A Trip that Exceeded Expectations
Property lived up to the great reviews it has received. A home away from home. Upon arrival, immediately felt very fortunate to have this place come available for our trip.
Loved sitting on back deck and BBQing after a day of hiking. Interior was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. We cooked all our meals in well equipped kitchen that had an abundance of pots/pans/foil/utensils/seasonings etc...Usually bring my French press along but ran out of room and was surprised to find one at the cottage. Not as many food options on the East side of the park so glad we stocked up in Kalispell prior to arriving. There are a couple of restaurants/general stores within walking distance.
Hosts were very friendly and responsive. Marty who oversees upkeep of property was very knowledgeable on hiking options. On first night Hosts delivered a 47" smart TV that we enjoyed using our streaming subscriptions through.
Was about 45 minutes to St Mary's park entrance and 1 hour to Many Glacier entrance. Did Iceberg Lake and Grinnell Glacier hikes from Many Glacier and Avalanche, St Mary's/Virginia Falls from St Mary's entrance. Planned this trip for end of September to avoid crowds and see fall colors. Fall colors were amazing and the only problem we had with crowds was at the Logan Pass Visitors center for parking as we wanted to do the Highline and Hidden Lake hikes so did Avalanche Lake instead and weren't disappointed.
