Wishing We Could Have Stayed and Sat On The Porch A Spell Longer
Our six kiddos were THRILLED when we arrived! We had a busy couple of days visiting Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, and The Island. Being able to chill at the Lodge was just what everyone needed! Cornhole, the hot tub, Jenga, cards ….. so much to do and not enough time 🙄. We were pleased with the cabin and all the amenities. Had everything we needed to make our stay delightful! (PS - we all want a waffle maker like this one!) …. and, the complimentary carmels were AMAZING ! Thank you for the wonderful top quality shampoos, conditioners, and soaps! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR MOUNTAIN HOME WITH US 👱‍♀️

Great multi family home
We had the best time at Oakley’s! We came to Tennessee to visit our family who’d recently made the move from California, and we wanted to entertain our kids at Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for a long weekend. The lodge’s kid room was amazing with a 6 person bunk bed and many games, comfy couch and TV. The decor, the decks and the outside fire pit all added to our experience being so fun. The only downside is how noisy the beds were, especially for my sister who had an infant who’d wake up with the sound of her parents turning in bed. We would definitely come back!

Relaxing family time
Our family of 6, including 4 married adult kids, had a wonderful stay at Oakley's Mountain lodge in Gatlinburg. The property is gorgeous and well stocked/maintained. We utilized the grill outside for several meals and breakfasts were snappy cooked on the cooktop griddle. Each evening the firepit provided a fun time of smores and sitting under the stars. All of us enjoyed cornhole tournaments (complete with prizes) and the shuffleboard table while the guys particularly appreciated the arcade games. The time we spent in Gatlinburg was a time of refreshment for us all with a slower pace and lots of relaxation and family time at the lodge. We took a couple of hikes and scenic drives, shopped in the arts and craft "district" around the corner from the lodge, got delicious shakes and drinks at the soda fountain, and enjoyed an afternoon ziplining at C.L.I.M.B.Works (which was well worth the slightly pricey price tag). When I needed something, John was very quick to reply. Enjoyable stay!

Great Location
This house was great for our girls trip. We had six children between us and they really enjoyed the bunk room and that gave the adults each a king room. We enjoyed the amenities like the hot tub, yard jenga and corn-hole.

Must stay!
Our family traveled to Gatlinburg for a long weekend. Everything was great. The owners were easy to get ahold of and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. We arrived at the cabin and had no issues getting inside. The cabin was clean and exactly what we expected. The location was perfect and close to everything we wanted to do. Be sure to buy a magnet from the fridge. Super cute souvenir. We got home and regretted not buying one. We plan on staying here again the next time we’re in TN.

We loved Oakley’s Mountain Modern Lodge. It was peaceful, quiet and cozy with plenty of space. Short 5 mile drive from downtown Gatlinburg was nice too. Hot tub and large king beds were an excellent way to relax after a long day.

Beautiful and clean
The cabin is beautifully furnished and very clean. When we arrived, we had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen is fully stocked, making it convenient to cook meals. Washer and dryer were supplied with detergent pods. Bathrooms were stocked with soaps. Enjoyed the oversized swing on the deck! Family friendly. Good location for getting to and from the National park. Quiet neighborhood. John was great. Highly recommend staying here.

Mountain Getaway
The cabin is cute and well-appointed. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and a dishwasher (thank goodness!) The dining table was big enough for 10 of us to be able to sit down for meals & games! Having three master bedrooms was really nice to maintain privacy. The beds were squeaky and the basement master was noisy at times due to the on-demand water heater being in the closet down there. The bunks were kinda tight for tall teens (beds are plenty long enough, but one of the teens was not comfortable on them) and the setup was a little awkward since the only bathroom in the basement was in the master bedroom down there...so two of the kids had to go all the way to the top floor to use the bathroom in parents' room. The master bedroom on the main level is right off the kitchen and was perfect for grandparents who didn't want to have to do stairs. The house is up a pretty steep hill & surrounded by forest. Doesn't have much of a view, which was not an issue for us, but something to keep in mind if you want to look out a window and see for miles. It would have been nice if the windows had screens - at least the upstairs ones where you wouldn't have to worry about bears tearing into them. Seemed a little strange to be able to open windows, but not have them. It was within a few miles of everything in Gatlinburg, but took forever to get anywhere likely due to us choosing to travel during fall break. Just important to plan accordingly!

Volleyball Week
What a lovely, cozy, and clean home. The house is centrally located to all Gatlinburg has to offer for our volleyball week. The house is a three minute drive to the Rocky Top Complex, and about 20 minutes from Pigeon Forge and the Smokey Mountains. Our favorite place was the back porch. It was like another room with the bed swing, rocking chairs, lights, and games. We spent a lot of time there chatting, playing, and relaxing. Thanks for giving us a nice place to come home to after long days at the tournament. Beds were comfortable and communication with the owner was easy and timely. Our group will definitely return to the Oakley Mountain Lodge.

Exceeded expectations, beautiful and had everything we needed
Our accommodations were beyond expectations. Location had views but activities were accessible- the perfect blend. A lot has gone into making this cabin retreat both beautiful and functional. 3 generations stayed and all felt pampered. First floor for grandparents, large soaking tub and hot tub for busy parents to take a break and SO many activities for the children- ours were ages 4 - 10. They didnt want to leave. We're hoping to book next year.

Exceeded our expectations!
The Oakley was everything we needed and more. It was a home away from home. We had 6 kids with our group, ages from 5-12 and two adult children. This cabin suited everyone needs. It was easy to get to, quiet and just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Gatlinburg. Plenty of amenities and supplies. It had many comfortable relaxing spots, whether by the fire or decks. The porch bed! The kitchen had completely new appliances. It was also clean!!! We are excited to plan our next trip! John and Jenn, Thank you for being our home base while we were explored The Great Smokey Mountains!

Stop looking you just found your Smokey Mountain Vacation stay
Everything about Oakley's Mountain Modern Lodge is fabulous! The property is in a very small neighborhood and so quiet. Firstly it was so clean and well equipped. The hosts really has thought about the little things, even down to salt and pepper. Their digital guidebook is so helpful, not just about the property but about places of interest and shopping guides. The host checked in with us the day after we arrived to see if there was anything we needed, which we didn’t as they had already thought about everything. Our family of twelve had plenty of room. The 6 grandchildren loved the bunkbeds. The property is close to a grocery store and minutes from Downtown Gatlinburg. Cades Cove is a must! We were fortunate enough to see three Black Bears, one very close up. Pigeon Forge had lots of attractions and places to eat. If you have children (up to teens) The Island is a must. We purchased the day pass which is actually valid for two days. Our grandchildren really did get their moneys worth out of the rides. We had a morning at Ripley's Aquarium, which was fun. I would suggest buying your tickets online to avoid the ticket window and go early. Don't eat at the Rampant Lion, the food and service was awful. We all enjoyed our stay at the property and hope to visit again in the near future. Thank you John and Jenn for opening this home up to us. We have made so many wonderful memories.

Awesome!
This is a beautiful new home with lovely furnishings. It is close to Gatlinburg and about 20 minutes from Pigeon Forge, if you go the back way. Summer traffic in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge is horrendous so try to avoid the Parkway as much as you can, but both destinations are awesome and so much fun! My family said it was more fun than Disney World which is saying a lot because they LOVED Disney World. Of all the amusement places we went while we were there, my 6 grandchildren (ages 10-14) and the adults loved the Outdoor Gravity Park, which is zorbing, the most so make sure you check it out. Dollywood is a great amusement park! It is so clean and the roller coasters are very smooth, a must if you love roller coasters! We also were absolutely wowed and in awe of Erik Dobell and the Impossibilities Magic, Mindreading and Mayhem show. You just won't believe what he does! In summary, this is a great house in a great location, and the owners respond immediately if you have any questions. We had absolutely no issues for the short time (3 days) we were there and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Dreamy retreat!
This home is as beautiful as it looks online. We were so impressed by all the thoughtful details, the bright and sunny spaces and the warmth. This was the perfect place for our family, including 3 kids 17-21. We could spread out but also had great spaces to be together. Gatlinburg has become a tourist disaster but the Great Smoky Mountains are still exactly that and this home is a terrific home base for exploring them. We relied on the hosts' recommendations for grocery shopping, restaurants and hikes and had a fantastic week.

We're John & Jenn! John is a REALTOR® and real estate investor. Jenn is a designer, home stager, & homeschool mom of 5. Together we own & operate a boutique vacation rental company we call Mountain Modern Lodges. We personally manage every aspect of the vacation rental experience in order to create a bespoke experience for our guests. We welcome you to stay in one of our carefully curated properties and enjoy a fabulous time with family or friends!

Why they chose this property

We built Oakley's Mountain Modern Lodge as a 2nd home for our family to enjoy and to share with friends and family like you! We love the location being so close to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg, and only a short drive to Pigeon Forge. The location on the east side of Gatlinburg has significantly less traffic and multiple ways in & out.

What makes this property unique

We incorporated design ideas from our travels around the world into this home.

We love the 6 bunk beds made from reclaimed wood from a 90-year-old Tennessee schoolhouse. Each space is unique yet luxurious from the hanging bed on the back porch to the private loft by the Fox Hole Suite.

The kitchen was designed around being able to cook for our family of 7 plus friends and extended family. We wanted to provide everything that a family or families might need to make their stay as good or better than what's at home.

Each of the three master suites features a hotel collection mattress and linens. An en-suite custom bathroom is attached to each master as well.

We love the outdoor spaces too! The upper deck features a hand-made hanging bed and rocking chairs. The lower deck has a hot tub on one side and a sitting area outside of the Bear Cave on the other. The fire pit is a great place to sit back and relax while sharing stories about your trip! It doubles as a charcoal grill that's large enough to cook for the whole family. After dinner, be sure to roast a marshmallow over the fire!
