About this property

The Tree House of Lancaster

Cute little tree house (cabin) deep in the woods. It is just 13 minutes form Clear Creek Metro (a great place for hiking) and 20 minutes from Hocking Hills. The property offers a secluded get away with 2 bedrooms, outdoor seating spaces, fire pit, and charcoal grill. The property sits on 2 acres on a mountainous area that is absolutely gorgeous. It is only 15 minutes from town when you need to come in, but far enough away to feel like you are in your own little oasis

We are also on Airbnb. The listing is cheaper there. Airbnb does not withhold as much from both the renter and host. It is the preferred site for the hosts.

The main bedroom has a full sized bed with 2 night stands and a closet. It overlooks a beautiful view to wake up to and has a sliding barn-like door to close off if you desire. The other is on the opposite side of the house and offers a twin bed , a cot (we have 2 more if you desire), and a booth for seating.

The main living area has a couch, tv, bench for additional seating and plenty of movies. It also has a beautiful gas stove fireplace which works as the heat source for the whole cabin.

The bathroom has ample space to set up your toiletries and has a standing shower with a removable shower head.

There is also limited cellular service in the area, but we have pin pointed areas inside the cabin that allow you to maintain your connection to the outside world.

The place isnt perfect. but it is nice. You are out in the woods. There is the occasional bug here and there. Updates come over time. In the mean time, it is an enjoyable space.

If necessary the cabin can accommodate extra guests as long as they are okay sleeping on additional cots (2 extra) and the couch.

The entire main floor is available for use with the exception of the washer and dryer. Please refrain from using them.

Please do not go underneath the main floor/porch. That is storage and is not suitable for guests.

Cars cannot be driven up the hill drive way. (dips are too big and will cause vehicles to bottom out. Erosion also causes the ground to shift and can cause cars to slide)

This is a stand alone unit set in the woods of South Lancaster. We will not be around for your stay unless you need us to be. Its like renting a cabin from a huge company without the extra hassle or cost. You are entirely on your own unless you require assistance with something. We are only a call/text away!

The cabin is beautiful but creates a very rustic down to earth feel. There is almost no cell services available and there is no internet. Unless you create a hotspot on your own devices of course.

The TV also does not really get a signal where it is placed. We no longer have DirecTV down there. But I guess if you wanted to bring your box it would work 😂. Other than that there is a DVD player down there with 2 drawers of movies. But feel free to bring your own!

The cabin is pretty secluded but is only 15 minutes from town which will have everything you need.

Lancaster has all the chain stores and restaurants you would expect and many AMAZING small shops and restaurants down town. There are a plethora of brochures and menus hanging in the second bedroom of the tree house for you to get an idea of what Lancaster and the surrounding areas have to offer!

The only way to get to the cabin is by vehicle, though once you are down town there is plenty of stuff you can walk to! There is even a bike/walking trail that spans almost the entire city if you so desire (we use it often).

Fall Getaway

My brothers and I stayed at this cabin over the weekend, and overall it was a good experience. The owner was really easy to work with, and very accommodating. We really enjoyed our time there, but I do have to say sleeping was an issue for everyone because of how uncomfortable the mattresses were. That's the reason I couldn't rate it 5 stars.

Our first stay at the log cabin

The property was warm, clean, well organized. The manager was extremely responsive and answered all the question in time. My dog also enjoyed the place. Beds were decent. The drawback is stairs. The place is good for youngsters or the small family with young kids. It was about 20-30 minutes drive to the Hocking hills old man's cave or cedar falls and about 15-16 minutes drive to the grocery store. Just bring your own dvds to watch.
