Stay in the center of downtown near the dock. Everything is in close walking distance. The Stedman Red House is only a few steps from the harbor. There are 2 roomy bedrooms, both with adjustable, Tempurpedic, queen sized beds. There is also a small, upstairs loft with a good quality, fold-out, futon sofa. Both bedrooms and the loft as well as the living room have a TV. The house has an open floor plan with hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings. One of the nicest features of the house is the wonderful, private deck overlooking Thomas Basin, the city’s boat harbor. This is a rare find in downtown Ketchikan, to have a large deck with a harbor view. The deck is nicely furnished and is complete with a large gas barbecue. And, yes, there is an authentic, totem pole located just outside the front door. The pole is a classic Haida pole called Three Watchmen, Eagle, Raven Totem Pole. It is on the neighboring private property but viewable from the public sidewalk. This house has private off-street parking for 2 cars, another rare find in downtown Ketchikan.
