Great stay in a great place

We had a wonderful stay in the house which is in a very quiet place. House is comfortable, very well equipped and the master bedroom is awesome with large windows, you have the feeling to be in the trees. Outdoor is very nice too to appreciate the evenings. It’s only 20’ from Lassen Volcanic NP which is a great place to visit for several days: hiking Lassen peak with a top view, swimming in summit lake, visiting the small but well done museum, take good time at manzanita lake, etc… we stayed only 2 days and more would be welcome. Definitely a great experience to stay here.

Beautiful accommodations in quiet setting

This is a lovely home that can accommodate multiple guests. Plenty of room to spread out. Has every amenity. Well-stocked kitchen. There was difficulty reaching the owner to check in. We never received an access code until 45 minutes prior to check in time. It is in a remote area with limited services nearby, which made the situation even more difficult and stressful.

Close to Lassen

This home is less than 20 minutes from Lassen Volcanic National Park. Home was comfortable, clean and well equipped for our family of 6. We enjoyed dinner on the patio every night. This cabin has a rustic mountain and cool 80's vibe including the orange carpet. we loved coming home after great exploring at Lassen. Nice quiet location and a peaceful stay.

Nice stay close to Lassen!

The house was nice and big and only 10-15 minutes from Lassen Volcanic NP. The property is cool with a river running in the back, and it’s very peaceful! Only thing I would ask for is updated pots and pans because they were all non-stick that wasn’t nonstick anymore so cooking was kind of a pain! But other than that, no complaints with this property!

Wonderful Experience!

My husband, daughter, two dogs, and I had a wonderful visit. In all reality it was far too short, but we made the most of our time soaking up Burney Falls, Mt. Lassen, and the excellent cabin. While we enjoyed some meals in the well-equipped kitchen, we also traveled into Shingletown to Pioneer pizza and enjoy every slice of their food as well. Everything you could possibly need is located within the walls of the beautiful cabin and just outside lies an oasis. Not only can you hear Battle Creek running, but you can see it and walk down to it. These hosts are truly top notch and care about their guests. We will certainly be back!

Great location for everything.

We really enjoyed our stay. Clean and everything we needed. Tv and wi-fi were great. Loved the fenced backyard, fire pit and little area down by the creek. Great fishing at McCumber lake. Would recommend to everyone. Will come back again.

Charming!

We absolutely loved our weekend at Rebel's Creek Resort. Such a cozy, welcoming home filled with lots of comforts. Tucked away in the woods with stream by the house. Backyard fence lined with chicken wire so our dogs could explore while outside with us. Roasted marshmallows over firepit. We certainly plan to return again.

Convenient to Lassen Volcanic NP

My wife, adult son, and I stayed at this VRBO during a recent two day trip to Lassen Volcanic NP. We enjoyed reading about the history of the home and the comfortable sofa and fireplace. The host had all the amenities available. The home has a washer and dryer that I didn’t recall seeing in the listing. It is located about 15 minutes from the entrance to the NP and Lake Manzanita. The home is a little dated (red carpet throughout that looks like the original carpet when the home was built). The beds were comfy and the outdoor setting is peaceful with plenty to explore. Great home to stay at if you’re visiting Lassen. There’s a wonderful pizza restaurant in Shingletown (Pioneer Hillside Pizza) to grab a hot meal after a long day visiting Lassen.

Hidden gem near Lassen

This is a retreat cabin, through and through. It's beautiful, surrounded by nature, and relatively secluded. There's no cell service, and the WiFi is o-k. It's definitely more rugged than a hotel, but clean and spacious. Host is responsive too. Plenty of cooking supplies, and we even saw some deer on-premise. At one point the power went out for ~12 hours at around 9PM, but it was the best thing to happen - no mechanical noise, and no light made for the perfect stargazing and relaxation experience. Super close to Lassen, and the house has its own interesting history (built by a former Shasta county medical officer back in the '70s). Would 100% come back

Love the location

Love the location, close to lassen, Burney falls, hat creek and more. House was well stocked with essentials and a lot of room to to enjoy. Maybe needs a little TLC in some areas but I would definitely stay there again and plan on it.

Creek Retreat

Nice comfy cabin with spacious bedrooms. Everything you need was in the cabin from dishes, utensils, bedding, towels, etc. Peaceful morning and evening; all you could hear was the creek and birds. Recommend highly if looking for a cabin retreat.

A Cabin in the Woods

This is a nice home and property. It is especially nice that there is a creek that runs directly behind the house. You can hear it when outside, on the screened in patio and the outside patio. Easy to get to via the staircase down to it. The home is equipped with essentials needed for cooking, coffee making and all around relaxing. It is dark inside due to all the beautiful pine siding. We found it to be quite hot in the two smaller bedrooms upstairs. There are fans both ceiling and stand up but they do little to cool down the rooms. The location is good as well. We made it Lassen National Park, Burney Falls and Large Art Junk Sculptures. I recommend this house but beware there is no air conditioning for hot summers but there are plenty of fans. We enjoyed our stay immensely. If at all possible, I would think about some updates that would not take away from the old-time cabin feel. Thank you for making it available as a rental.

Onsite Creek is Awesome

The balcony off the master bedroom has a view of the creek, there’s a deck where you can sit close to the creek, and a trail to a perfect wading spot, these were our favorite things. The outdoor fire pit and seating was nice, the 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and large dining table were perfect for our family gathering. I hope the owners can replace the carpet sometime and have the housekeeper dust the Venetian blinds, then it will be just about perfect!

This place was Fantastic

This home is well appointed, with lots of creature comforts. They thoughtfully had coffee and tea. Plenty of firewood to warm up during our rainy thunderstorm. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, drink cookware and appliances. They had direct TV with many sport channels. They had outside areas to sit and just watch the wildlife or stream. The home had great seating, plenty of towels and sofe sheets. The views were so beautiful. We easily could have stayed all week.we met neighbors a great older couple. Would recommend highly.

What makes this property unique

The beauty of the mountains can be found in the many lakes, streams, and forests. The elevation is about 4000 feet, so in a typical year, there is snow in the winter time, allowing for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and sledding. In the summer time, the main draw is Lassen Volcanic National Park. There are several points of interest within an hour's drive of Battle Creek Retreat. The springtime is beautiful with the redbud and dogwood in bloom. The fall is equally as beautiful with the many leaves of brilliant color. Our property provides activities within a short walk. Battle Creek runs along one border of our property. In fact our property goes to the middle of the creek. Kids and dogs alike love to play in the creek. Lake McCumber is within walking distance. There are several logging trails where guests can walk their dogs, although no motorized vehicles are allowed. On the back patio there is a gazebo, firepit, a picnic table, and a lot of seating. It is enclosed to give it a feel of complete privacy, although a lack of privacy is certainly not an issue at Battle Creek Retreat.
