Located in the Dunes at Bolivar, this home is situated away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to run to the big store or enjoy eating at local hot spots such as Stingaree’s, Steve’s Landing, and more. This community also boasts lots of locally-owned shops, including, grocery, hardware, and gift shops, along with a number of annual events like the Lone Star Jeep Rally, the Mardi Gras Parade, the Texas Crab Festival, and the Oyster Fry.

Decent Stay
The home was clean upon arrival and it had no ants or bugs of any kind. We were notified that it was sprayed before we arrived. The home did have some trash under the couches and the only way I found out was because my four year old lost a toy under there. Some cabinets are slightly broken but nothing too bothersome. It is a very short walk to the beach (about 3 minutes with my 4 year old and 7 year old). The street isn't an access point for cars, which is good if you want a quiet beach area to enjoy. There are two homes being built literally eight to ten feet away. Construction starts at 6:30 and ended around 7 each day of our stay. We had a complete power outage during our stay which was out of anyone's control. However, we also lost power the next day for a few hours. We were the only ones effected by this. We noticed construction workers were hooking up a generator to the houses plugs in the carport so that could have caused the outage. The house has the basic necessities, plenty of kitchenware, sheets, towels, etc. I have no complaints about the home in general and think it's great for the location. When the construction next door is complete, I'm sure it will be even quieter because most who live near the home are permanent residents. My family of 4 enjoyed our stay.

Two brand new builds going up on the side of the house within 10 feet, outlets don’t all work, breakers kept tripping, bedroom door to deck don’t lock. Wi-Fi does not work, make sure to bring extra of everything as there’s a very limited supply of things. House isn’t bad but needs to be updated and things need to conveyed to customers before booking.

The house was very clean and cool which was great. There are 2 houses being built right next to the property, which in the future won't be a problem but for our stay there was loud construction and yelling going on all day. There were small ants, they didn't sting the children but were a nuisance, I intended to pick up some spray on one of the trips to the store but forgot, I understand there are going to be insects, but if there had been some spray left in the cabinet with the other emergency items that would have been helpful. The walkway that goes from the property to the beach was too soft for the golf cart to go on so we had to find alternate routes to the beach. If you will be walking to the beach it will be fine. Overall the house was good, cleanliness and being cool were primary and these were met.

The house is located in a neighborhood with private access to the beach, with a public entrance a bock away. We picked it because of the close proximity to the sand and you can see the ocean from the front deck if you look off to the side which is nice, but it pretty much ends there. The home is along the road so you hear the traffic driving by (which drowns out the sound of any waves), PLUS there are two empty lots next to the property that just started construction, so there’s that noise/activity. The inside of the house looks ok but there are a lot of water damaged cabinets that are difficult to open. The kitchen has no cleaning supplies so you will need to bring your own Clorox wipes to wipe down counters if you plan to cook. The mattresses are horrible to sleep on and you can feel the springs. The worst part is, there are a lot of air fresheners around and we quickly realized it was because the toilet seal is cracked/broken emitting sewer gas. So the master bathroom was unusable. We closed the door but the gas was leaking into the bedroom too. Fortunately there are a lot of beds in the house (living room also has a pull out) so we made the kids share a bedroom and we moved into the secondary bedroom. We were hoping to stay an extra night due to travel plans but glad we did not extend the stay. Overall, while we enjoyed the ability to walk to the beach, it was not a very good stay. The property needs some care and the construction/traffic noise was a unpleasant surprise.

Beautiful house and view!
I loved staying at this house! It is in a more private area with private access to the beach. The views are amazing. The house is great, very spacious and sleeps many people. It was very clean and had everything we needed to make our own meals. I would absolutely stay there again and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway!

Wonderful location
This house is in a wonderful location. The beach is just a quick walk away with private entrance. There are good views of the water from the deck where you can easily enjoy the sound of the waves. The neighborhood is peaceful. Even though you do get road noise from the passing cars, it just became background noise after a bit. The house is roomy. And has a nice downstairs area for outdoor games and cooking out. We didn't use the kitchen since we mainly ate out, but it looked well supplied. We also didn't connect to the wifi since we had no problems getting signal on our devices. The floor seemed a bit dirty and there were some dirty grilling utensils left down by the grill. But I would say overall it was really clean. Down by the water, the beach was very uncrowded. Even had it to ourselves several times. So it's perfect if you prefer a quiet beach scene. We would use this rental again.

NO WIFI, like listed.. our phones didnt have much service out there and wifi did not work. Light bulbs were busted outside in parking space.making parking garage really dark at night. Messaged the owner about both of these issues, and never did i get a reply on those 3 days we stayed. Table was dirty when we arrived. Not too happy with this rental.

Family getaway
It was a great experience. Everything was nice, clean, and we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed everything about the house. We would definitely be interested in staying again. The tv screen seemed like it was going out or something and had red lines all through it. The drive was a little hard to pull the boat in and out of because of the closeness to the culverts and gate entrance.

You can hear the waves!
We loved our stay at Serenity Dunes. House had everything we needed for our group, it was very comfortable, and very beachy. I really enjoyed being far enough away from the craziness of Crystal Beach but close enough to town in case we had to hit the grocery store or get gas. The short walk to the beach made for many afternoons by the water.

The location and the beach access was great on this house. The place was not clean and alot of things broken and falling apart. For the money, I expected better, for I have stayed at a bunch of rentals on vacation and have always been pleasantly surprised with most. Overall, we have a relaxing time, but did alot of clean up ourselves throughout the stay and left it cleaner than when we arrived.

The booking process was super easy. We had a couple of questions and they were answered super quickly. The house was very clean. The people who were there before us left trash outside and an animal got into it the night before the trash guys came. Vacasa came to clean it all up quickly which really was great. Breezy and so relaxing!!
Loved this location off the beaten path. No crazy hustle and bustle of Galveston island, with easy access to the beach. Surprisingly spent most of the time out on the deck, staying cool and comfortable with the "island breeze"! Add the sound of crashing waves, and it was paradise!
