Perfect getaway with ski in/out access

Very clean and updated with all the amenities we needed and more. It was the perfect condo for my family of 3 for our end of season ski marathon. Just a few well maintained steps and we were on the slope. I enjoyed the efficiency of the check in/out process and the private parking. Will stay again!

Great ski house!

We usually stay in the condos at Oma’s Meadow but wanted to try these ski in ski out houses near the base. This place is an upstairs unit one row away from the slopes. You can easily walk in between the houses to the slopes. You also still have a great view of lifts and skiers going by! Lots of windows give the guests the unique experience of being right in the middle of the action. The home was clean, rustic, and perfect for our family of four. The only thing I would update is the beds.We had to wash the kids’ comforters because they were musty all beds/pillows seemed old and uncomfortable. We’re not picky, so this was fine with us, but new matresses and pillows could make this place a dream! Still a FANTASTIC ski vacation house!

Excellent Time

We had an excellent experience at this location. The house is easy to get to and parking is very convenient. We loved all the windows and being able to watch everyone on the mountain. The kids enjoyed the quick walk down to the slope to play in the snow and easy access to go skiing and snowboarding. Excellent place to stay, we will be returning next year.

Great location-could use some TLC

Great for a quick ski trip to Sugar Mountain-very cozy and we loved the wood burning fireplace! Tip-bring some wood from home because it is very expensive around there. This is an older place but the price and location are worth it.

Great Thanksgiving weekend

We loved the house and had a great stay. The renovations are great. A few things to note, which resulted in a lower star-rating: -mattresses are very uncomfortable. It wouldn’t hurt to invest in some softer, more comfortable ones. -showers didn’t get very warm at all. Maybe the hot water heater could be adjusted. -on VRBO, the photo of the outside of the home shows that it’s slopeside, but there’s a row of houses between this one and the slope. It didn’t matter for our trip because we weren’t skiing, but I wanted to make other visitors aware that this one photo is misleading. -a coatrack would have been helpful. There’s plenty of room for a hanging rack or coat tree. -fireplace doesn’t vent properly even with the flu open completely. Smoke billowed into the house through the damper because it doesn’t appear to be properly sealed.

Time warp. Needs a lot of work

Pulling up, you'll notice it's the one home in disrepair. Plywood discolored, warped. Plain plywood covering damaged deck by door. Outdated furniture. 2' thick TV that could only be found online using "vintage". Heater very loud. Can feel springs in beds. Very squeaky. Windows dirty or no longer sealed. Xmas decor still up.. not early, it's dusty. Steel rebar sticking up >2' in road across from property punctured our radiator. I'm usually a 4-5 star rater. This was a bad experience. Just dont.

Worse than expected

I read previous reviews so felt I was prepared. I have stayed in many vrbo homes and this is my first non- high star review/ comments. Most important thing I was looking for was a true ski in-out. I even google mapped it to see how close to lodge. It is very close to lodge, however this home is by the road (which made it easier to get in and out to car) however you have to hike down a bit to the slope which was rather difficult. We tried it a couple of times and ended up still driving to the lodge. The main picture with the little wooden bridge on the path is from the slope so this is what will need to be traveled to get from slope to house and when icy is not simple in ski boots. Location is VERY close still to the lodge. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning, however it's hard to clean maintenance issues. The pocket light in kitchen was falling out which made opening the kitchen cabinet very difficult. The interior needs a painting or at least a good scrubbing on common areas of walls, doors and molding. The chair in front of the fireplace has been repaired once but has come apart and all the stuffing is showing in the back. The home should not be rented without replacing the mattresses. The main bedroom was so bad that my husband found the sofa more comfortable as the twin beds in 2nd room were about the same. Unless your a college kid who can sleep on the floor and do not care, this home needs new mattresses. The walls and building itself are very thin with little insulation. The electric heater, heaters in bedrooms and fireplace did keep the home warm. There are a lot of these round homes available in the area and I would suspect many are the same. Just fair warning this home needs some real maintenance and new beds. Hooks and open area with folding chairs near the door made it easy for ski boots and changing. Windows offered a great view, although you will hear the snow blowers all night

Quick Trip

Great location, easy on/off the mountain. Reno's that have been done are nice. Not fancy, but comfortable and a great place to crash for a quick trip to Sugar!

Good for a weekend but not super comfortable

This older home was good for our 2 day ski weekend but the sleeping arrangements were not the best. The queen bed in the master wasn’t bad but the 2 twin beds in the other bedroom were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. With that being said, we ended up taking the cushions off the couch and making a pillow bed in the living room to sleep on (which actually was kind of fun). The proximity to the slope made it worth it tho! A quick ski or walk down to the lodge!

Great view and location to ski in/out but….

We loved the location (need 4wheel drive) view was amazing and you can ski out but in might be more difficult if new to skiing. The appliances all worked and fireplace was great! But, the house is very outdated, furniture is worn and old and beds were uncomfortable especially twin beds they were hard as a rock! The carpet is old and worn too. It was somewhat clean in bathrooms and always had hot water. But as said in other reviews the house needs a complete update. The only TV was so old I was surprised it even worked and the cable was on and off on some channels. When heat came on you could not hear the TV. WiFi was excellent though.

Good location, terrible property

This property was far worse than I even expected. I wish I could post pictures of the staples protruding out the back of the couch, the nail popping out of the floor at the bent up floor threshold, the stuffing coming out of the back of the chair, and the vertical blinds falling off. It was unsafe, uncomfortable, and the absolute worst place we have ever stayed.

Great Place for Skiing

The place was very clean and comfortable. It is located right on the slope of Sugar Mountain. My husband and I came to ski and it was so nice to be able to ski right out the back door. The view was beautiful. You can watch the skiers right from the warmth of your kitchen and dining room area. There is a heater that has a fan that blows hot air out and if you’re standing right underneath it, it feels awesome especially after a day of skiing. It is loud though so you have to turn the TV up when it comes on and it is industrial looking. The place is outdated. Most everything including the appliances and kitchen utensils are from the 80’s. But everything works and it’s clean except for stains in carpet. This place could be super cute with a makeover. The location is what we were there for so it worked wonderfully for us. From what I have seen, it looks like a lot of places in the area are in need of updating. Check in and out was easy and they even put out the Ss mple soaps and shampoos that the hotels have, a very nice touch. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Thank you!

Clean and comfortable

It is an older home, but we’ll kept and comfortable. Mattresses may need some updating and for folks like us, need more detailed instructions on how to operate TV and which remote to use. Solid internet connections.
