I tried to cancel two months before
When my sister was dying of ovarian cancer, I cancelled this booking back in April, two months before the booking. I was hoping to get a refund on my deposit. However, even though it appears that you are alerting the owner/manager of the property, nothing gets through to them.
I contacted HomeAway to let them know but they obviously didn't alert the poor owner because I am still getting notices asking if I enjoyed my holiday.
So I have lost over 900 Euros and the poor man who owns the property missed out on getting the remainder of the rent for the period I would have been staying.
My advice.......do NOT book with HomeAway as there is no way that you can actually have any dialogue with the owner as you do with other booking sites. I certainly will NEVER book with HomeAway again ever.
I apologise profusely to the owner if he ever gets to read this. I would loved to have come to your property as it looks truly beautiful but sadly it was not to be. Kind regards Loz Copley
