the customer service in that regard. We loved our stay and if we come back to this area of the coast again in the future we'd love to stay here again!
We liked the "privacy" of the homes location. At first it was disconcerting to see it standing all alone just off hwy 101. But appreciated that there were no neighbors but so close to everything to see and do. Well stocked home with all the emenities needed.
Great centralized location for visiting the redwoods, Smith river, and beach. Very convenient for our family vacation, and everyone had a comfortable bed to sleep in!
We enjoyed staying here. It’s right on the highway so it’s noisy at night. You also have to cross the highway to get to the beach. There is a full fenced area which was great for our kids. Convenient location. Beds were comfortable, tv was up to date and easy to use. One downside was that there were so many flies.
Nice location, right across from a very pretty beach. Lots of road noise though. Bring a fan or white noise machine if that's going to bother you. (The bedrooms were a bit stuffy but opening the window at night wasn't an option.) Also the kitchen is not well stocked. Bring anything you think you might need. (Note that the coffee maker is a pod type.) Other than that though, great rental for the price. Lots of bedrooms... great for a group or a couple of families vacationing with kids. A whole herd of Elk wandered through the yard one of the mornings. We saw sea lions and seals in the bay and found sand dollars on the beach. I would definitely rent again.
My family had a wonderful time staying at this rental house. Before they left we were already planning their next trip. This is a great location, right next to the beach but still close to town. The fenced in yard was perfect for our small dog and little kiddos to play. The house is clean, with hard wood flooring and a wide open area for visiting. We had a blast and can't wait to stay again. Thanks Linda :)
Easy access to all the necessities and sites to see
Right on hwy 101 which I was worried about but was not a problem. The house was well cared for and just right for the 5 adults and 3 children in our group
