Beautiful place on the lake. Very relaxing and good fishing. House is nice but could use some updating but fine for a vacation. I would go back again.

2024 adventure

Very private location. A great place to relax and unwind. The camp was well stocked with paper products, dishes, pots and pans and plenty of towels and linens. We saw a few spiders but, it's camp! There was spray for those! They even had stuff for a dog. Feeding bowls, a runner outside and a few toys. We loved it here!

Pond, Weather, Location

Loved the pond, weather was perfect for being in the water, location is private & quiet. The cottage needs a few things to be looked at. I left the owner a note. Otherwise we had a perfect 10 vacation on Brettuns Pond. We will be back.

Amazing!

I grew up on this pond and finding this rental was like a needle in a haystack. The place is beautiful and there is plenty of privacy. The swimming area was perfect for our two dogs and my 5 year old grandchild. We will definitely be coming back every year! We are so happy to finally find a place that we can consistently go to!

Get away and gathering

It was our fourth or fifth year renting the cabin. Great place to get away and have a one day family gathering. It was well furnished, the exterior cooking area was great once again. Probably be back next year.

Retreat in the pines

Such a great location.. easy to get to NH, the Maine coast and farther North, all within 90 minutes. Secluded in the pines and serenaded by the loons.. doesn't get any better! We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Cozy rustic cabin

Cabin was well stocked with supplies and just about anything you could need. The cabin could definitely use some upgrades including a way of locking the premises, shower losing warm water consistently, and mice definitely being active. Yard had a lot of dog poop that wasn't cleaned up. Overall enjoyed our stay due to location and privacy of the beautiful lakefront property.

Great stay at the lake

We loved walking Iggy the Great Pyrenees along the long driveway and swimming in the lake all week. Great kitchen, bedroom and living room with tv for rainy days. Great places to visit and hike and restaurants! Thank You!

Rustic cabin with amenities

My husband and dog spent a lovely week in this waterfront cabin. As a 2 bedroom cabin it is small. I could see a small family (couple and 2 kids) staying in it. There is a futon, but the main concern is a very small bathroom with a stall shower. So that might be difficult with smaller children. Of course, it is all about the lake, and the somewhat isolated setting of the house. Lovely sunset view. This house is described as vintage, and that is appropriate. Outfitted with some vintage furnishings. Lots of room outside to spread out. Sunset view over the mountains. Biggest plus is solitude and water frontage, be aware this is a populated pond with pontoon boats and kayakers. We chose this location as a base to explore Northwest mountain area, and also Mt Washington NH, all within 2 hour drive. Biggest downside has to be the bathroom. It is very small. Which is why I would discourage a larger family. Ideal for 1 couple plus a dog! If you like nature, and exploring this part of Maine is great. Hiking trails are everywhere. Most ponds/lakes had easily found public access.

Emphasis on rustic.

Location was great. Furnishings were old, one recliner didn’t work. The entire place needs a deep cleaning, but it is advertised as rustic. It’s a great camping place and did offer all we needed for our stay. The fact that we were not able to lock the cabin when we were away was a little disconcerting. I would stay again but might plan on bargaining for a better cleaning. Was overall fair for the price.

This was my third time staying at the camp.

I didn’t give the highest score because the propane tank was empty and no backup. The futon was broken very uncomfortable to sit on and couldn’t use it as a bed. For some reason, the lifevest were missing it made it difficult for people to use the canoe and kayak. It seems to me some of the towels were missing from the previous two years. The dock has soft spots on it. It took a week for the owner to respond to my message. I am waiting to get reimbursed for the propane but all in all I will probably be back next year. Hopefully these issues will be resolved. Richard E

Total privacy

We read the listing and knew what to expect, rustic cabin. It’s an old days living cabin and was great! The lot is unmatched with any of of vacations yet! All the frontage and dock was perfect for our boat. If your thinking polished marble go to the Caribbean! This is Maine lake life to it s best! Thank you for the time at your cabin.

Quiet week in a Cabin

Location was really nice, many homes on the Pond but well spaced out with lots of tree coverage so it still felt really private. Water was calm, perfect temperature with only a few boaters each day, everybody waived and was quite friendly when cruising by. The private beach area with floating dock was great, we brought our jet ski to enjoy for the week and being able to pickup people and drop off right at the house was awesome. The ponds boat launch is very shallow so needed to muscle it off the trailer a bit as I didn't want half my van underwater to launch it. Cabin was clean inside and out, there were spider webs around the outside but it's a rustic cabin in a heavily wooded area so nothing that was unexpected or excessive and we didn't find any bugs indoors or covering furniture. Wifi worked well but we did have to reset the modem 2 or 3 times during the week, took a few minutes to power up and it was fine. Photos and description are very accurate, home has everything we needed, furniture and kitchen items are just a bit dated but we had no problems, great little spot for the price and we enjoyed our week 100%. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Cozy, comfortable, private location! The covered deck, the large outdoor area and beach area were exceptional. The water was beautiful and the perfect swimming spot for humans and dogs :) Communication was as expected, the camp had everything we needed. I’m hoping to book again next year, Thank you!

Too Rustic

What a disappointment! I've stayed at other rentals in Maine on a lake and this one was so disappointing. Dead bugs and spiders greet you at the door and the door doesn't even lock. The wifi is terrible, nonexistent, buffers forever. Bathroom on the other side of the house, which is in very poor condition, so good luck if you have to use it at night. We were so unhappy with this "rustic" place that we left and stayed at Comfort Inn Hotel. What a rip off. Want a refund ASAP

Rustic cabin, not cleaned

Overall was disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin, there were mouse droppings in the shower, soap holder and in some of the cabinet drawers. We did ask the owner to do another cleaning and he showed up but did not clean what we asked. There was no way to secure your belongings since the back slider lock was broken. Other small things were the satellite was not activated (we tried) and the Wifi is very limited use but that comes with the cabin in the woods. overall not worth the price, if you are going to charge a cleaning fee then you should get a company to come in and do a professional job. would not recommend this place to anyone.

Rustic Lake Home

There is no physical address to this property so you must obtain directions and then look for marking sign that says F-32. The drive up to the house is beautiful. The front porch is covered and overlooks the pond. There are canoes, kayaks, picnic bench, dock, and wooden bench next to fire pit along the pond. The water appears to be very clear. The home is very vintage but homey and relaxing. There are sinks in each of the bedrooms. Twin bedroom has a rack of various sized life jackets. The beds in this room are not supported for anyone over an average of 100 lbs because of lack of foundation (box spring). Living room furniture is very outdated and didn’t seem safe to sit in (integrity of recliners). The view from the living room is great and also the front porch on a rainy day. The kitchen is well stocked and also has a wonderful view out unto the trees and pond. The bathroom shower is small and there is no sink in bathroom, but washing up in kitchen or bedrooms was fine. The laundry room is accessible from the outside through metal cellar style doors with steep steps. The woods separate you from the neighbors so you feel secluded. There is traffic noise from hwy 4 that travels across the pond. We found out at last minute there is no fishing allowed after Sept 30 for winter season. The night sky is viewable from the dock area. Sitting by a fire at the pond was very nice. Had trouble connecting to wi-fi and was not resolved. Overall the home was clean and inviting and we would stay here again if furniture was updated to better quality and more dependable and we can get connected to wi fi.

Cabin getaway

Cabin on the lake, great for small boats or kayaks. Lake was beautiful and clear. The cabin could use some TLC but was suitable for our needs. I would suggest a new mattress and new couch. Cabin is loaded with anything you might need. Thanks for letting us share your space.
