Thorough instruction provided by host a complete with a few personalized touches of refreshments for the adults and apples for the kids (goats. The cottage was spacious, beautifully decorated, well maintained, comfortable furnishings and well supplied. Easy parking. Would love to stay again if we get back to the area.

Perfect Spot for Family Christmas!

Cutest place I have stayed at in a while!

The host has done a phenomenal job making sure tenants have everything they need. We stayed in town for my niece's wedding and it was perfect. I would come back again for other trips to the mountains. This place was decorated for Christmas, everything in the kitchen was labeled and easy to find. I couldn't have asked for a better stay!! To the host, Thank you ! To vacationers, book now! You won't regret it!

Best mountain getaway

This house was absolutely perfect. From the front porch rocking chairs to walking down to feed tho goats. The layout was spacious yet cozy. Everything was organized. The host was top notch. I’ve seen dozens of plays at flatrock playhouse and they never disappoint. Hiking at dupont state park. Shopping and dinner in nearby hendersonville. Grocery store within 5 minute drive and flatrock bakery right around the corner. I couldn’t ask for more.

Best vacation ever!

We checked in after Christmas. Two of our children and their partners joined us. The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for 6 adults and one infant. The house was decorated for Christmas. We loved that since one of our children hadn’t made it home. The property manager was very helpful and left small touches at the house that made us very welcome. The book about the area was wonderful. We walked down the road and fed the goats. Everybody loved that. We visited down town Hendersonville, Ashville, and Brevard. We hiked in two national forests - DuPont and Pisgah. The waterfalls were beautiful. We will definitely return, if we don’t buy our own place in the area. Nobody wanted to go home. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Family Apple Picking Weekend

We just returned from a weekend apple picking trip with extended family. Our stay at the Flat Rock Cottage was wonderful. Plenty of space for all of us (4 adults and 4 children) to spread out and relax. We especially loved the large front porch with swing and rocking chairs. Woody has done an amazing job to ensure his guests are comfortable during their stay … from organizing and labeling kitchen cabinets and drawers to leaving an apple for our kids to feed the goat in the community. We also appreciated Woody’s sense of humor in that he “wouldn’t even begin to guess what coffee we liked” and instead left us some “emergency” coffee packets to get us by until we could stop by the store. We did run into one issue during our stay, but Woody was unbelievably responsive and quick to resolve the situation. We plan on making our apple picking weekend a yearly family tradition and look forward to staying at the Cottage next year.

Amazing Cottage

One of the nicest properties we have stayed! Since we had a wedding to attend at Highland Lake Inn and resort, we decided to make a mini family vacation. The accommodations could not have been any better and we will certainly tell our friends about this home.
