If Fred Flintstone and Jed Clampett took their families on vacation, they'd rent 'Cabin on the Rocks'! Beautiful views - located smack dab between Deadwood and Sturgis. Won't see a neighbor - unless it's deer, turkeys or flicker tails! This spacious beauty has an open floor plan with loft, but the truly unique aspect is the separate master cabins. Once situated in Custer State Park - these master cabins have been relocated and rejuvenated. Separate outside entrances so you can avoid the main cabin if you wish. Sometimes you just need your own space ;). Smart TVS (5), internet, laundry, modern kitchen BUT you'll have to wash dishes or use paper plates as there is no dishwasher. Traegger pellet grill for that perfect evening outdoors to enjoy your viddles. Load up the truck and bring granny to the hills..... Not Beverly hills BUT the beautiful black hills of South Dakota and enjoy it while staying at the 'cabin on the rocks' ....yabba dabba Doo!

Nice Family Getaway

Nice property that fit 11 of us comfortably. Beautiful setting in the hills. Really would have been nice to have guard rails on the bunk beds especially the one towards the edge of the loft. Beds were comfortable. Close to Sturgis and which helped when something was needed. Kind of a pain to drive trash to Sturgis daily for disposal. Kitchen was well stocked for things we needed to use for cooking which was very helpful. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Start to finish Sherri made our trip the best it could be. She was fast to respond, eager and willing to allow us to use their property, and very flexible. She met all of accommodations and I would stay here again without a doubt

Great Place

I would definitely stay here again. Close to Sturgis and Deadwood. Showers are a bit small and had to dispose of our trash in town. Kitchen well stocked, but no containers for leftovers. Nice quiet, cozy place to stay. Nice washer and dryer.

Motorcycle pre rally week

The road was a little challenging on a motorcycle. Steep gravel. We managed just fine but would be bad for a newer rider. We had one small problem with a washed out driveway. The owner responded immediately and remedied the problem. It was not their fault. The property is absolutely beautiful. We were stunned at how peaceful it was. Deer in the yard every morning and night, The cabin is beautiful. We are normal middle class working people. For us, this cabin was an amazing place to stay where we could completely forget about normal life. Thank you for letting us rent it.

Beautiful Getaway

This trip for us was a bike trip/family trip. This was the perfect spot for us and really met all of our needs. The house has space for both socializing and privacy (if you are wanting a break from the larger group). Nice modern decor while still maintaining the 'cabin' feel. If you are an early riser , you are guaranteed to see the local wildlife. Between 5am-7am EVERYDAY, we were able to watch two sets of does with their fawns graze and play around the house. This was the same for the evening time frame as well. This was a favorite time for me to sit outside with my cup of coffee and just watch them move around- up close and personal! While the house has a secluded feel to it, it is just 5 mins from town in Sturgis and just a 10 min ride to Deadwood(with the most beautiful scenery along the way). The bikes made about 800 miles on the surrounding motorcycle routes including Iron Mountain Road and Needles Road. We also visited Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore/Keystone, which was just an hours drive. Cell service/WIFI was hit or miss for us. They did offer us a hot spot as well. We just unplugged for the week and enjoyed the company we had. Other than the lack of TV service to settle down at night- we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely book this cabin again next time we visit western South Dakota.

Beautiful and perfect location!

We loved how perfect this rental was for our stay. The place is absolutely stunning! It will sleep many people with large beds and three bathrooms. One of the best rentals I’ve ever stayed in for sure! The distance between Sturgis and Deadwood was great as we did different things in both towns on all days.

It was an excellent place to stay. It in woods, so yes tgere are bugs outside and inside!

Only complaint, fridge dirty on inside. I would definitely stay here again. Very nice place.

We were excited to stay in this beautiful area, but the cabin was not what we anticipated. Positive- The beds seemed pretty comfortable and I slept quite well each night, but this is where the excitement ended. We arrived to the house late in the evening and I quickly realized it wasn’t entirely clean. I had to clean each of the 3 bathrooms- toilets, sinks, floors and we decided to use only 1 shower to avoid extra cleaning. While I don’t expect perfection, I also don’t expect to see remnants of other peoples body hair and debris in the bathrooms. The silverware holder had food crumbs in it and dried food or sauce on several pieces of silverware. I washed each kitchen item before use. The refrigerator wasn’t clean and had leftover food in it from previous visitors (guidebook clearly states perishable food is to be disposed of before leaving) and I was told cleaning service was to do this after each visitor. These issues were brought to the hosts attention in an email. I felt dismissed when I read the response saying they live multiple hours away and have a cleaning service that had never had complaints before. While that may be true, it deflected ownership of the problem which I was left to clean up. Overall, the house needs a deep clean and attention to detail from the host and their local attendant/cleaning service. Bugs are a nuisance; there are bees at the kitchen entry door, living under the steps that lead to the door. There were countless giant ants along the perimeter of the window side of the home, most dead, but live ones were sighted daily. In the lower level bedroom off kitchen with two beds it seemed there is a gap in the door or wall seal because large bugs - dead and alive - were found on several nights which delayed bedtime for the kiddos. The lower level bedroom dressers were full of the hosts items so there was no place to store or hang clothing. We had to trek upstairs with each clothing change, and this empty dresser also needed each drawer wiped clean of debris and some of mouse feces. There is poor lighting in all bathrooms- a lady cannot apply makeup due to it being too dim. The internet is non-existent; cell service is great!(this is mentioned in listing). Hotspot was useless. Lastly the guidebook need updating and should include the info that’s in the email, which should also be updated. I expect more after paying nearly $2700 for my stay; I would not book again.

Short break from life mixed with a little piece of Heaven!

Pack your car/bike with your close and personal effects, and that’s pretty much all you need to bring to this cabin. Most everything else you will need will be there in the cabin. Had good weather the whole time we were there, and very much appreciated since we were all on bikes and had gravel to ride on plus going uphill to get to the cabin. Nice peaceful place to chill and watch wildlife!

Relaxing retreat

The cabin is beautiful as is the setting itself! It's close enough to everything the Black Hills has to offer but when you're at the cabin it's peaceful and relaxing! Would definitely stay here again!

Sturgis 2021

Great location just outside of sturgis ! Went with another couple and we used the 2 attached cabins. Never used the upstairs but would have been great for a larger group. The gravel road is a little tricky for motorcycles but we conquered it with no problems. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Perfextion

Such a beautiful cabin with areas for all of us. The loft was taken over by the teenagers, under the staircase for the toddlers, recliners, couch and kitchen for the rest of us The! The kitchen was perfect! We did not have streaming ability, but that turned out to be a good thing. Lots of games played! The bedrooms get warm if you close the doors at night, so definitely using fans to cool them before bedtime is beneficial. There were lots of basics food items in the kitchen that we appreciated. We saw chipmunks, deer and turkeys. Location between Deadwood and Sturgis was perfect. Loved it!

Beautiful getaway!

We booked our stay to celebrate our matriarch’s milestone birthday, and to enjoy time with family. We found the kitchen well-appointed, the beds plentiful (and comfy) and the views outstanding. We spent the weekend inside, playing games, watching movies, and enjoying each other’s company. Rustic and lived-in… this home was comfy and had the things we needed for a large group with many kiddos. Sherri was prompt and responsive!

Everything turned out ok. Was confusing at first trying to figure out how to turn everything on. Bedrooms were a little small and had couches and things that should have left out. Beds were small, but overall it worked.
