Mermaid House took a hit from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. As a result we have new furniture and appliances throughout. The property is better than ever.

NOTE: Not a long term Rental. Stays of more than 30 days or 1 calendar month can be arranged but must be arranged with the Property Manager. Please use "Ask Manager a question" on this page for stays longer than cited above.

Spacious living, dining & kitchen area. There is a 60” TV in living room. Master bedroom has a TV. Both have Roku, Netflix and local Spectrum channels (Internet TV). Have High speed internet. Master bedroom has a King-sized bed. 2nd bedroom has a queen-sized bed. There is a laundry with full sized washer and dryer.

Large comfortable deck with gazebo and dock. There is plenty of seating for friends and family.

There is a dock available for your boat for an extra charge of $7.00/day to a maximum of $140/stay.

Located near some great Gulf Beaches including Caladesi Island which has been ranked as the #1 beach in America. Also, nearby Sun West Park is a spring fed lake and activity center with a great beach and lots of recreational opportunities.

Wedding trip

We were in town for a wedding. Great location, convenient to everything. Didn't get to enjoy all of the amenities of the house due to weather and time constraints, but hope to stay here again in the future. Communication with management was excellent. Overall a good experience.

Lovely home and location

Lovely house. Very comfortable and well stocked. Really enjoyed the swim spa. I'm recovering from a broken shoulder and shattered patella and bought some foam water weights to do PT in the spa. So much more fun in the water.

3rd time teturn renter..... We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the prace and quietness of this location. Had a wonderful time scalloping but fishing was poor this trip. Until next year..

This house met all our needs. I was very surprised when we got there. This house exceeded my expectations. It was on a corner lot of the canal. The house was very clean.

Love the mermaid house

The house was great. The view was incredible. Lots of birds came to visit and we even spotted a dolphin playing in the canal. We loved the swim spa! Great location. Would highly recommend!

Hurricane Idalia Cut Vacation Short

We were impressed with the house and location (easy to get to Gulf waters). The guys were excited to catch fish off the dock too. We enjoyed one night at the house (with the beautiful sunset) and made a 14 mile trip into the gulf waters that first morning. After arriving back at the house, I noticed that we were under a mandatory evacuation zone. Disappointed with the weather only. So thankful the house survived the hurricane so we can return to the Mermaid House. Working with Don was easy. He processed our refund quickly (due to mandatory evacuation).

Great stay with our family

Great house we enjoyed the outside area a bunch. It was close to family so they were able to visit. Beds were really comfortable. The only complaints I would have is the shower head in the main bathroom was not great and there is a shelf very poorly placed that I kept hitting my elbow on. I just ended up using the other shower the rest of the time and it was great. Overall great experience and great place.

Home from home (but nicer by the water)

We had a lovely stay in this property. Everything we could possibly need was there except a sunlouger would have been nice so that I could have relaxed in comfort whilst my husband was fishing. The pool was simply amazing, it felt so fresh and clean and the tempature was perfect. All lounge seating and bed were really comfortable (once we discovered the bed firmness could be changed via a remote, we then had a lovely soft mattress). Fab huge TV in the lounge which we enjoyed in the evenings. The immediate area was very quiet and to be honest there isn't much to do locally (that we found) but when you have such a lovely home to stay in it doesn't matter. There is a great pizza place just up the road. Great taste and price. Don our contact was very easy to contact and he came back with answers to any questions quickly. Altogether a great stay. Thank you.

Surrounded by quiet, friendly neighbors. Fishing in the Gulf within minutes from the available dock. Take advantage of this convenience if you're bringing your boat! Cozy home with beautiful views. Upgraded stove, microwave and dishwasher. Beautiful granite countertops. Our Frenchie fur babies were happy and comfortable too!

Mermaid has been our home since 2016. We have a sailing catamaran called DAME which is a play on our names together. She is moored on the property while we are away awaiting our next adventure on her. We love to travel and found ourselves with an opportunity to be in New Zealand for a year. We have cruised the Bahamas.

We bought an RV and are now "land cruising". In the summer of 2024 we did a trip from Florida to Canada and Alaska. What an adventure.

We chose this home due to its location and quick access to the Gulf. We both believe that homes die when empty and want to share our beautiful home with our guests. Hudson is a wonderful Gulf front community offering many amenities with a beach atmosphere, boating, fishing and waterfront restaurants.

We were lucky to befriend Don Himes who is managing our property for VRBO. Don has been managing VRBO's in Hudson since 2014 and is also an officer of the local Hudson Beach Yacht Club. He has a 4.9 out of 5-star rating and understands what people want.

Our hope is that you enjoy our home and the community.

Why they chose this property

We are long time sailors who wanted a home on the Gulf with easy access to same.

It's location at the corner of two canals, one of which is the main access to the Gulf was ideal.

Hudson is a great little town on the Gulf that's not too touristy but close enough to major attractions to be an excellent base of operations.
