Great Unit, But Beware the Stairs
We did a long weekend at the unit in late April 2024. The reviews of the Unit on line are accurate so I will not repeat here. Very nice unit. Great Views.
We reserved the Unit in Jan/Feb. The owner reached out to us in March saying that the sliding glass walls had been damaged during the hurricane in the prior year and that they would not be repaired by the time we arrived. According to the owner, this meant that the sliding glass walls would be open the entire time in the living area but the bedrooms could be closed off and air-conditioned. Some friends of ours had also booked in the building so we were not able to find another unit with that short notice so we agreed to stay. Turns out the walls were fixed when we got there. So, no harm, no foul.
However, about 2 weeks out our friends let us know that their property owner had let them know that the elevator to our units (they were in the same side of the building just a few floors down) was not working. This turned out to be a big pain. This unit is on the 6th floor. If you take the stairs from the ground floor, it’s 9 flights from the street level at roughly 20 steps per flight. You could another elevator in another column of units to the roof top, and then walk down 3 flights and then reverse that to leave, regardless there were stairs to climb one way or the other. IF YOU HAVE MOBILITY ISSUES, DO NOT RENT THIS UNIT. I inquired of our owner and he was non responsive.
