We loved it!
My family spent New Year’s at the home as my husband was playing at the Drytown Social Club nearby. The house was clean and the property is beautiful. The house was comfortable and bathrooms updated. We didn’t see or hear any mice but it is on a vineyard so I would not have been surprised if we had. The bed I slept in downstairs was comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the wood stove and TV in the living room and played games at the large dining table. Joe and Janet were very accommodating and easy to get a hold of when we had questions. We loved our stay and would book this house again in the future.

Nice views
Quite property. Did not spend a lot of time on location. Beds squeak way too much. Mice in walls may keep you up at night. Actually they will. Shower was interesting. We did walk the orchards during the day for some very nice views.

Good property but not well maintained
Owner forgot to send the number key and was unreachable for couple hours. Went with seniors, it was very inconvenient. There was a dead rat in the master bathroom.

Wedding weekend
I met the owner at the home at check in. A really nice individual. I suggest wiping down the whole house prior to tenants arrival (really bad). I suggest getting rid of the unhealthy mold throughout the master suite bathroom. We took one bottle of wine and left a check per the owner . The house was as dirty as I have ever seen a VRBO entering the home. The refrigerator was disgusting. They had a lot stuff in the refrigerator which made our stuff to put away confusing. My daughter saw rodents and heard rodents all night long. The whole house had pet hair throughout the home upon arrival. The lock box number was not the number in the instructions. There was a pump of some sort that went off intermittently throughout the night. The back deck was very impressive, however there is a dangerous loose board on the deck where a guest could injured if not careful. The location was terrific but very hard to find. Google Maps takes you to a locked gate.

Mother of the Groom
Overall it was a wonderful stay and would go again. A little hard to find with iPhone maps, but Waze worked better. The place was more secluded than I thought, once we got the hang of it it was fantastic. Loved sitting by the fire pit outside every night, and looking at the dark sky, with all the stars. Had a little issue in the beginning regarding clean sheets, but the property owners were extremely quick on responding and accommodating! They were the best.

Beautiful serenity
Here 4 days for work. The house is well taken care of and it was nice having coffee on the patio in the grape vines. We enjoyed a bottle of the house red watching the deer in the fields.

Wine country getaway
This property was just as described. Very roomy house. Three sitting areas outside. We were just two couples but it would sleep more. It was wonderful to sit on the patio in the morning with coffee and evening with a glass of wine. The hostess was excellent at communicating when needed and very nice. Property was little hard to locate because streets weren’t marked well. Overall wonderful location though and well equipped. Would definitely stay there again if going to the area.

What a way to relax
We had a very nice stay, and loved the patio with a fireplace (and a glass of wine of course). Beautiful view of the hills surrounding the property, and it was fun to stay on a vineyard. We will have to return during a time when the vines are full. Our son's dog was right at home there.

Quiet and Private Vineyard Home
Our stay at this property was very nice and the entire group enjoyed the peaceful environment of the vineyard. The owner was extremely communicative and available. Do pay close attention to the driving instructions provided by the owner as Google will try to route you through a private gated driveway which is inaccessible. The house itself is in good shape overall and was warm during the chilly winter evenings. The fireplace had wood ready for our use which was appreciated. There are three "bedrooms" but the third is really a repurposed utility room which didn't seem to heat with the rest of the house. We opted not to use it. The primary and secondary bedrooms were very nice and spacious although the beds are really very worn and made a lot of noise when just rolling over. (It became a running joke with our group.) The master bath shower is amazing and was a little challenging to operate but was a very nice upgrade. The real appeal of this place is the amazing privacy as you are behind a gated fence just slightly off the highway. We could get to the main grocery store in just 10 minutes and never felt too far away from anything. As we were there in the Winter, we didn't really get to use the outdoor amenities but there are multiple decks, seating areas and outdoor furniture which would be amazing in the warmer months. The entire group agreed we would return to this property at some point.

Girl's Weekend Perfection
This home was the PERFECT place to stay for a girl's wine tasting weekend! The home, property, check-in, and communication with property owners could not have been better. Very private but close enough to all the wineries and restaurants in the area. It had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. We not only highly recommend this home to others but will definitely return ourselves! Thank you so much Janet for making our weekend spectacular!

The home was spacious for a friend reunion.
The kitchen could use a good cleaning. Flickering lights In dining room and living room could indicate an electrical problem and the house is in a fire area. Sliding glass doors in living room, dining room and primary bedroom do not lock. The deck/patio is a nice area for conversation. Bathrooms were clean.

About the host

My husband loves to cook and loves to drink wine. One of his dreams in life was to own a winery. In July 2007, I was on the internet and found 2 vineyards we could afford and one being this property. So we decided to take a day trip.... We found Drytown located on the map so off we went . When we arrived in this tiny town of Drytown we learned there were 202 people living here. When we arrived at the property we started driving down a long driveway with vineyards on both side of us. Joe said to me. "Lets get it" I said to him "are you crazy? That was the beginning of our adventure.

Why they chose this property

This property suits our needs for several reasons. The beauty and awesome valley view of the property makes you want to seat and relax with a glass of wine. The property is very private and has 40+ wineries within 10 minutes of the house. Lots of activities we can do that are close by such as Mine for Gold, Antique Shop, Hiking, Great Restaurants, Winery Hop, Golf or even go to Jackson Rancheria Casino or Ski at Kirkwood which is about one hour or so drive away. Great Location

What makes this property unique

This property is noted for the old grape vines that are grown on the property. This is one of the reasons why we are able to produce good wines. The house on the inside is very warm and inviting. The master bath has a steam shower for a body and foot message.
