Newer house in gated beach community, private backyard pool with optional heat, normally needed early Spring & late Fall. Split bdrm design with 3 king bdrms + 4th bdrm with XL Twin over Queen bunkbed + trundle that will sleep 4 children (or 2 adults plus 2 children).
Why stay in a cramped condo and share a pool with strangers when you can have the privacy and convenience of your own home & pool. All 4 bdrms have TV & full length mirrors, 3 bdrms have DVD players. King bdrms & living room have ceiling fans. Attached Garage to unload luggage and groceries, instead of climbing stairs or riding elevators. Gas grill on pool patio for grilling at home if you don't want to go out for dinner.
Fully equipped kitchen with Granite and Stainless, French door fridge with 2 ice makers. Separate utility room with full size W/D, Keyless Entry, 2 car garage with key pad so everyone can come and go without keys. For children's safety, house has pool alarm on back door + extra deadbolt up high. SimplySafe alarm on front door for your optional use. 2 sets of garage door openers & community gate remotes provided.
Pool can be heated for a fee of $275/week, usually needed early Spring and late Fall. Please note: Pool heater will not work when temps get below 40 degrees.
House is approximately 500 yards from beach. Complimentary seasonal Beach Service provided (March thru Oct) on our private beach, called Seashells Beach. You can walk to our beach or drive 0.3 mile east to free beach parking by Pompano Joe's & the beach restrooms. Close to everything in Destin: Silver Sands Outlet Mall, Destin Commons Mall, Grand Boulevard, Harborwalk, restaurants & Marina.

We currently live in OH but have also lived in CA, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. All of these places have beautiful beaches but none compares to Destin, FL!
Why they chose this property
We both grew up vacationing along the Emerald Coast so it has always been our favorite place to visit. We frequently vacationed here with our 2 kids and now our 5 little grandchildren (ages 1 to 8) love Destin too. We first bought a 2 bdrm condo but as our family grew, we needed more room. We thought we'd miss the ocean view from our condo but found we much prefer the privacy of a single family home with private pool. Whenever we rent properties in other locations, we prefer single family homes. Much quieter and more private than condos.
What makes this property unique
We chose this house because we loved the split bedroom design and the fact that it has one of the largest back yards in the neighborhood. Mike is a civil engineer so he designed the pool himself to fit our yard and still leave room for a large patio. We added more palm trees along the pool and the back of the yard to create a more tropical feel. The community is gated and sits across from our gorgeous private beach.
