Our stay at your property was wonderful! The convenience to everything in town was great and the vouchers for breakfast at the Kind Café were a nice added bonus. My only constructive criticism would be the room was very warm despite the air conditioner being on at its coolest setting. Perhaps a stronger AC unit or a fan would be helpful. Otherwise an ABSOLUTELY beautiful property! Looking forward to booking with you again in the future. Thanks Beverly!
Suite Maryanne is fabulous! If you have reason to visit Selinsgrove, this is a perfect place to stay - right on Market Street, walking distance to Susquehanna University and the fabulous dining options right in town - Kind Cafe, BJs, Isabella's. Charming old building with beautiful details in architecture and decor. A fabulous stay!!
We traveled to Lewisburg to watch our daughter swim in the PIAA championships. Rather than staying at a chain location we selected this lovely room. Beverly was great and responsive to any questions.
Good location and charming accommodations.
We love staying at the Suite Mary Ann! Beverley is an amazing hostess and helps make the entire process a breeze. The location and accommodations are perfect for our quick visits to Selinsgrove!
Beautiful room with lots of space, Very comfortable bed. Loved the early check in and parking for a second car. Room was a little warm for sleeping, but with the temperature in the 90s, that is understandable.
A well executed renovation of a historical home. The bathroom is all new and clean while the living areas retain historical character and charm with modern amenities and air conditioning.
Would have appreciated photos of the building exterior and parking just to have an impression formed of what to expect.
We were in town for Susquehanna's Graduation. Beverly met us when we arrived, showed us the room and gave us the key. The room is spacious with lots of windows and great natural light. We were able to walk to breakfast, the river, and graduation!! The bed was comfortable; however, the water pressure in the shower was extremely low. Breakfast at the Kind Cafe was very good and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We had a great stay!
We booked this room for parent's weekend at Susquehanna University and were very pleased with the room, the location, and the overall comfort of the place. The bed was especially comfortable and being within walking distance of the campus, as well as local restaurants and shops made it a perfect place to stay. While the door lock on the front door can be a little tricky at first, once you do it, you shouldn't have any issues.
The bathroom is nicely done and yes, the hot water does take a while to get to the shower, just turn it on, let it run and go brush your teeth and after a few minutes the hot water will be there.
The only minor thing I want to address is that toilet location may be an issue for any guests "of size". Because of the placement of the radiator, anyone who is tall or of a larger stature may have to angle themselves while on the toilet, as there is not much room for traditional leg placement. It wasn't a dealbreaker for me or my husband, but I just wanted to mention it.
We would definitely stay here again!
Beverly's communication was quick and efficient. Check in was as she detailed and the room was comfortable and clean. We will be back when we come through the area again. Thank you for your hospitality!
This was perfect charming weekend getaway that the wife and I needed! The host was very welcoming and communicative through the VRBO chat. There is a small tv in the room and a mini fridge. The towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner were all very luxurious.
The breakfast place was delicious and was a one minute walk down the street. Please try a latte and a breakfast sandwich on ciabatta.
We had dinner at BJ's which was also a one minute walk down the street. The Bongo Bongo Chicken and crab dip is crazy good.
Two things that you do need to keep in mind though:
1. The locks are old and will be a bit of a challenge to re-lock.
2. Let the water warm up for a few minutes (the host makes this very clear, so it shouldn't be an issue).
We would definitely choose to stay here again!
This is a lovely old home that has been beautifully restored. The room includes some quirks that go along with an old building, but it is a wonderful stay and the location is amazing!
Beverly explained everything in her VRBO communications. The room was mostly clean and very quiet. We enjoyed reading about the history of the property, the renovations and preservation efforts and the people who lived here in the past. I found this to be a comparable price to the hotels on "the strip" and so much more convenient to walk to the restaurants and river. The shower takes some time to heat up and I think other reviewers mentioned this but I had a few minutes to spare so this was no big deal and can be expected in an older home!
The mattress, towels, ease of check-in, cleanliness, and decor were great. We appreciated being able to walk to restaurants, shops and the Farmer's market. I believe this set-up is brand new ... if it had the standard niceties (wifi, water and soda in the fridge, lotion, drinking glasses) it would be ideal. The a/c unit could not compete with the outdoor temperatures so it was pretty warm, but it was an unusually hot day. It would be nice if there was a sign in the bathroom indicating it takes a good five minutes to get any warm water. If you are used to sleeping in the country, you will need an eye mask and earplugs. I do think it is on the pricier side for the location. My favorite part was the king size bed and mattress. That was a treat!
It was a truly a lovely place to stay for our daughter s graduation at Bucknell University. The room was spotless and Beverly was extremely responsive and available. My only criticism is there needs to better instructions on how to work the key. It is an old lock and needs very specific directions. We spent a long time trying to work it. Other than that, it’s a great find if you are in the area!!!
