Fantastic
Absolutely fabulous. Location was fantastic although you had to have your wits about you driving through the local lanes as locals don’t hang around. Beautiful cottage with a beautiful view over the moors. Fantastic fishing lakes with plenty of selection on where to fish. One place we’ll definitely be looking to book back to in the near future. 10/10 for the perfect peaceful retreat.

Lovely place to stay
Beautiful grounds and lovely cottage. Cosy and warm and the cream tea provided on arrival was lovely. Tiny criticisms - no foil or cling film or other wrapping material in the kitchen. I wouldn't normally expect to have to bring this kind of thing so a heads up would have been good. Also, in common with a lot of holiday lets, the hairdryer provided wasn't much use as the only electric point was on the far side of the room from the mirror. Other wise, perfect for a short stay.

Comfortable, friendly cottages in an amazing setting!
We loved our stay at East Rose Holiday cottages. Comfortable and homely in the most amazing setting on Bodmin Moor we stayed in Moor Cottage which was well equipped, very cosy and ideally located for exploring all parts of Cornwall. The welcome cream tea on arrival was absolutely delicious and Matthew and Becky made us extremely welcome. Loved the grounds around he cottages - the onsite lakes were great to explore with surprise picnic locations dotted around. Would strongly recommend a visit to East Rose. Thanks so much for a lovely holiday and look forward to returning soon!

Excellent location, great accommodation
Me and my daughter, we've been very pleased to stay for one week in Moor Cottage at East Rose. Lovely family the owners, very nice accommodation, clean and spacious. Too cold during the nights though, but an extra electric radiator did a good job to warm us up. We recommand East Rose with all our heart. I bet it's fantastic there during the summer.Thank you Matthew and Becky!

Rural escape
The smallholding of East Rose has various sized stone, cottages and is in a beautiful, near landscaped lakes over the cattle grids on the moor. Therefore, watch out for the cows and sheep particularly if you approach in the dark, when a torch in addition to the low pathway lighting. Moor Cottage was around the back and down a couple of steps, simply furnished, as advertised, warm, lit and welcoming with home-made scones. It would benefit from some modernisation, but is aimed at fishermen and dog walkers so it’s appropriately priced. It was a shame the lovely fireplace had an electric fire, an open log fire would be a big plus, selling point here. Walks around the grounds and lakes and over the moor are beautiful in any weather - even the pouring rain. As just a couple, we could imagine family fun with kids discovering all the wildlife. 30 mins walk away was the lovely local pub The Old Inn at Churchtown, you won’t be disappointed by its welcoming, roaring fire, great food & carvery and friendly staff and good CV 19 precautions. We enjoyed our weekend getaway in Moor Cottage at East Rose.

Beautiful setting. Prepare to put on weight with the cakes
Very clean and warm. Kitchen well equipped and lovely shower. Very friendly hosts and can highly recommend the scones and flapjacks! Lovely setting with fishing lakes to walk round. Things to note (not criticism, just info) - Little or no mobile phone reception. Wi-fi adequate for keeping in touch but not for streaming. Can't park car next to house (big car park though and trolleys provided)

Great location and accommodation.
The cottage complex is set in a beautiful part of Cornwall a few miles north of Bodmin. This was our first visit to Cornwall and we really enjoyed our stay at East Rose. Maddie the sheltie and Izzie the border collie especially loved the dog friendly beaches along the North West coast and enjoyed the morning walk round the East Rose Lakes and swimming in the River at Delford Bridge just 500 yards walk away.

Fantastic week at East Rose
We have just returned from a week staying at East Rose. On arrival we where greeted by freshly baked scones and clotted cream/jam. impressed with our accommodation it was spotless, with amazing views over the moor. A lounge/kitchen was comfy and practical with lots of features you hope to find in a country cottage. Beams and 2 foot thick walls vaulted ceilings etc. The bedroom was spacious and had ample storage space a great double bed clock radio and bedside lamps. The shower room was modern and very clean. WiFi was available at no extra cost and we had no issues using it. Outside the garden where well maintained and had lots of places to sit and enjoy the setting and views, to walk all around the grounds and the fishing lakes would probably take a good 30 minutes as there is so much to see. The fishing itself was really enjoyable and I ended up going a few times for a couple of hours at a time and caught some quality fish in a really pleasant setting. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked again for next year. Highly recommended.

“superb location, wonderful cottage and lovely hosts.”
We stayed in Moor cottage with our dog Izzy and had a fantastic holiday, the peaceful location offers moors on the doorstep and beautiful beaches within 30 minutes, we explored castles,Bodmin prison, stone circles, waterfalls and woodlands as well as several beaches, well behaved dogs are very welcome at most places including most pubs, cafes etc. Moor cottage was very well equipped with everything you could want and very clean and cosy with a delicious cream tea waiting on arrival, the home baked food we ordered was truly scrumptious, the chocolate cake was very quickly devoured. We would definitely recommend staying at East Rose and would love to stay again ourselves, many thanks to Becky and Matthew for our excellent stay.

East Rose - Moor Cottage
Lovely outlook. Easy to park. Cream tea on arrival. Comfortable bed. Could have done with taller hanging space for clothes. Beautiful shower. Living area comfortable and ideal for eating, sitting, watching TV. I was upset that the kitchen cupboards had musty smell which made the crockery smell. I left my crockery out in the open. No visitors book. Communal washing machine and washing line available.

Clean, Cosy and Quiet
We had a wonderful stay in this clean, cosy and quiet location. Beautiful little cottage with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Wish I'd taken my fishing rods as some very nice lakes, or the dogs as some lovely walks, definitely taking both next time. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. we went and visited so many places as many are not that far away, padstow, tintagel, port isaac as well as many other places of interest. We were so happy with the area and cottage we would have liked to stay for another week, so recommend booking early as these cottages are very sort after. We can't wait to go again.

Fantastic holidays
My daughter and I so much enjoyed our stay in Cornwall: it is such a beautiful region and people are very friendly. And as you go to Cornwall, East rose is THE place to stay: the cottage was perfect (clean, tidy and well-equipped), the landscape is amazing and Matthew and Becky were lovely. Thank you so much to you both for these unforgettable holidays ! We will definitely come back even if coming from Saint-Etienne in France is a long long way to go !
