About this property

An enchanting cottage for a perfect vacation

Leccino is one of three houses that are part of Podere Pornanino, a 36-hectare organic farm producing extra virgin olive oil. Pornanino is located in the Gallo Nero region, in the heart of Chianti, between Radda, Castellina and Vagliagli and is surrounded by olive trees, wooded hills and two small rivers.

The main farm house and the two stone barns, Leccino and Capannino, have been restored and refurbished to excellent standards all with the same warm and welcoming style.

Leccino is an independent house, very welcoming and comfortable. It includes a double bedroom with bathroom (bath and wall-mounted shower), a fully equipped kitchen and a large living room with dining area. The door opens onto a private terrace and garden overlooking the olive groves, ideal for enjoying the morning sun and the cool evening breeze. The terrace is equipped with table and chairs for outside dining and deckchairs for relaxing. The house has its own central heating system, mosquito nets on the windows, safe, satellite TV, DVD player, high speed internet connection / Wi-Fi, hairdryer, dishwasher, and stereo with CD player.

A very well maintained garden surrounds the houses. Nearby we find the swimming pool (6 x 12 m) with spacious solarium terrace, furnished with deckchairs and parasols. The swimming pool is open from mid-May until the end of September and is shared by the tenants of the houses and occasionally by our family.

There is a separate utility room with washing machine for the exclusive use of the accommodation.

Pornanino is accessible by 5 km of very well maintained unpaved road (strada bianca). The medieval town of Castellina in Chianti with an excellent choice of restaurants, canteens, coffee bars, Coop supermarket, post office, banks and a variety of other shops is 5km away, Florence 32kms and Siena 18km. San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Arezzo, Cortona and many other attractive towns are easily accessible by car. The property is 9 km from Radda in Chianti, another beautiful medieval hilltop town with its cobbled streets and also a good choice of restaurants and shops.

We only accept weekly bookings from Saturday to Saturday.
The local tourist tax is not included and will be charged on arrival.

Retirement trip

Great hosts .super easy to work with . Quiet and relaxing . Very nice outside area and pool. It is remote , so you have to drive on dirt roads to get anywhere. Could use an updated bed and newer towels, but had a very nice time !

Entspannung, Ruhe, dolce vita

Wir haben den Aufenthalt bei Francesca sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr stilsicher restauriert, es ist alles da, was man braucht. Der Außenbereich - umgeben von Oliven - lädt zum Entspannen ein, es ist absolut ruhig und die Privatsphäre wird gewahrt. Der Pool ist groß und gepflegt mit großzügigen Liegen. Francesca ist sehr herzlich und aufmerksam, gibt nützliche Tipps für Ausflüge, Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten etc. Die Lage des Hauses bietet vielfältige Möglichkeiten, das Chianti-Gebiet und auch die weitere Toskana zu erkunden. Die Anfahrt über die Schotterstraße ist mit einem normalen PKW völlig problemlos. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Idyllische plek met geweldige eigenaren

Het is een mooi groot huis voor twee personen met heel mooi uitzicht over de olijfgaard. Het is heerlijk rustig. Een schoon appartement en het is van alles voorzien (inclusief heerlijke olijfolie van de olijfgaard). Francesca en Matteo zijn hele lieve gastvrije eigenaren met een goed gevoel voor humor! Een echte aanrader is een rondleiding van Matteo bij hun olijfolie-boerderij!

Wonderfull location

One of the best location we ever found in this regio. Ideal location to relax. You do need a car because the house is 5 km from the road. Only accessible via the strada bianca.

lovely property in Chianti for a perfect vacation

We spent a lovely week in Chianti in June 2023. Francesca and Matteo were very wonderful hosts who generously shared their knowledge of the Chianti region from the natural habitat to olive cultivation and oil production. We learned a lot, enjoyed the beautiful and well-kept property with its wildlife (fox, pheasant and deer) and our hosts' recommendations of what to do reflected their passion for Chianti. Wonderful Tuscan Experience

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience Tuscany than to stay at Pornanino with Francesca and Matteo. The cottage was charming, clean and well maintained. The property is stunning and serene. Francesca’s recommendations for things to do were helpful in understanding what the region has to offer and Matteo’s seminar on the olive oil production at the property was enlightening and enjoyable. Overall, staying at Pornanino is an experience we highly recommend!

Beste Unterkunft im Chianti

Der beste Platz für einen schönen Urlaub im Chianti! Wir hatten eine wunderbare, ruhige Woche im schönen Pornanino. Francesca und Matteo sind die besten Gastgeber, die wir je kennengelernt haben. Es fühlte sich an wie Familie. Die Unterkunft ist wunderbar, stilvoll und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Der Pool hat uns an heißen Tagen gerettet. Nebenbei haben wir auch gelernt, wie Olivenöl hergestellt wird. Danke dafür. Wir planen wiederzukommen.

Wunderschönes Haus in herrlicher Umgebung

Traumhafter Urlaub

Wer sich sehr gut erholen will, fährt zu Francesca und Matteo. Das Haus ist sehr komfortabel mit allen notwendigen Sachen ausgestattet. Die Umgebung ein Traum, abends kann man Rehe und Wildschweine beobachten. Francesca und Matteo kümmern sich rührend. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Accueil d'une qualité formidable de la part de Francesca et Matteo, dans un décor qui fait rêver.

Location en tout lieu positive sur notre durée des deux semaines passées en pleine toscane comme nous le recherchions. Location située proche de toutes les villes et petits villages. Et puis les bons conseils de Francesca pour visiter les lieux et monuments proche de chez nous. Je pense que nous reviendrons dans cette location qui nous a enchanté et détendu. Encore merci aux propriétaires qui nous ont chouchoutés tout au long du séjour.

Paisibles vacances

Excellent séjour passé au sein de cette propriété. Un logement conforme aux photos et à la description, hyper bien équipé. Les propriétaires, parlant français, ont été de bons conseils pour nos excursions et pour les restaurants. Rencontre exceptionnelle avec nos voisins les animaux (sanglier, biche, renard). Par contre, prévoir un traitement anti-moustique avant le séjour car il y en a beaucoup. Merci à Matteo pour les explications de la fabrication de son huile d'olive qui est déliceuse. Merci à Francesca pour tous les bons moments passés à discutter, blaguer, rires,... A recommander !!!

Havre de paix dans un cadre enchanteur

Perdu dans la campagne Toscane sur les routes blanches qu il faut certes «apprivoiser » , ce gîte est vraiment adorable sur un grand terrain avec vue sur les oliviers ! Très cosy, très bien équipé , piscine agréable, sans oublier les échanges sympas avec Francesca (qui manquent une fois repartis) et Matteo qui peut vous presenter son savoir faire dans la fabrication authentique de l’huile d’olive.

Une addresse à garder!

Idéalement placé entre les plus beaux sites de Toscane, la maison de Francesca est un havre de paix, planté au milieu des oliviers. Tout y est fonctionnel et organisé pour un séjour de rêve. Francesca et Matteo sont charmants et surtout très disponibles, tout en discrétion. Une adresse dont on se souviendra ....

Perfect Holiday

lieu paisible et accueil très chaleureux

Nous avons été très heureux de passer 15 jours dans ce lieu paisible parmi les oliviers. La piscine après des journées bien remplies était très appréciée. La culture des oliviers et la fabrication de l'huile d'olive de façon artisanale nous ont captivés. L'accueil très chaleureux de Francesca et de son mari a été un immense plus pour ce séjour.

A quiet, beautiful property in a remote part of Chianti region. Perfect for a peaceful retreat

Very friendly and helpful owners. Clean and well maintained property. Recommend going during harvest and olive oil making season in Oct. I helped harvest olives by hand and found new respect for the process and the difference between hand made olive oil vs. machine made. The only mill in the area with stone wheels, to "gently" crush olives, quite a process. Closest amenities are 3 miles away on a sometimes rough road. Must have a car. Enjoyed staying at the cottage and driving and exploring all the little villages, hamlets and cities in the area.I feel like I have made friends for life, with the property owners! Thank you Francesca and Mateo

PARADISE FOUND!

I am a very spoiled person. I have found the perfect place to stay in the center of Chianti....which, as we know, is the center of Paradiso! This is not the first time I have stayed here. When I visit Tuscany, I stay at Podere Pornanino in a very special house. It has everything I need and want - from a comfy cozy bed, a great bathroom, a full kitchen, a peaceful living room and the best views in the world. Not to mention, my favorite Tuscan house is very clean and very safe. This place is perfection... quiet, beautiful, and a great location to go anywhere on day trips. The owners are close by and always ready to offer whatever may be needed from advise on touring the area, to finding good restaurants, to more pillows! AND you can attend the weekly seminar regarding everything you have never known about olive oil! The owners produce a fine EVOO. The seminar is fun and very educational - you will never buy store-bought olive oil again! Do not pass up the opportunity to experience living in authentic Chianti - there is NO better place than this!

De très bonnes vacances

Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine dans cette très belle location très bien équipée et très confortable. La vue sur les oliviers et les belles lumieres de Toscane restent de très agréables souvenirs. Francesca nous a très bien accueilli et est très sympathique .

Our perfect location for our honeymoon

The joy staying with Francesca and her family started long before we finally arrived. Everything is done there with great hospitality and love for details, right from the start. The house itself (we stayed in Leccino, which is the smaller one for two adults) is perfect equipped for self-catering. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there. The house is nicely decorated and also relatively cool. We explored a lot of villagges in the surrounding area and if it would not have been to hot (even the locals complained!) it would also be a great destination for some hiking in Chianti. The best place to enjoy deer, badgers, foxes and wild boar was definetly the small terrace, you just have to be silent... For all those who live near big cities, you will hardly find a better spot to leave all the stress and worries behind. To reach Pornanino a offroad capable car is not necessry, after a couple of days driving the road you know all the bumps. Just drive carefully and its no problem with a regular car. If you are not into self catering keep in mind to have a 5km dust road at night, which you share with wild animals. Interesting experience! Francesca knows about everything in her area, so don't mind asking her about a nice place to visit or to eat. We would love to come again! Pornanino is an absolute recommendation.

Des vacances de rêve!

Nous avons passé une semaine formidable dans le gîte Leccino. Tout est là: la nature est splendide, la petite maison très confortabe et bien équipée. La piscine est belle et très bien entretenue. Francesca et Matteo vous accueillent bras ouverts et se donnent beaucoup de mal pour que tout soit parfait. Le réfrigérateur tombé en panne a été remplacé le jour même (un dimanche!) Nous avons visité le moulin à huile d'olives et Matteo nous a donné des explications vraiment intéressantes. Tous les deux sont passionnés par ce qu'ils font et cela se sent! Bref, on a eu un vrai coup de blues en rentrant et on s'est promis d'y retourner dès que possible. Merci Francesca et Matteo pour ces vacances inoubliables! Paul et Carla
