Cottage By The Sea - Oregon Beach Vacations

Welcome to Cottage by the Sea, in Lincoln City! This one story three bedrooms and two bath cottage is perfect for you and five guests. Park the car, grab your bags, and head inside!

Up three steps and your walking through the front door, into the living room, complete with a recliner, large couch, flat screen TV and fireplace. Set the table for up to six and enjoy all of your meals together. There is also a family room on this level, complete with a second couch, loveseat, and recliner and large flat screen TV. The sofa folds out into a comfy queen sleeper and there is a DVD player, board games, and cable TV.

The sliding glass door leads out to a furnished and partially covered back deck, where there is a BBQ for guest use. Back inside you’ll find a bright and inviting kitchen complete with everything you need to whip up snacks or homemade meals.

Down the hallway you will discover that each room has its own bathroom. The primary bedroom has a queen size bed and dresser. The en suite bathroom has a walk-in shower with a rain shower head. The guest room offers another queen size bed and attached bath with a shower/tub combo.

Beach access is a short two blocks away and the Chinook Winds Casino is a few more blocks to the North. Head into the center of town to find easy beach access, or simply take a walk and explore the unique shops and find the perfect souvenir for your loved ones back home. The Taft district has two glass blowing shops that you can visit to create your own glass creation!

Weekend getaway

The house was musty when we arrived, but freshened up nicely when we opened windows. Its a beautiful, peaceful neighborhood and a close walk to the beach. The house is spacious and comfortable for our family. Bathrooms were very clean, and the TV room was very comfortable. However, the beds, carpets, and a few kitchen implements need updating or cleaning. It was a nice weekend.

Perfect for what we needed!

Close to the beach, restaurants and store. Nice play to stay, matches description of what’s listed! Nothing fancy, but very homey, plenty of space for our family, and no stress. Great, relaxing getaway

Very dirty carpets and smell

Nice house, enjoyed walking beaches. Charged high cleaning fees. And appeared place was very dirty when we arrived. We cleaned kitchen and vacuum carpets it wasn't as bad. Never saw carpets that dirty to pay such a high price to pay. We cleaned the place and left it much better than when getting there.

Centrally located, great property!

This house is in a great location, certainly walking distance to the beach, casino, Safeway, bank, or pizza. It was very cozy and comfortable. Everything we needed was available. We brought the food and drinks and had no other worries. Thank you!

Short weekend getaway

We really enjoyed our short little getaway. The kids enjoyed the easy access to the beach, which is within walking distance. Had to contact property management about the trash can being full and some trouble with the cable tv which we heard back from them within a couple of hours and someone came the same day to help with the issues. It’s a sweet spot, with the comforts you need for a stay away from home. Thank you!

I would have preferred notes in the notebook on the counter to include things like "How to use the gas stove" or "Check out instructions". You really need to change the door handle at the front door. It took 15 minutes to wiggle it just right to get the key to turn. We really liked the house a lot, but a little welcome note with some instructions would have been wonderful!

Not enough pot lids

Me and my Fam stay 5-12-22/5-15-22. It was very warm welcoming not cluttered. And plenty of room, also there was a fam room perfect for the kids and there ps2. If there was 1 thing I had to say negative about the sweet cottage…. There was not enough pot lids😆. I will be rent this place again👍For sure. Thank you it was perfect 🤩

I looked to see if it was possible to stay longer when we arrived and we enjoyed it so much we decided to extent our time but it was booked that quick. Conveniently located and everything was close and the beach and sunset was magnificent. Will go back next year because Lincoln City is so much nicer then Newport and lots more to do. Could have used a little bit of back yard space for my older dog however we got along okay.

cottage almost by the sea

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: we went to the ocean to relax and enjoy, we did both. 6 of us had no problem staying in the cottage with plenty of room for all. The description of location was not accurate, you could hear and smell the ocean but no view and the back yard resembled a jungle. No beach parking but we lucked out and found places. At the time of our visit they were building a house next to the cottage which came as a surprise when they started working in the A.M. The staff of OBV was very helpful and understanding. All of the things you need for daily life were available and working as listed. All things considered I would use OBV again on my next trip to the area and I would stay at the same cottage if it was available. Gary and family from BEND, Or GO SEAHAWKS!!!

As advertised

The Cottage was adorable. We wanted to buy it the minute we walked in. As other commenters have suggested...the down sides were the beds, and the state of the BBQ. The beds are way too soft, and the BBQ had mold on it, and wouldn't stay lit. There is something wrong with the BBQ. It would light, then go out, yet the entire deck area smelled like gas. It could have been the wind, but not likely. I think it's much more likely there is a hole in the gas tube, or the regulator is broken. The mold i can forgive. It's lincoln City in December, but with no way to heat up the grill, it's just going to get worse and worse until it's properly fixed. Sorry we forgot to start the dishwasher on the way out. we remembered about the time we hit Otis and feel bad about that. We'd stay here again, in a heartbeat...we might bring our own hibachi, but we'd stay here again. THANKS!!

Maintenance Issues

This is a cute home in a nice neighborhood with a very convenient location. Upon arriving, we noticed the TV and the gas fireplace in the main living room did not work. We decided to relocate to the second small living room and the small heater in there did not work either. Maintenance came said the main TV was broken & he could not get the fireplace to work. He recommended putting a fan on the kitchen counter to push warm air into the second living room. That did not help, so we called again and we were given two small space heaters to warm up the second living room. They worked, but they were very noisy and emitted a dusty odor. It was very hard for my father to hear the TV with both heaters running. Since we only stayed one night, these issues definitely impacted our stay.

Fun weekend

The house was very clean and had all the accessories we needed. It was a 5-7 minute walk to the beach or casino. Unfortunately the TV Roku player did not hold a charge from the TV so we had some trouble with that over the few days we were there. We managed to plug it into a charger we brought. Also in the back bathroom these little black Beatle bugs would come out on the floor whenever the shower or bath was running. Then die right there a few hours later. It was very strange and not great. The backyard was torn up and just a bunch of dirt and tree roots however on a positive side, one morning there was a deer and two bucks laying relaxing in the backyard dirt for a few hours. Overall we had a lovely weekend but I do think they need to get someone out there to see about the bugs and get that backyard finished. Also repair the TV.

Perfect size for three separate sleepers

What a delightful gem this house is. Upgrades to bathroom and kitchen are a delight and the back deck off the back bedroom was perfection for coffee mornings listening to the waves. Close enough to walk to the beach. Three separate sleeping spaces with the pull out couch in the second living room made it perfect. We could not figure out how to work the fireplace but it was no problem because they have central heat.

Neighborhood was great. No ocean view, but it was great otherwise. Couldn’t get the gas fireplace going so had to get a maintenance guy in, then it was fine. Wasn’t clear that I couldn’t take my cat until after we had paid. And no way to put a pet deposit or clarify this in the sign-up for the property.

The rental was very clean and the furniture and amenities were in great condition, which is always a worry when it's pet friendly. I think the pictures represent the rental very well. We did find the hall bathroom to have a damp towel smell, which I think was coming from the shower curtain, but again it was all very clean. The house is located back in the trees, so I think that's probably the challenge they have, it just seems a little damp. The house needs a quick cleaning outside, but I'm sure it's hard to keep clean with all of the trees around it and we are getting into fall. The only other thing, is that the previous renters didn't clean up after their pets outside, there seemed to be dog droppings all around outside, which I don't think the cleaning staff should have to take care of. Overall, it was a good house and exactly what you can expect at a very affordable price! We would stay there again.

The location was ideal for access to the beach, HWY 101, and other activities. We loved the fact our little dog was able to come along and stay! One of the only issues was an extremely hard mattress in what looked to be the master bedroom which caused the bed to creek almost every time someone would move. Other than that, great experience and would look to rent the place again next year!

Multigenerational coastal visit

Cozy house in nice neighborhood. Well stocked kitchen, remodeled bathrooms, adequate beds. Family room enjoyed though couldn’t get tv to work.
