About this property

Bay Front Cottage in Historic Townbank

A bayfront whaler's cottage in historic Townbank: Property was completely renovated in January 2020. Come be among the first to stay in what was originally a whaler's cottage and one of the first structures in the area. Delaware Bay views, direct beach access, enclosed outdoor shower, and large outdoor deck. Perfect for couples or a family with one bedroom with a full bed plus pull out sofa. Sleeps up to 4 people. Vaulted ceiling, small kitchenette (stove, mini-refrigerator, and microwave). Full bathroom with shower. Located in historic Townbank. Watch the sunset, schools of dolphins, and enjoy walks along a mile and a half Bayfront sidewalk. Townbank is a quiet, secluded alternative to Cape May where there's no fighting for parking, no meters, no beach tags, and plenty of room to stake out a perfect spot on the beach. Plus, the five mile drive into historic Cape May means easy access to restaurants and attractions. Wildwood’s famous boardwalk is a ten mile drive.

*No smoking home.

*Linens are not included. You will need sheets for one full size bed in bedroom plus a sofa sleeper that converts to a full size bed. You will also need your own towels.

Shore Drive

The house was okay with just the bare minimum. Kitchen had small appliances, bathroom shower and space was very tight, bedroom had only bed, no dressers to put our clothes and personal items on, living room couch was uncomfortable, throw pillows had stains and smells like there was a dog inside before we checked in.. Great location with beach across the street.

Perfect Location to beach

The location was absolutely perfect right across from the bay. The house cute and big enough for two people. But it is lacking amenities such as a dresser in the bedroom. A little more counter space in the kitchen and a shelf or a small counter top in the bathroom. A good leave blower would really help getting all the pine needles and the burs all over the yard.. We brought our own toilet paper and towels...too... Overall we had a wonderful time abd would go back But there

Across from the beach

The house was clean and convenient for a couple. Anymore people would be too much. It’s across the street from the beach, which made it so convenient to go back and forth with items or take a break from the Sun worth some AC. Would definitely go back.

Cute Cottage But Without Basics

Lovely small cottage but missing basic considerations for guests. Needs more trash cans, shelving in closet, a dresser for clothes, light in bathroom shower, toilet paper holder, towel rack bathroom, more kitchen cabinets, power strip for charging, outdoor clothes line, kitchen towels, pot holders, mixing bowels, blanket for sofa bed. We purchased many of the items when we got there but definetely needs some additional items for guests. Otherwise great little vacation spot. Thanks Kate

Overpriced

The owners are very nice but it is overpriced for what you get. You can hang clothes in closet but no place for other clothes so live out of suitcase on the floor. Refrigerator is tiny and the one cabinet has no place to put food. Nothing “beachy” about it. It is a good location but overall it is dreary.

Nice owners, really not big enough for more then 2 people the full size bed was only suitable for on

All in it was fine for a short stay,we were there 1 week which is the minimum, there are a few things I hope they change in the future, 1 being a small hotel size refrigerator if we didn't have a large cooler we would have been stuck, we had to buy ice every other day. Counter space was none existent and again we were lucky we had small folding table with us, beautiful deck but no comfortable outdoor seating? No light in shower, no trash can, no lamps. These are just a few things but still inconvenient . I took into consideration that we were the to rent the cottage so for the most part we enjoyed our stay, in spite of COVID19 restrictions the weather was beautiful, we ate at some very nice restaurants, and saw some beautiful sunsets. Thank you Ruth and Mark!
