Property was beautiful and cozy. Super close to the entrance to RMNP. Tiny apartment sized fridge, no stove - mediocre electric cooktop - thank goodness for the grill; shower had very little pressure; several lightbulbs out and bedroom lamp flickered and seemed to have a short.
Very nice place, clean and convenient.
Location is perfect, close to Rocky Mountains National Park.
Small Supermarket right in front of the rental.
Fire place was awesome for the time of the year that we were there.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean and the gas fireplace made it very cozy. What was especially great was the distance to the RMNP entrance, which was just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road. That was very handy for our early timed entrance tickets. The only complaint we had was the mattress had a divot in the middle and could use to be updated. I could see if you have a bad back this wouldn't be a great bed for you, but it was do-able for us. Thank you for a great stay!
The cabin was just what we needed and hoped for. Comfortable bed, ample living space and good sized bathroom, close to RMNP and downtown Estes shops. The check in/out process was a breeze and we would absolutely stay there again!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin! Very clean, comfortable, and cozy. Close to all the shopping and attractions without feeling like it. Will definitely be staying here again!
Absolutely loved my time here. The property was clean and organized, check in process was a breeze. It’s proximity to RMNP was perfect, only about 8 minutes from the entrance. Spent every day out hiking and exploring the park well into nightfall which made this VRBOs short drive all the more lovely. It is perfectly situated close to a grocery store and several great eateries, gas is right across the street. Views from the VRBO couldn’t be better, glacier peaks easily viewable from just about every window/door. It was the perfect place to stay, and traveling alone I couldn’t have felt safer. Would stay here again for every trip to RMNP.
We had lovely views from the cabin and deer in the yard. What more could we ask for. The driveway up to the cabin could use repair but otherwise it was perfect for us.
Super cute and cozy one bedroom cabin just off the beaten path from town!! Quick and close walking distance to convenience market that has everything you’d need, coffee shops and restaurants too! The bed was very comfy in the main bedroom. The couch bed was not your average old spring mattress - memory foam! For a sleeper sofa, this was very comfy!! Only complaint I’d have to say was that there wasn’t a single fan in the entire place to turn on. There was an exhaust fan in the bathroom that didn’t work and a heater that will be wonderful for those cold winter mountian nights, just nothing to create a breeze when the weather for us was very hot - 90 degrees! Would highly recommend this place for a quick trip too town or even a long weekend away!
Near entrance to RMNP. Good grocery store and restaurant across the highway, which is not hard to cross on foot, and saves you fighting with the traffic jam in downtown Estes.
Although right off highway, it was quiet at night.
The cottage was clean and well kept. It was super close to rmnp entrance and not to far from downtown. It allowed us to really get to know the Estes area, first time there. Other guests were considerate of the quiet hours. Small market across the street was nice and we walked to burgers and gyros a couple of times, good food. All around good experience at Lazy R.
Picture of the front of the cabin is a little misconceiving. For unit B which is the ground floor only of the beautiful cabin. The futon couch is not good for sitting on.
We enjoyed our stay at The Cottages. There are definitely things that could be done to the place that would make it much better. Hooks or shelves in the bathroom to hang your clothes on and your hand towel on. And the water pressure was non existent in the shower. The carpeting is old and needs replaced. However none of these things kept us from enjoying our time in Estes Park. But I wouldn't have wanted to stay here longer than 2 nights.

Cute cabin. Nicely decorated. Great view of the mountains. The property is in a nice location. Close to RMNP and close to the main drag in Estes.
It was adequate for 3. There was one bedroom and a sofa bed.
We stayed in the bottom half of the cabin. If you have people staying in the top cabin, you can hear them.
The towels were very nice. Bathroom was stocked with the usual amenities. The property will deliver fresh linens and other amenities as requested.
Kitchenette is small. No basic provisions are provided other than coffee and some seasonings. The coffee pot was new and worked well. There is a microwave. You will find a toaster oven and a 2 burner hotplate in the closet.
Very limited kitchen supplies if you plan on cooking.
But the cabin was very clean and we enjoyed our stay.

Noisy
We stayed in the lower level of a two unit building. The family staying above us had two young children who ran around the unit until late at night. The building seems to have no noise dampening between floors so it sounded like a herd of buffalo were racing above us and it was impossible to sleep.
I left a message for the manager asking if we could be moved to a different unit as there were vacancies. However, the management never even responded.. They completely ignored the issue and that is the reason for the low rating. I have been using vacation rentals for 15 years and have even owned a few, and I have never seen such indifference from a manager.
Bed and futon were comfortable but we won't be returning to this property. 2 of 3 sliding doors had screens and no way to secure the doors at night without completely closing them which would have turned the flat into a sauna. Kitchenette was tiny, with barely a square foot of available counterspace to work on. Bathroom fan did not work and the noise from the upper unit kept us awake until 11pm the first night. I did have a good exchange with the after hours emergency contact who assured me she would call the upstairs guests.
Air flow in the flat is minimal, making keeping doors open necessary to take advantage of any kind of cool breeze that happens to blow. The road up to the flat is unpaved and scattered with holes and water tracks making a SUV or truck a necessity to drive up.
Such a cute condo for my solo staycation! Loved the gas fireplace and comfy couch. The bed was so comfortable and it was nice to have a bathtub for a bath. The condo is in the back of the complex away from the main road and has great views out of the 3 big sliding glass doors. Quick 5 minute drive into downtown Estes. Check in/out was very easy. Very very happy with my stay.
*note: this is a downstairs property and unfortunately my upstairs neighbors during my stay were not very contentious. Luckily, it didn’t last too long, but you can hear them through the walls/floor. They did respect the quiet hours so it was bearable.
Lazy-R-Cottages was a great place to stay! Close to town, restaurants, and Rocky Mountain National Park. Clean and nice area. Enjoyed our stay very much!
