The house was mostly, clean. I did pull out the trundle in the living room and was met with crumbs. The shower and kitchen were clean enough, though. You need to park your car inside the gate in order to ensure it's safe. It's kind of a production to deal with the gate if you're coming and going a lot. The first night I was there, there were 2 gunshots on the block, so a little scary. Also, there were lots of stray dogs and some weird people out and about. For what it is, the price is right.
The house is close to downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona. There was a large park nearby to walk my dogs. The home was very clean and perfect for my dogs and me.
It’s a spot to rent if you are looking for a short term rental in the South Tucson area. It comes equipped with a gate as well as furnishings inside. One of the best things about my stay here is a discovered a place called Pico de Giyos. It’s a beautiful and cozy spot that may be small, but it’s big on flavor. While everything on the menu is delightful, their shrimp tacos are the true standout. Perfectly cooked shrimp are tucked into soft, warm tortillas and topped with fresh, flavorful ingredients that create a burst of taste in every bite. Each taco has the ideal balance of textures—crispy on the outside yet tender and juicy on the inside, making them a must-try for seafood lovers.
Another highlight at Pico de Gallo is their beans. Often an overlooked side dish, the beans here are rich, creamy, and packed with a depth of flavor that’s hard to forget. They pair perfectly with any dish, especially the tacos, providing a comforting and satisfying complement to the vibrant flavors of the shrimp.
This spot is more than just a meal; it’s an experience that celebrates authentic Mexican flavors with heart and precision. For anyone craving fresh, authentic Mexican food, Pico de Gallo delivers in every bite.

Try the fish … but cook it elsewhere
Booking was simple and stress-free and property manager mostly responsive. Minimal information on local amenities provided by property manager, so best to do your own research and planning. Property conveniently located within a short drive of the airport and Kino Sports Complex (if that is what brings you to Tucson). Photos/description on listing did not make it clear that access to the bathroom requires walking through second/smaller bedroom. Thermostat/climate control is not super intuitive and it took some doing to find a comfortable temp. Decor is dated if that matters to your satisfaction. Very minimal/basic kitchen amenities, so plan to eat out or bring/buy your own cooking spray, basic spices, etc. Property located in an older, more depressed section of Tucson if local color and flavor be your aim.
The unit was OK, just not what we really wanted, it is on us, location was OK, easy to get to everything.
More and more the units don't have a TV that allows you to watch local news, etc...
No washer and dryer (on us, didn't read fully).
No real closet, just storage room with some limited hanger space along with all the cleaning supplies, etc..
It was OK, we know better next time.
Mark was a wonderful host. There were a couple things I needed to contact him for and he responded immediately. Living room seating was very comfortable. Large bedroom. The only thing I would have liked is a little more lighting over the dining table.
Really easy access from the freeway. No frills, no issues. Fenced in yard for dogs. The neighborhood is industrial and sparse - no fast food, or close door dash, grocery, that we were able to find. We tried a local restaurant and it was really good!
The Host was extremely accommodating, especially with a very late check-in and an extra day. The property was very clean, the beds are comfortable and the rain shower is absolutely amazing. The Host responded very quickly to my inquiries, which made booking this rental very easy. I have plans to visit Tucson a few times a year, and will rent this property again
Due to coronavirus issues we needed some flexibility in our stay and it was given. We really appreciated that. It was a weight off our backs during a stressful time. We were also truly pleased with how clean and comfortable the apartment was inside. It made quarantining easier than we thought. Thank you again.
