The lodge sits on the edge of Saganaga Lake, accessible to the Boundary Waters. The 2nd story deck overlooks the water. There is an entry point into the lake immediately adjacent to the property. This property has a dock you can swim off of, a canoe for guest use, a full kitchen/common area with TV, couches, large table, books, games, etc. This is a 'you bring and fix your own food' place, but there are restaurants on the Gunflint if you want to be served. Linens and towels are provided, as are soap, shampoo, and conditioner. In my room, there was a fan. There is a thermostat on the wall for the heater for cooler weather. Bekah, the property manager, is wonderful. Communication is key and she answered my million questions before I got there and was accessible throughout my entire stay. Because I stayed so long, we became great friends. Anything I needed or any information I asked, she did her best to provide for me. I also witnessed many interactions between Bekah and other guests, and she was always accommodating and pleasant.
Now, my goal was to hike the trails, which I did. I was very happy to come back to the lodge, shower off, fix something to eat and spend time looking at the stars, sitting at the fire pit or talking to other guests or Bekah before turning in for the night. There is wifi there as well. Overall, this vacation was wonderful and met my expectations and then some!
