Rustic intown country apartment on the Moosehead trail
A quiet country setting 30 minutes from 100 mile wilderness trailhead on the Appalachian trail and Moosehead lake region. Wildlife can be spotted from the apartment in the back field and woods. Coffee shops and restaurants within 15 minute drive. Cozy, comfortable apartment to kick back and enjoy. State Parks include Peakes Kenny and Lily Bay in the area or a boat ride to an island in the middle of Moosehead lake with hiking trails and awesome history. 2 hour drive to Acadia National Park. This is an old house we aquired. We have been upgrading and adding to it as we go along. The front steps are very sturdy but may be steeper than some folks are accustomed to. There was a mention of that after 2 years. We have plans to upgrade the entry in the near future. We work hard to provide a most satisfactory stay and hope to reflect that in reviews. We live on the property if anything is not right we would like to correct any issues. Please enjoy your stay.

Small and quiet place with everything you need. Comfortable bed and soft sheets as well :) very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking necessities too which we appreciated! Thank you!!
The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The space she offered was very clean and thoughtfully appointed with all the dishes, cookware, towels and other things one might need. I would stay here again.
Thank you for providing a clean, safe place for me to stay while fishing in the area. You have everything I need and are always ready to help. I look forward to coming back.

The owners were comunicative and open with us. Stay was clean and kind. Great time!
I had a long stay (several months) and they were consistently attentive to my needs. I was so fortunate to have found such great people, location and place for my dogs during my home renovations.
Ruth was very responsive and very nice! My husband knew her husband for a long time and we enjoyed our stay for the five days. I recommend 100% this stay! Peaceful, quiet and lovely. Cannot ask better for that price. Thanks a lot Ruth!

This was a beautiful area and cozy apartment! There was a good selection of kitchen equipment. The laundry facilties were very convenient. Ruth was friendly and quick to communicate. We would definitely return!
We had a very enjoyable stay at Ruth’s place. She communicated very well and made sure we had everything we needed. Only complaints was that there was broken glass at the back of the property by the trail and there was a bandaid stuck to a blanket. If you’re looking for a quiet neighborhood and very friendly/dog friendly hosts, this is the place to book!
I stayed here at Ruth's VRBO for almost 4 months with my two dogs through the better part of a winter. It was always warm and cozy and the driveway maintained so I could get to work. It was quiet and functional. It was a badly needed "harbor in the storm" while I waited for my new house to be habitable.
Great place to stay. Our dog loved the trail in their backyard. Ruth was very nice. She had everything anyone could need for a stay. Only negative which is minor was the tv/wifi was very spotting. Made watching tv hard but we were not there to watch tv. Drove to Greenville to enjoy Moosehead Lake for the day. If we ever return to Sangerville would love to visit Ruth and her place again.

Everything about an 1 to 2 for activities and restaurants. First impression of property driving not impressed needs upgrade outside, inside and things to do on property its has a beautiful big backyard . But overall if u need a quiet place nothing to do and telax perfect spot.
The amount of detail Ruth has put into this space really makes it feel like you are staying in a cozy beach cottage of a relative. It has everything you could need for your stay and is very clean. It's in a good area, there seems to be much to do nearby especially if you are outdoorsy. Ruth was very kind and attentive, she introduced herself the moment we arrived and I could tell it would be no hassle to contact her if we needed to during our stay. I loved reading the journal entries from people who have come from all over to stay here. We're going to need a local place while our new home undergoes some construction so I hope we will be back soon to create our own entry! This place is definitely at the top of our list. Thank you Ruth!!
I stayed here for 3 months while my house was being built. I welcomed the dog friendly stay and accommodating hostess, Ruth and her family. It was just right for me and my two poodles. I really enjoyed having the washer and dryer and fully stocked kitchen. Also the location between Dover-Foxcroft and Greenville was ideal. Ruth and her family kept the snow plowed and driveway cleared with every storm. I am eternally grateful to have found reasonably priced accommodations that accepted dogs fir my long term stay. Thank you!
Overall everything was as advertised, except for the driveway. We arrived after dark in the rain & the driveway was very steep & hard to see. There needed to be some kind of lights! I also would not attempt this driveway in the winter.
Traveled to Maine for a friend’s wedding at Timberhitch. This place was great for myself, my fiancé, and our two dogs. Clean and plenty of room for all of us. Thank you!
This inexpensive little property is all you need for a couple visiting the area. It has safe off street parking, attentive hosts, and a great location. Ruth and Jodie are super friendly and welcoming. Overall it was a great place to make some food, relax and crash out.
