Everything you could want in your lake house rental to make memories that will last a lifetime! Wine Down is a beautiful waterfront home on a point lot with expansive views of the desirable Pea Hill Creek. There is a modern double Boathouse for Great Lakeside Entertaining and a modest elegance for relaxing at the lake! The house can comfortably accommodate a group of friends or multiple families with 2 living spaces, multiple dining spaces at the house and boathouse, a fully finished lower level with kitchenette, game room and walkout to lakeside patio area. Upper lakeside covered porch with lovely lake views to enjoy some amazing sunsets. Home is situated on a flat, private and scenic lot with 221 feet of shoreline and a private beach areas. Boathouse with sundeck, covered dock sitting area, wet bar and jet ski lifts. Kayaks and a canoe are available for use. Deep water too. Private community boat ramp is a stone’s throw away. Restricted Neighborhood. Close to Marina and Main Lake. Close to local conveniences. There is something for everyone to love at Wine Down!!!

Additional House Details:
- Sat-Sat rental for bookings between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Other times of the year, there is a three night minimum.
- The HOA closely monitors the number of people staying in the house. If you have more people staying in the house than have been approved in your booking, there may be an additional per person fee assessed. The max number of people allowed is 10.
- Pets are allowed on case by case basis and with approval only with an added fee. Max 2 dogs.

Can’t wait to go back

It was perfect for our family of two young adults, a girlfriend and two pups. We spent so much time on the boathouse fishing, swimming, drinking morning coffee, and watching the sunsets. Sincerely hoping we are able to visit again next year. Thank you so much for sharing your home.

Wine Down is the perfect lake house!

Wine down was the most perfect house we have ever rented at Lake Gaston! Starting with the owner Kate who is so kind and most helpful with making sure we had all the details to make our stay the very best. The house itself was spotless and was stocked with every essential and much more! The views from the porch and dock house are amazing, the location on the lake is close to everything! We can’t wait to come back next summer, if not before! Thanks again Kate for sharing your beautiful home and making our stay so wonderful!

It has Everything!

How fortunate we felt to have found this property and host. It was our first stay at Winedown, but not our first at LKG. By far, everyone in our party felt that this place was the cleanest and best equipped. Plenty of parking for 3 trucks and a trailer, private ramp next door, nice boathouse, well equipped kitchen, and super quiet friendly neighborhood. The host, Kate, is very responsive and easy to work with. Five stars all across the board!

Fantastic house on the lake

We were so impressed as we drove up to the property. It was even more stunning than the pictures we had seen on the website. The house was immaculate and spotlessly clean. Every kitchen gadget you can think of was there for meal preparation and serving. The front porch runs the entire width of the house and offers beautiful views of the lake.The boathouse at the lake will take your breath away with views that it offers as well. There’s a nice shady area there with table and chairs and the deck on top is huge and allows for great views of the sunset. Be sure to take your camera with you. We hated to leave and will definitely return in the near future.

Beautiful, relaxing spot on the lake!

Wine Down was just want we were looking for. Located in a quiet neighborhood, the house was clean, updated and had plenty of space. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the boat house and kayaked a few times enjoying the scenery. We will rent again in the future!

Beautiful lake view

Our group included my husband, myself, one of our sons, and his 2 teens. The house is very clean, like new, beautifully decorated, and well appointed with everything we needed to be comfortable. The property owner is very nice, and easily contacted. The boathouse is in like new condition, and is a great place to relax while fishing. We enjoyed the firepit, roasting hot dogs, and making smores. This is a great getaway for reconnecting with family.

Perfect house and perfect weather

This house is perfect for a family vacation with plenty of room and a great rec room with games, tv, etc. Having a private boat ramp next to the property along with a nice boathouse (with lifts) was definitely a plus. The kids enjoyed both the beach area and swimming and fishing from the dock. There was nothing that we needed that was not provided. The kitchen is equipped with anything the cook might need. Plenty of dishes, glassware, and cookware plus a complete array of small appliances. Host communicated well and provided additional information for recommended dining, shopping, and recreational opportunities. An excellent VRBO.

Perfect Family Vacation

Beautiful lake house with great amenities

We loved our stay at Wine Down and Kate was quick to respond to any of our questions or needs. We are two families with kids between 8 and 16. The space was perfect for our group and the whole house was clean to our high standards. The shuffleboard table and foosball table were an added bonus, very much enjoyed by everyone in the house. The yard had plenty of space with barely any slope so we were able to enjoy the yard games we brought. The dock was fantastic with lots of space for fishing and for the kiddos to jump in to the lake. (We caught a good number of catfish.) My son found a cinder block at the bottom of the lake that we used to anchor our big float for the week. (No need to worry about kids hitting it when jumping in - it's far enough out and pretty deep. He's just a fish and enjoyed swimming to the bottom to find cool rocks and clams.) Having a refrigerator and sink at the dock was also great!

Our family- including 2 grown children and their children spent the week at WineDown and it was perfect! Location, things todo, well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, glorious front porch rockers..... it was all there! We’ve been doing family vacations for 30+ years and this is the first home that we would come back to. Seriously....couldn’t find any fault with the home! Kate is a great hostess- very responsive for any needs. A+++++

We had the most amazing vacation. Kate is a superb hostess. The difference between a great stay and an amazing stay is the host. Everything we could possibly think of that we might need was supplied, so much do that I overpacked! AMAZING, my family is so grateful for the quality environment.

Great vacation location.

We had the most wonderful week at Wine Down. The location was perfect; quiet yet close to the grocery store, coffee houses and even a gym. Kate is very responsive and does a great job communicating. The house itself was clean, cozy and well organized...with very, very comfortable beds. We enjoyed and spent most of our time outside, on the dock or relaxing on the large front porch! We also enjoyed watching all of the geese walking around the property and swimming in the lake. You just have to watch where you step, when you are walking between the house and dock...a walkway of some sort would have made a perfect trip even more perfect.

Wine Down is great place!

Kate makes it easy! Location good, house fully stocked and clean. We usually spend all our time at boathouse, but our weekend was cold and rainy so we spent it mostly inside and still had a great time inside. Thanks Kate!

Amazing Space

Kate's home was perfect for 2 families. There was space for 2 adult couples. Boys in the bunk beds and girls in the loft queen upstairs. Everyone had space for alone time and time together. The kayaks, game room and large yard made for a lot of fun. The large porch and boathouse allowed us to watch the most beautiful sunsets and night sky. Kate was super responsive. Everything was in great working order. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all meals including Thanksgiving. We would gladly return. I originally missed that we needed to bring sheets and towels so just make sure to do that! Overalll, this was an EXCELLENT vacation home and we'd love to return in the summer.

Always great!

This is our third time staying at Wine Down and as usual it did not disappoint. Kate does a fantastic job in communicating and has thought of nearly everything. We had a slight hiccup at check-in, but it was quickly resolved and the rest of our trip went without a hitch. Only complaint is that we had to leave so soon.

Family Gathering at the Lake

Family decided to try a Lake Vacation other than the normal beach vacation. This home at Lake Gaston was really a top shelf experience! The home location was awesome. We were close to a store by car or boat. The home's "Boathouse" was a real winner. housed two 21' boats with good water depths. Views of the sun sets on the roof top sunning deck were outrageous! The home was great. Recycles run every other week so it depends on your week if you have to run to the recycle center. Kate was very responsive; we hope to return soon as the home and location are wonderful.

Hi! Thanks for considering my house for your vacation! I bought this property to enjoy with my friends and family when I was living in NYC and needed to have a respite from the fast pace of the city!! My friends and family are largely in the VA/NC area and so it was the perfect central location to be able to enjoy time with people I love. Since buying the house, I have relocated to Charlotte and am able to enjoy the house much more regularly now - which has been fantastic! I travel internationally a lot and so you will see hints of my travels throughout the house. I hope you will love this place as much as me and my family do!

This property has it all - a wonderful point lot with 221 feet of lake frontage, private beach areas and feels very private while still being close to the marina, the main lake, Washburn’s and local shopping area. The house is perfect for groups of friends or multiple families because its laid out with kitchen/bar and living areas on both of the main floors, with bedrooms and full baths. Plus, the boathouse! If you want sun or shade, motor boats, jet ski’s or kayaks, or just want to relax with good food and drinks, you won’t need to leave. It’s a very unique and special property!
