Lovely and quaint mountain cabin

Cabin was charming with a fun layout and rustic decor. It was clean, well maintained and close to Boone/Blowing Rock. We loved the central fireplace and decks. Plenty of towels and blankets were provided which was very nice.

Quaint Mountain Cabin

My wife and I loved this cabin. The bed was very comfortable as were the couches and chairs. Cabin was very clean. WiFi was good. Location was great, back in the woods with a nice bubbling brook we could hear from the deck. Just a short drive to Boone, which was perfect for us as we were there an App State football game. We will definitely book this cabin again!

very convenient location

We spent the Memorial Day weekend at this cabin with our boys aged 4 and 5. Overall, the place was clean, provided plenty of room for us, and most kitchen utensils for cooking or using the grill were provided. While a lot of the cabinetry and appliances are clearly dated, everything was in perfect working order. The biggest plus for us was the location close to the Blue Ridge Parkway (less than 5mins by car) which made accessing the various hiking trails very easy. Both Blowing Rock and Boone can be reached quickly with 15-20mins max and provide plenty of shopping, entertainments, and restaurants. It might help future renters to know that the driveway to the property is gravel and quite steep. The only real downside of the entire experience was a rather high cleaning fee that did not include trash pickup.

Beautiful secluded cabin but just minutes away from Boone.

The property was well maintained and very comfortable. They have recently updated the entire kitchen with custom cabinetry and granite countertops. ( the pics on the website are not updated) and it looks fabulous! The bedding was great and the home was extremely clean. The only negative thing I can say about the property is that there is only one small t.v. And that is upstairs in a bedroom loft. There is no t.v. In the main level den. The home is a trim level and you do have a fair amount of walking up and down from the master bedroom downstairs. The only shower is on the middle level of the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay this weekend. The property is very secluded and we never saw or heard any of the two neighbors on the path.

Fall Visit

Just returned today from our 8 night visit. We enjoyed our stay - I noted other reviews mentioning dated appliances and such; yes some are a bit dated, but to us that really didn't matter - everything works and for us the goal was to get out and see the beautiful autumn scenery. Location is awesome right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The property is near other homes, but well separated and very quiet. The only thing about staying here that is a challenge is getting up the stone drive to the property. During our visit the drive was very badly rutted - I confess when we first arrived, I probably made some of it worse as our car got stuck a couple of times. After that initial try, I figured out where I needed to be on the drive to stay mostly out of the ruts, made sure I kept moving and didn't stop, and it wasn't much of an issue the rest of the week. A truck or SUV with 4WD would have no problem, so plan accordingly. Thanks very much to the owners for sharing this wonderful home!

Great cabin with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway

I would stay here again. The cabin was clean and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the hosts provided plenty of towels, plus the nice little things like hand soap, dish soap, and some rolls of toilet paper to get us by before going to the store. There is no air conditioning but you could leave the windows/sliding glass door open and hear the creek not too far away which helped us fall asleep easily each night. It would have been nice to have a TV on the main floor rather than in the loft. I definitely recommend an all wheel drive to get up the gravel road.

Cozy Mountain Home

My brother and I stayed here for 5 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed the place. It's so cozy and quiet and peaceful. It was really nice being able to make fires in the fireplace in the evenings. The WiFi worked well for getting work done during the day. We will be back again for sure.

lovely in the woods cabin!

We found this cabin so perfect for our needs as we were 4 adults and 2, 5 year old boys occupying the cabin just after Christmas. There was no snow to play in but we took wonderful walks in the area and had plenty to do in Boone to keep us occupied. I could see the rododendrums all around, some as tall as 20 feet! In spring, this must be a fabulous place to be when they are all in bloom.

Quiet location, short rough road drive, needs upgrade, no internet

Best location for a quiet and restful weekend. No A/C only ceiling fans but box fans for windows probably will help. Bring your own internet.

Nice secluded, relaxing hideaway.

Great experience overall. This lovely cabin was easy to find and our contact was very responsive. We were comfortable during our stay, and had plenty of space to relax and be together. We particularly enjoyed hearing the stream while having drinks on the back deck.

Lovely Cabin

My wife and I stayed at this location for 3 weeks recently. On the negative side, the directions were a bit off. Do not turn at the first Bamboo but wait until the second Bamboo. After that it's fairly straight forward. Once you turn left onto Milnor Path, it's going to get pretty steep but don't fear you can do it. It's the second drive on the right. The cabin is worth the climb. Also, make sure the provided key/lock combination is correct. Fortunately, someone happened to be at the cabin and got the key for us. The folks were very helpful. The Home is secluded and, overall, is well maintained and will provide a most pleasant and relaxing experience. The two decks provide a great view of the surrounding woods and the bold creek presents a delightful auditory and thoroughly relaxing experience. The cabin is well equipped but you may want to bring some of your favorite kitchen pots and such. The home is large enough to adequately serve six persons without constantly bumping into each other but the stairs could present an challenge for those who may be tested by transitioning from bedroom to main floor via the stairs. Remember it's actually 3 stories... The two main bedrooms on the lower floor are insulated so that sounds from other parts of the home are prevented from being heard once you are down stairs. If you leave the bedroom doors opened, you will only be accompanied by the sounds of the stream and possible snoring of those around you. The fireplace works well and is adequate for taking the chill off of a cool mountain morning. Conversely and although it was quite warm in Boone, the home never got above 80 during the day but quickly cooled to blanket temps after sunset. For those of us from Florida, it's the primary summer time objective! It's close to Boone and shopping but you may prefer to stock up and just stay put! We have rented cabins for many years in the NC mountains and most are just that...a cabin. This restful residence is really has a "you're at home" feel and will enhance your Boone experience. So happy we found it! Al and Janice Blair Lakeland, Fl.

Cozy cabin, off the beaten path!

Very comfortable, clean and spacious cabin--when you find it! It's a little out of the way, but such beautiful scenery when you're there! (Might want to bring snacks and drinks if you're not planning on cooking---you can't just run out and get something.) Decor is cute, and we had more than enough space for a family of five. My kids loved the loft! We could hear a stream, but couldn't find it. :( No Wi-Fi, but that was actually kinda nice for everyone to NOT be on their devices all weekend ;) We played UNO and really spent some family time together! Rental agent answered my questions quickly and efficiently. Overall a really good trip. My mother in law asked before we left if we could rent the same place next time!

Weekend getaway/reunion

Cozy cabin just like the pictures show. Secluded and not far from Boone or the Blue Ridge at all! The drive way is gravel and is steep. We did NOT have 4-wheel drive and made it up and back down a few times in the rain. The two bedrooms are on the bottom floor and there is a loft on the top floor. The unit does have one TV located in the loft. Also, there is one shower on the main floor. We were only there for two nights and had a good time!

Nice cabin with lots of room!

The cabin was easy to find, feels secluded but is pretty close to Boone and Blowing Rock and is 5 minutes or less off the Parkway. The cabin is exactly as described and the pictures are pretty much exact. A few things you can't see from the pictures, the driveway is gravel and steep for some cars. We had a mini van and wish we had brought our truck. The cabin is 3 levels. Stairs connect the levels- 2 sets each level 7 stairs each set. Den,kitchen, full bath with shower and nice deck on entry level. Both bedrooms and full bath with tub downstairs, nice deck off both bedrooms. Top level is extra den with futon and several chairs and the only TV. Would have been great to have even a small TV in the den/kitchen area or one of the bedrooms. Our only complaint was the beds were much firmer than we were used to, but a quick trip to Belk for a 2 inch mattress topper fixed that! The cabin was well furnished with essentials for food preparation and serving. Never found the toaster so it might need to be replaced. Was nice to have a good washer and dryer. We really loved all the deck space ! Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again.
