Based on the property's reviews, I thought I'd found a nice place for a family getaway, but... this will be a mixed review and I'm being as balanced as possible.
First of all, we enjoyed watching the cotton tails in the grass and the peacock strut about. The beds and bedding were nice and comfy. The downstairs bedrooms and bath were updated.
However, the upstairs bedroom and bath were not only out of date, but they were also run down and a wall partially painted. The WiFi was a nightmare. It was so unstable (unusable) that we couldn't use the TV much of the time, nor could we access the Internet or email on our laptops On the second day, the owner placed his phone outside on a table to serve as a hot spot. And if your cell provider is Verizon, you will not have coverage at all.
Overall, the grounds were not cleaned up. The floors weren't swept and the carpets and throw rugs were unwashed. Personal items were everywhere--in fridge, on shelves, in cupboards. A handful of vitamins and a medicine bottle cap were left on the bathroom floor. Personal shower items (including a used bar of soap) were in the shower for our use? A bedroom ceiling fan was broken and bedroom window slats were missing. A dirty hand towel was left under a bed. Like I said, not cleaned.
Being out in the country, it was quiet and a private location, which was nice, plus the owner lives on the property, so he and his wife were available if needed.
I didn't expect luxury accommodations, but I don't think it's too much to expect cleanliness.
The owner agreed to a small refund because the WiFi was not working.
