Very spacious and tastefully decorated. The hot tub and pool table were a big hit, and the crafting room was a big hit with the jig saw puzzle crew. All in all a great time was had by all!
We were basically looking for a house that we could relax at, enjoy some time outside at a location that wasn't touristy. As a heath care worker I have taken COVID-19 precautions very seriously with my family of 4. When we entered the garage I knew immediately that we made the right choice by staying at The Crop House. There was a table with a description of her cleaning process, gloves in case you need them for any reason, disposable masks, a thermometer to track your temp, hand sanitizer. Infact, hand sanitizer in every room of the house! The house was clean and spacious, organized, and the items available seemed endless. We had brought 3 of our favorite board games from home...all of them were in the front closet! The hot tub and pool table were nice to have, the beds were comfy, every kitchen item you could possibly need. Grocery store is just a few mins away. Went tubing on the Muskegon River which was also only a few min away. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We were supposed to go to Faster Horses however covid cancelled it. We decided we wanted to keep the time off and thought what about renting a house somewhere on/near a lake. Everyone was instantly on board when I showed them them pics. The house is fantastic! Plenty of seating outside, nice big dinning room table too which was PERFECT for the nacho table we did for dinner. Very relaxing (especially in the hot tub) and comfy beds too.
We had an opportunity to speak with Karin (Kah-rin) and her husband. They were a very nice couple and responded promptly when we had a question.
We were thrilled with the accommodations at The Crop House. Every detail was thought out. Adorable and comfortable bedrooms, customized to our preference. We enjoyed our stay and Karin thought of everything from a bird brochure next to the window that overlooks a bird feeder to a coffee bar with all the fixings to fluffy fresh towels next to the hot tub. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property.
This property is very roomy with lots of extras, ie hot tub, pool table, and fire pit. Its perfect for a couple or large party.
The bedding was a just right. Goldie Locks would have been quite content. She would have left feeling well rested. We certainly did!
Many thanks to the Baker Family!
We appreciated the exrra safety precautions put in place by the owner. She was very responsive to our questions and made herself available at any time. Would definitely recommend the Crop House to all looking for a good time.
We rented this property for an adult weekend getaway. It was a perfect place to relax and hang out with friends. The house was clean and well laid out. Karin has thought of most everything, which made for a very comfortable weekend. The location of the house was great. Not too far from local shopping, restaurants and tubing on the Muskegon river. Our entire group agreed that this house was great and we would all definitely return to the Crop House!
We had a very good time at your house! The house is very clean and has everything one needs to spend time away from home. We’re thinking of renting again in fall! The owner Karin was very nice and answered our questions right away!
My family of 5 stayed here with another family of 4 & there was so much room! The entire house is beautiful & cozy & is stocked with everything you need on vacation. The view from the back yard is wonderful & Newaygo is a great town!

About the host
Hosted by Karin Baker, The Crop House
It has been a dream of mine to own a crafting retreat. Due to low bookings during summer months we decided to allow vacation renters. We have loved that others enjoy our house as much as we do. We created the house to be cozy, functional and make you feel pampered and at home. Many ask if they have to leave.
Joel and Karin have been married for 20 years and have three children ages 25,19 and 17. We also have two Australian Shepherds.
Why they chose this property
Our house is very homey and we have thought of everything! From towels and comfy beds, to being able to make twin beds into King beds for your stay. We have extra items in the bathrooms that you may have forgotten like a tooth brush or lotion, or contact solution. There is even a heating pad for your use.
What makes this property unique
This property is private and has a view of the lake. It is nice to sit on the deck at any time of day. We have overhead string lights to light up the deck at night. Although it is private, we do have neighbors and voices are drawn and travel close to water.
