We were up visiting our son and our friends son for Winter Carnival at Tech. Mike and Julie were the perfect hosts! The little extra details they provided made it even better. The house was amazing! Pictures on site don’t due it justice. The view over Houghton was incredible! There was plenty of room for both our families.
What a beautiful place! Our family came from all over to celebrate our Tech grad in December. Mike and Julie had it decorated for the holidays which added to the coziness and celebration. The view was amazing, kitchen stocked, enough room for all of us, a perfect trip. Thanks!!
Beautiful recently built home overlooking the Keeweenaw waterway and Houghton downtown. Tastefully decorated, and all the necessities you could hold for and then some. The Vrbo pictures do not do this home justice. If you’re looking to stay anywhere near this area, stay at this home. You will not be disappointed.
Mike and Julie present a wonderful stay. Gorgeous in and out. Perfect for fine wine and dining with friends. Followed by a wood fire in the pit with a view that drops your jaw.
Beautiful home. Amazing views. Perfect spot to enjoy a winter escape while visiting our son at MTU. Location is super convenient for visiting Houghton, located right next to the Quincy mine property. We enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and the sauna.
Gorgeous and welcoming, an absolutely wonderful place to stay
The house was beautiful, tastefully decorated with delightful details, so many that every time we looked around a room we found something new to ooh and aah at. The furnishings and amenities were plentiful, seems like someone had thought of almost anything we might need. The daytime and nighttime view were both fantastic, I got one of the closest and clearest looks I ever had at the moon and the stars with the binoculars they provided. The hosts were very responsive and extremely thoughtful. They even brought us enough staples to feed us when we were starving after a late night arrival, as well as breakfast and snacks for a trip to Isle Royale. We had fun at the neighboring Copper Mine Shaft as well. Our only regret was not being able to stay a little longer on this trip.
The views from this home are spectacular. We awoke the first morning to a gorgeous sunrise to the East and a double rainbow across the sky to the West. The home was clean and so beautiful and perfect for our stay with 4 couples. Well stocked kitchen and some added welcome touches made our stay very wonderful. We enjoyed the sauna several nights. Thanks so much and we will definitely be back!
I gave a rating of the listing as less than fully accurate because it did not convey completely how beautiful this home and location is!! We were here in the summer and the grounds and the view were stunning. The house is beautifully furnished & decorated, completely equipped, and so comfortable! Mike & Julie were great hosts, went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and were attentive to every question we had. Rave review!
The architect and the designers hit it out of the park with this one. This is no ordinary home, this is the epitome of design and is matched perfectly to the unique site the home sits on. It's the perfect home for anyone that appreciates an awesome floor plan with exceptional views.
The location provides a great home base for all of ones adventures throughout the Keweenaw Peninsula. Our adventures included a relaxing day long pontoon boat ride with plenty of swimming on Portage Lake and a lunch full of Pasties. We also took a leisurely car ride up to Copper Harbor to take in the sights in lieu of riding the ATV's up there.
Back at the Ranch, one would think that everyone would gravitate towards the beautiful kitchen island to chit chat but you would be wrong, everyone in our group gravitated to the fire on the deck with the awesome views. We were by the fire in the cool early morning with coffee and late night before bed,,,a great spot to catch up with friends and family. All in all, our group had a wonderful 3 night stay at this magnificent luxury rental, it definitely feels like your own home away from home because they have all the creature comforts at your finger tips, from the couch to the kitchen, from the frying pan to the fridge and the saran wrap to the sauna, it's all there...just check-in and Enjoy!!
We don’t usually leave reviews, but this property and its owners were a definite exception and deserve praise. This was easily our best rental experience ever, and we cannot wait to stay again. Our adult kids enjoyed the snack basket, and we gathered around the long kitchen island multiple times during our stay. When we reached out to the owners with a question, their response time was less than a couple of minutes. We cannot wait to stay again. Thank you!
It doesn’t get any better than this. Beautiful, clean home, plenty of space, excellent communication, stocked with everything we needed and then some. We will be back.
We visited Houghton/Hancock for a long weekend to see our son at MTU. This house was amazing in warm and welcoming comfort. Our hosts Julie and Mike were very quick to communicate with and added special touches for us when we arrived, which we greatly appreciated! This house has a large, well equipped kitchen; spacious living room; comfortable bed; nice big primary bathroom; hot tub on the large deck. And the beautiful views out of all the windows. Clean and well kept; beautiful yard. Grocery and restaurants just down the street. We ate at Gino’s, The Library and the Den. All very good. We would definitely stay here again !
This home was amazing! The homeowners went above and beyond to ensure that my wife and I had an amazing extended weekend for her birthday with friends. The home was very well stocked with anything we could need. Everyone in our group is looking forward to returning!
The views are amazing and the property was beautifully maintained. Perfect home base to explore the Peninsula. Check in was easy and the hosts were very responsive and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful, comfortable home, conveniently close to everything while still remaining private. Loved the hot tub, sauna and fire pit. Gorgeous views of the Lake from the expansive deck. Our family of 6 had more than enough room to spread out. Julie was very helpful with recommendations of local activities and restaurants, and was extremely responsive to any text, usually within a few mins. Would highly recommend staying at this gorgeous home!
