There are two large king bedrooms and a bedroom with two twin beds. The kitchen and appliances are new. The spacious living/dining area is very comfortably furnished and has a tropical vibe. From this beautiful private beach you can swim, snorkel, and fish - or just enjoy the endless water view. The large heated pool is located for full enjoyment of the aquamarine ocean view. From the condo you can walk a mile of natural shoreline to a small public beach. Private groomed beach, natural beach, public beach - all from your door step! There are nearby paths for jogging and biking. From this location you are convenient to all Keys activities, sightseeing, and restaurants.

Girls trip

The location was amazing, beautiful views. Ocean front with pool right outside the door. The condo was nice, dated. Many vertical blinds missing from the living room and master bedroom. Location is great in the middle of the Keys, not far to the grocery and places to eat. The only major issue is with the condo was the A/C. At first the condo would only get to 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Contacted Mary and she suggested tips. Didn't help. Talked to her on multiple occasions. She finally sent someone out on Wednesday and they got it fixed on Thursday. Wednesday night was miserable 83 degrees all night. Check out time is.very early 9am. Only 2 towels per bedroom, not enough with no washer and dryer in condo. No bath mats, 4 wash rags, only 2 beach towels for 6 people in a 3 bedroom condo. Overall a great trip.

Girls Trip

6 women from Ohio and Arizona and we had a great time. The only difficulties we had was the skillets were not great and made it unpleasant to cook as we did breakfast every other day. And even though the hand book earns you about no see ums you can’t really prepare for them. I’m covered in bites and will have scars from them.

basic Keys condo on weedy beach

Bird of Paradise was clean and comfortable, but pretty basic in its amenities. The wifi was extremely weak, and really only worked on the pool-facing balcony. We found this made it difficult to do even basic web-based activities, like searching for information on local attractions, and impossible to do things like stream movies. The unit is oceanfront, however, the beach and water in this area have a lot of seagrass, which smells quite strongly, and we saw no one using the beach or in the water. It's part of the natural ecology, and present on all the beaches in the area, but it does significantly compromise the enjoyability. There is a very nice pool in the complex, however, and we spent many afternoons there. The kitchen is well equipped, with plenty of dishes, and enough cookware to make dinner and other meals. Bath towels and hand soap were provided, but extras, like shampoo/conditioner and beach towels are not. There was also an odd lack of towel hooks or other places to hang wet towels, swimsuits, etc. There are laundry machines on site, but they are coin operated, and we did not use them.

The best location

We loved this place. The property was in a perfect location. Well stocked. The pool was so nice. Right on the beach. Mary gave us a small cooler to use and it was perfect for what we needed. Honestly I can’t say enough nice things about this property and Mary!!!

A fire alarm kept going off all night the first night there. Urine on the toilets. Several new appliances so I guess the contractors didn't clean up after themselves. The beach was covered in seaweed plus it stunk to high heavens. Not planning on going back. Also the door to the unit was open when we got there but the keys were not in the unit (condo). My wife is a hospice nurse and could not believe how the bad there cleaning service is. I am a frugal CPA and this was the most we ever paid for a vacation unit and was disappointed. Our daugther had just graduateded from PA school and we wanted this vacation to be special but were disappointed.

Talk about location!!

We had a fantastic time staying here...it's one of two condos with the most perfect location. We made use of both balconies all week. The ocean view was ideal and we were literally 10 steps to the ocean. We fished right on the beach everyday. The condo is big and roomy though it could do with some updating in the master bath. Mary was the absolute best and after check in confusion on my part she replied immediately and solved everything!! It's a quiet and peaceful place to call home for a week with so many fantastic restaurants and sights within minutes of the condo. Everyone was so friendly and we definitely look forward to returning!

Birds of paradise condo

This was our first time staying in the keys for a week and we were not sure where to stay. We chose this complex because it was not in a busy area and had a public beach next to it that we were able to take walks on. There was just two of us and we did not need the three bedroom condo but chose it due to it being an end unit that has two balconies with one being about 50’ from the ocean. The condo was a little dated and the master bath defiantly showed it’s age. The kitchen appears to have been recently remodeled and looks nice. Overall, the condo was clean, well stocked and we did not have any issues. The complex grounds were well kept and clean . The pool was larger than most and heated. We did have a small issue with one of the dryers but the on-site management resolved the issue quickly. We would definitely stay here again.

Hidden Gem

Awesome location. It was so peaceful. Really great for groups and families that want to chill. Would like to have had more than one towel per person with our group of 6 for a week stay. Beds could use a foam topper for better comfort and a couple upgrades with fresh paint would put this place over the top.

Absolutely Wonderful

Host was very accommodating and responsive to any questions we had. Location was wonderful, very convenient to everything from dining, groceries, whatever we needed. Key West just a little over an hour away. Beach and pool both steps from the door! Great spot!!

Spacious and right on the beach!

My in-laws, husband, and I spent a week at Bird of Paradise Condo. The unit was right on the beach and perfect for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. We saw a sea turtle nesting the first night! The location was perfect for our group. The bedrooms and living space are very spacious. The bathrooms are small and outdated but nothing that would keep us from staying here again. Overall, it was a great value, and had everything you could need for a Keys vacation!

Perfect location, awesome ocean view

This rental was great for the number one reason to vacation in the Keys. The water! We enjoyed having two balconies, one overlooking the beach area and ocean, and the other overlooking the pool. Being the end unit you are literally steps from the beach. While not the huge white sand beaches of the gulf, the beach was not rocky and nice to walk on and or take a swim. The pool is huge and was heated nicely. It was so neat to be able to swim in the pool, or relax by the pool with the ocean view. Incredible. The complex itself is not big and there are many permanent residents. Absolutely everyone, residents and other travelers were welcoming and friendly. The complex is close to everything Marathon has to offer, which is alot, and only an hour away from Key West. The unit was very large and clean. The bedrooms were large as well. It easily accommodated 4 adults and 4 children. The unit was very nice, but not plushy. The bathrooms need an update but they were clean. Since all of our time was spent outdoors it certainly fulfilled our needs. There is some seaweed that washes up onto the shoreline, but it is cleaned up every morning. You can expect that oceanside. Overall a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back.

Pictures don't do justice

The location has spectacular view and far better than what pictures depict. The complex is very quit and great for families. Condo has great sound proofing feature which definitely is a big plus if you want to have a restful night. They are great family activities (such as dolphin encounters and aquarium) nearby. Key west is also an hour away. Our family had a great time in there.

Very nice unit. Dated but comfortable and clean. Great location - on the beach, nice pool.

While the unit is a bit dated, the beds and all furniture are comfy. Very spacious too, so that you don't feel like you are on top of each other. Kitchen remodeled. Not top of the line but good enough. I would recommend maybe a few more kitchen items - like a cookie sheet. But they are very accomodating there - on-site prop mgr. as well as mgmt co (dolphin).

I have been assisting people with vacation rentals here in the Florida Keys for over 25 years. The best part of my job is my guests - seeing so many of my guests year after year and to always have new guests to welcome. My vacation rental office is on Overseas Hwy right in the middle of the Keys. I'm only five minutes from the condos if any guest should need assistance and I am available by phone all of the time. Bird of Paradise is in a small condo complex of 35 apartments and is an end unit directly on the beach. Bird of Paradise has two spacious king bedrooms and a bedroom with two twin beds. There is a new kitchen with stainless appliances. The living area is large and comfortable. Because Bird of Paradise is an end unit it has two balconies overlooking endless ocean views. There is private groomed beach, large swimming pool located right on the beach front, and a tennis court. From the condo you can walk about a mile of natural shoreline to a nearby public beach. Private groomed beach, public beach, and natural beach all from your door step. Sunrise views on morning beach walks are amazing. Since this condo is not on a through street and has a beautiful path it is great for walking, biking, and jogging. Bird of Paradise is a very tropical waterfront setting for relaxing yet is still convenient to all Keys activities, restaurants, and sight seeing.
