If possible, I would give more stars! Our stay here was so pleasant. Our hosts quickly became friends. We learned much from them and they told us about places that weren't in the visitor info. Wonderful stay!
I very much enjoyed my stay at this location. Upon my arrival the host ensured my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Plenty of food stocked in the room, fresh flowers on the table and everything was nice. I would stay here again.
John and Jacqui are gracious hosts, offering suggestions and personalized experiences for their guests. We were able to really experience the joy of living in Alaska. Their home is a welcome base for exploring the Kenai region.
My son and I had a great time. The property was spectacular and located perfectly for our trip. Hosts were great ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our trip. Highly recommend and will be staying again in the future.
We had a great time at the “Red Cabin”. The property owners were great. We stayed in the bigger of the two cabins and it was prefect. Thank you for the yummy breakfast food, also. We would stay here again.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay in this cozy cabin retreat. The hosts were extremely helpful & knowledgeable about the area and their recommendations were spot on! We were warmly greeted upon our arrival & given an information tour of the cabin’s workings. An advantage of this cabin was the hosts lived onsite & were readily available for assistance, if needed. The hosts had stocked the pantry/fridge with breakfast items to include my favorite oatmeal & juice! In addition they provided a variety of fresh fruit which made our visit very welcoming. The fresh flowers on the table was an added personal touch. Although the quiet & solitude of the forest made us feel like we were in the middle of nowhere, we were only about 10 mins from Soldotna. The cabin’s central location provided an excellent staging area to visit Kenai, Homer, Seward, & the Kenai Fjords NP. The nearby Kenai River also presented fishing opportunities. Communication with the hosts prior & during our stay was excellent. Given the opportunity, we would definitely stay here again.
Worst experience we've ever had! Would give this place a zero if we could.
We arrived around 6:30 pm and was checked in by the wife. All was good until we asked if they had designated smoking area or should we drive off the property since this was a non smoking cabin in the woods. We were then informed that her husband John was not going to be pleased that we were smokers. I assured her that we had no problem smoking off the property, we don't smoke in our home or cars (We are extremely clean people) and it was no big deal since we've always stayed in non smoking places and there's never been a problem. After she left we went into town and bought a few groceries and dinner to go and got back to the cabin around 9. The husband John showed up about 15 min later, talked to us for 20 minutes about his fishing trip he had earlier in the day and then proceeded to let us know that he hated to be the bad guy to make us leave but his ad said no smoking cabin. He talked to us that whole time knowing that he was about to kick us out! I told him that we hadn't smoked one cigarette on his property and didn't plan to. He said that wasn't good enough, he didn't allow any smoking on or off his property. That's when I let him know that there is a difference between saying the property is non smoking and no smokers allowed at all and as a former teacher he should know this. He has no say as to what we do off his property and he cannot evict someone who didn't break any of his rules. He said sorry and hated to be the bad guy and for us to feel free and eat our, cold by now dinner, before we left. At 9:30 at night in the middle of Alaska! No where in town had any openings. We drove around and finally found a hotel in another town down the road for almost double. DO NOT STAY HERE! These people are strange to say the least.
