The house will sleep 6-10 people and can also include an independent, though linked, annex, with room for 4 more.
Cala Reona: One of the most exclusive and fascinating yet-to-be-developed sites on the Costa Cálida stretch of Spain’s Mediterranean coast (Murcia).
The House: Located right on the coast, just 50 yards from the curved golden beach of the Cala (cove), occupying a “midday” position that provides a 180º panoramic view of the sea, and allows for the splendours of both sunrise and sunset over the Mediterranean to be savoured. Some17 miles from the historical city of Cartagena, and right next door to the fishing village of Cabo de Palos, La Manga and the peaceful waters of the Mar Menor saltwater lagoon.
The property is flanked by a terrace, on the sea-side, almost touching the water, and an extensive patio/garden to landward. From the terrace, with its blue and white furnishings and awnings, you can watch the seemingly ceaseless to and fro of the merchantmen and cruise ships, plying the Mediterranean route. The patio includes a swimming pool and solarium, with pergola and is divided into two distinct environments, with a dining area and garden furniture under cover, surrounded by ornamental plants and fruit trees. The patio also includes a parking space for one vehicle, while in the fenced in exterior plot, measuring some 3,700m2, which is private property belonging to Casa Cala Reona, there is plenty of room to park as many as you wish.
The house itself has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and both a living/dining room and lounge area, with one double sofa-bed. There is also a separate dining room, which opens out onto the garden/patio on the landward side, while the living/dining room looks out over the terrace to the sea. From the sofas in both lounge and living/dining room there are uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean, just a few yards away.
The Annex: The adjacent annex is a small studio flat in its own right, with two bedrooms, a master bedroom, with double bed, and a double bedroom (two single beds). There is also a fully fitted bathroom and a separate kitchen. The annex can be accessed either directly from the street or from the house, via the private patio/garden. There is a barbeque area and outdoor showers.
The House and its Annex: The ideal spot for holidays ALL YEAR ROUND, located just a stone’s throw from the village of Cabo de Palos, and benefitting from a particularly temperate microclimate in autumn and winter. This benign climate allows for enjoyment of the outdoor life at any time of year.
At Cala Reona (Reona Cove), right next to the house and its annex, you can practice a wide range of sporting activities, such as sailing, surfing, waterskiing and kite-surfing, among others. Cala Reona adjoins the Calblanque National Park, which means that hiking, cycling, mountain biking or horse riding is not only easy but can be taken advantage of to discover the National Park’s protected coastal and mountain scenery of exceptional interest. At the La Manga Golf Club (just over 4 miles away) you can enjoy three of Europe’s finest 18-hole courses.
Also, just over a mile from Cala Reona, you will find the Las Salinas de Marchamalo salt flats, which are also well worth a visit. One part of the flats, known as Las Salinas Viejas, is actually part of the Casa Cala Reona property. From September to May this protected area becomes an observatory for dozens of species of migrating birds, such as herons, cormorants, ducks or pink flamingos.
If you want to reach Cala Reona by car, after taking the exit from the Murcia-La Manga or Alicante-La Manga dual carriageways, it is less than half a mile down the only road, at the end of which you will find Casa Cala Reona.
The house is on a site that measures 600m2, of which the house itself occupies 150m2, with the rest being taken up by the terrace and the patio/garden. The annex occupies another 40m2. The surface areas of each of the parts of the house and its rooms are as indicated in the attached Plans.
