About this property

The house is set in beautiful, peaceful grounds with an abundance of fig, orange, lemon, olive and almond trees. By day, the view of the ocean from the terrace is breathtaking and by night Lagos, the main town full of shops and restaurants and also only a 5 minute drive, twinkles in the distance.

With it only being a15 minute walk to the beach (or a 5 minute drive), there's some wonderful beach bars/restaurants serving great food and a busy marina where you can enjoy water sports, dolphin watching, fishing, grotto trips and even more restaurants and shops.

The accommodation consists of the main villa (built on one level), an attached two bedroom apartment and a separate three bedroom Pool Annexe. This gives our guests excellent scope for flexibility in their holiday requirements should teenagers, grandparents, nannies or other staff need separate sleeping arrangements. The maximum occupancy is 20 guests. PLEASE NOTE: POOL SLIDES HAVE BEEN REMOVED DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY.

There is a lounge with wood burning fire and separate dining room with French doors to the shaded dining terrace with views over the swimming pool and to the ocean beyond .
New modern kitchen with breakfast area and centre island . Fully fitted with Stoves dual fuel cooker, large fridge freezer plus under counter fridge, microwave, electric hob, 2 dishwashers, client`s laundry room and a kitchen patio area .
1 twin en-suite bedroom with sea views and terrace access.
2 Kingsize ensuite bedrooms with sea views and terrace access.
Large bedroom with 2 single beds, one kingsize bed and a bathroom (ideal for a family with children and teenagers).

Grounds
The pool terrace has superb views and is excellent for sunbathing. Additionally there is a poolside bar with fridge, a kitchenette and shower with wc. A small pool table, a dartboard and a table tennis table.
THE POOL CAN BE HEATED AT AN ADDITIONAL COST OF €75 per day.
The upper terrace is great for dining and there is a shaded BBQ and chill out area.
The villa is surrounded by magnificent landscaped gardens and has terracing on a number of levels.
Private tennis court with some equipment. No flood lights at present.
Private catering for breakfast, lunch and dinner can be requested through the owner. Gourmet dinners with wine pairing can also be offered. Catering is an additional cost.

We also offer private cookery classes with professional chefs. This is a fun thing to do with family and friends and your labours can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. Please contact the owner for details.

Practically perfect!

We travelled to Portugal to celebrate my husband’s 50th and rented the villa for our closets friends and some family members too. We had two small children and 12 adults who flew in from various places around the world. Lagos is one of the best places in the Algarve with so much choice for food and beautiful beaches to explore. The villa is absolutely breathtaking and the photos on the website are fabulous, but cannot really do it justice. The ocean views, the impeccable garden, the large living spaces and main bedrooms each with private bathrooms were exceptional. We hired the small cottage due to our group size which is attached the house and despite it being at the back of the house and somewhat smaller, the rooms were clean and its position meant the kids could sleep early without being woken up by gatherings in the living spaces. The villa’s outdoor facilities are well maintained with a beautiful slightly heated pool, tennis court, small pool table and table tennis table and there are well placed garden tables and chairs throughout the grounds, which offer gorgeous views for morning coffees or late afternoon drinks (but prepare for the mosquitos at dusk). We were offered contacts for a wonderful local chef who prepared a special 50th dinner for my husband and the food and service was impeccable. We also called on a recommended babysitter who was excellent and the villa has cleaning staff who help to maintain the morning bedroom service most days. There is not enough cleaning provisions for a week (particularly the kitchen) so you really need to buy everything from bin bags to dishwashing tablets etc (a few are provided to get you started) and there was only a small amount of hand soap but no shampoo/conditioner so remember to pack these. The villa had loads of books and games which we made great use of and there is plenty of crockery for entertaining and meals and also plastics for the bar area near the pool. We found the checkin and instructions clear and the villa was a short taxi drive to town, but we often walked in (about 20 minutes) when it wasn’t too hot. Angela is a fantastic host and she obviously values the quality and maintenance of the villa. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to catch up with our friends and family post-covid and celebrate my husband’s milestone birthday. You won’t be disappointed!!

Wonderful villa for extended family holiday

We had a lovely family reunion at Quinta Almara! With family members aged 12-82, there was plenty of space for everyone and we never felt crowded. Beautiful villa throughout with many activities to keep us busy. Angela was very easy to communicate with and gave us wonderful recommendations for the local restaurants etc. The managing agent was quite unhelpful on the day of arrival, but was attentive during our stay.

Quinta Almara exceeded our expectations! The house and the property are perfect for a large group. Anything you could ever need is provided. And if you do need anything the manager is quick to respond and is super helpful. The location is excellent, a quick walk to a gorgeous miles long sandy beach with all kinds of restaurants and bars. There’s even a boardwalk that ends at the marina area of Lagos making walking into town a pleasure. We highly recommend a stay at Quinta Amara!

Gorgeous villa in the hills of Lagos!

We loved our stay at Angela’s villa in the beautiful hills of Lagos. The property is stunning and was very comfortable for our group of 11 adults + 3 children. The heated pool and tennis court were used daily. The villa location is perfect, located 5 min from the beach and 10 min from downtown Lagos.

Incredible place

From the moment we walked into Quinta Almara to the moment we walked out, the stay was nothing short of amazing. I can’t believe how perfect it was and the pictures on the website do not do it justice. The property itself is immaculate and the gardens within it are kept to perfection. My partner and I chose the venue as a marriage location and we were joined by 15 other members of our family to celebrate. Everyone said how perfect the venue was and it was everything I expected and more. If I could, I would holiday here every year. The owner made things very easy as well, and was kind enough to let us use the villa for what we asked for. If you’re reading this with a view to coming to Lagos with a large party, then this is the best place you will ever use. I can’t speak highly enough about it and wouldn’t hesitate to come back

A fantastic villa for large family groups. We've just enjoyed a fabulous 2 weeks as a family of 12 (4-73 year olds) in this amazing villa.just outside the lovely town of Lagos. You can walk to the beach, marina, and town, but a car for convenience (big shop from Pingo Doce) is worth considering as we did. Even without a car an Uber costs no more than 4.5 euros to town.The villa is very comfortable and very spacious with top quality facilities and amenities. We had many nights enjoying the fantastic views over Meia Praia and Lagos Town from the raised terrace whilst enjoying a barbeque from the top of the range gas barbeque. The pool and its associated bar/kitchen, with low level changing coloured lighting at night, is superb. Not to mention the full size floodlit tennis court - wow! You can sunbathe or sit in the shade in the numerous locations around the villa and its grounds with various forms of comfortable seating and sunbeds. The agent for the owner is always on hand, during your stay, and very responsive and the owner herself is very supportive both during and post the booking process. There is a maid service on several days of your stay but this is totally unobtrusive so you can get on with enjoying your villa experience. A not to be missed villa for the larger group who wants both the luxury of the accomodation and location to town and all the beautiful bars, restaurants, and attractions this beautiful town provides. You will be blown away by this place!!

Almost perfect

Stayed with 3 generations of family. The accommodation, view and pool were as beautiful as the photos indicate and I would love to have stayed longer. On the down side, some of the amenities were in need of maintenance. For the most part these were addressed fairly quickly, although property management works quite restricted hours. I was disappointed that we needed to buy essentials such as bin bags, dish washer detergent and toilet paper. There is a daily maid service that comes early in the morning which we found very intrusive and unnecessary, so we requested that the frequency be significantly reduced. Also be aware that the walk to the beach is a good 15minutes - perfectly doable but it is certainly not the 0.1 mile indicated on the web site.

Pictures don’t do justice

The property was even more beautiful and amazing than the photos. I loved knowing that this was a family vacation home (not just strictly a rental property) because it shines through in the character of the house and the love that is put into it. The grounds are beautiful, the view spectacular and the home has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommend and would love to come back one day.

The property was spectacular!! It was as advertised-but the pictures don’t even do it justice!!! Such beautiful views and accommodation!! Each room was en-suite which made it convenient for the family when we were getting ready to head to town. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had absolutely everything you would need for your stay. And there was coffee and breakfast items to get us started. The location was quiet and safe. Communication was extremely easy with the property owner and manager. And everyone was accommodating and gracious!! Just we could have stayed longer!!

Wonderful property

Beautiful house and surroundings, stunning see view. Kitchen modern and fully equipped (2 dishwashers, perfect for large groups), slightly outdated bedrooms and bathrooms. What might have prevented us from booking had we known this up front is that the advertised airconditioning consisted of only one old low-capacity mobile air conditioner in one of the bedrooms only. That was not what we expected in a house like this and insufficient. Nevertheless we had an excellent stay!

We had an amazing stay, the Villa is fantastic, and very clean with excellent facilities. The only slightly annoying thing was the managing agency which was rather inefficient and inflexible compared to the actual owner who was very easy to deal with and extremely flexible But we loved it so much we've booked it for 3 weeks in 2023

Amazing retreat in a vibrant town

An elegant and beautifully outfitted home that offers a casual atmosphere. Gather with your friends at the pool bar, cook fresh seafood on the grill or work together in the gourmet kitchen to create a memorable meal (all of which we did). Even with 13 friends we never felt crowded. The facilities are all top notch and the grocery store, shopping area and bars/restaurants are just minutes away. We for sure will be back.

Infinity out of ten!

This was my 8 year old nephew’s summary of our week here when asked to rate his holiday. We were celebrating my parents in law 60th wedding anniversary. Finding somewhere that pleases the aforementioned 8 year old who is never still through to grandparents who like to take life at a steadier pace is not the easiest task but Quinta Almara was the perfect place. The younger ones played tennis or swam while others relaxed and took in the lovely views. The beach and town were an easy 5 minutes by car or 25 minutes to walk. There were plenty of places to eat, shop and just wander around. The local grocery stores were well stocked. Having the housekeeper come in each morning was a bonus we were not expecting. It was lovely to come back to a neatly made bed, a clean bathroom and swept floors ( sand does get everywhere, no matter how hard you try to leave it on the beach ) The owner, Angela was great at communicating from the first email, through to checking we were enjoying our time in her lovely house. We, all14 of us, had a truly wonderful, memory making time at Quinta Almara and hope we can return.

Family holiday for our Ruby Anniversary

This villa is perfect for all ages as we have just spent a week there with a family of 15 , it had everything you needed and more for the children and adults. Great view of the sea ,20 minutes to get to the marina and shops,30 to the beach . The gardens are stunning so well kept ,fantastic pool for children . We will definitely be using this villa again .x

Nous avons séjourné 1 semaine à la Quinta Almara pour célébrer 3 anniversaires. La villa est beaucoup plus jolie que sur les photos. La villa est très spacieuse ainsi que les chambres, très bonne literie dans toutes les chambres de tous les appartements. Salle de bain très propre mais un peu petite. La cuisine est très grande et fonctionnelle. Le jardin est plus que merveilleux, nous y avons fait une chasse aux trésors…. Depuis la terrasse vous pouvez admirer la mer du lever du solei au coucher. Lucinda est là pour nettoyer la villa à votre place, très appréciable. Profitez de la villa et laissez vous vous faire chouchouter par Roberto "The Chef Affairs" www.thechefaffairs.com qui vient cuisiner à votre place et vous prépare des plats absolument divins. Nous l'avons pris pour toute la semaine. Si vous célébrez un évènement je vous conseille de joindre Claudia de "Wedding Panner" claudia@algarve-lifestyle.com qui sera vous organiser et vous aider pour tout évènement. Côté boulangerie/Patisserie je vous conseille Padaria Central au cœur de Lagos. Pas facile d'accès mais trop trop bon. Moi et mes amis garderons un merveilleux séjour à la Quinta Almara. Merci Angela We stayed 1 week at the Quinta Almara to celebrate 3 anniversaries. The villa is much prettier than in the photos. The villa is very spacious as well as rooms, very good bedding in all rooms of all apartments. Bathroom very clean but a little small. The kitchen is very large and functional. The garden is more than wonderful, we had a treasure hunt…. From the terrace you can admire the sea from sunrise to sunset. Lucinda is there to clean the villa in your place, very appreciable. Enjoy the villa and let yourself be pampered by Roberto "The Chef Affairs" www.thechefaffairs.com who comes to cook for you and prepares you absolutely divine dishes. We took it for the whole week. A fabulous villa- private and peaceful. Perfect for large family holiday. Great location.

We had a fabulous family holiday at Quinta Almara. Totally private, yet only a short walk from the lovely old town and a large supermarket. We didn’t hire any cars and did not regret this decision. We all loved the pool & the children especially enjoyed the added bonus of the 3 slides and diving board! Paying to have the pool heated was a good decision ( we were there in early April). The villa was very well equipped and we made good use of the kitchen and gas BBQ. The house keeper Lucinda was lovely and very helpful. We did have a few issues initially with the electrics whereby shorting of the mains occurred multiple times in the first couple of days. However,it should be noted that the weather had been unusually wet prior to our arrival. The management company were very prompt & professional in addressing the problem and once sorted we didn’t experience any further disruption. With such a large group we were concerned that we might feel a bit on top of one another but this was not the case at all as the villa is spacious with plenty of gorgeous outside space. Catering for the needs of children of all ages can be tricky but the villa kept them all very well entertained. Knowing that the children were happy, safe and entertained allowed us adults to have a lovely relaxing holiday as well. We had such a lovely and memorable holiday at Quinta Almara that we intend to book again for next year!
