Beautiful location, very private and quiet area. Cabin was small but well equipped and worked well for our party of four. It is rustic, but clean and comfortable. Property manager was very responsive and we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.

Great visit!

We really enjoyed our 5-night stay at rustic charm. It was just as pictured, cozy and clean. Loved the fireplace and the hosts offered so many extras- toilet paper, Kleenex, Scott towel, Dawn and coffee pods. Views were amazing and we loved the fire pit! We enjoyed the peak week of color change and warm enough weather for a scenic boat tour. It was a perfect trip!!

Peaceful & Relaxing

It was so relaxing to be at Rustic Charm in a quiet and private atmosphere. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having coffee right at the lake was incredible. It was clean and stocked with all the basics and kitchen utensils needed. Great area for biking and kayaking. I hope to return again!

Beautiful view

Cozy cabin with a beautiful view. Maybe 30-40 yards from the water. Beds were comfy and the place was clean. I only wish there was a washer/dryer, but we survived okay without it.

Gorgeous Property

If you are looking for quiet & beauty, this place is for you. The view of Lake Michigan from the living area is so peaceful. Being on the "quiet side" of Door County is just what we were looking for. The cottage is clean and adorable. We had a couple of snafus, but the property manager handled them promptly & with urgency.

Perfect Rustic little cabin

This Cabin is really a gem, 2 smaller bedrooms both have comfortable double beds, large open floor plan of the remaining living space was excellent. The large deck on the back along with the wooded lot gives you that great feeling of seclusion and privacy. Having the lake right out the back door was beautiful! The cabin shows its age a bit with the lighting and power outlets but everything worked and felt safe. Heat and AC must be newer because it regulated the temp to whatever you set it to very quickly. Over all we thoroughly enjoyed this little cabin and wouldn't hesitate to rent it again. Also, it has a new combo washer and dryer that worked well when we needed to do a quick load of laundry. Kris was great to deal with and answered me right away when I had a question. 10/10

Loved our stay!

The cottage was just what we were looking for! It was simple and rustic, but very cute and clean. Compared to other places I've stayed on Lake Michigan it was very private and the view of the lake was really wonderful. The 6 person limit on the number of people staying that the cabin is definitely pushing it - we had 4 people (a couple and two single folks) and any more would have been a lot. It was a great proximity to the state parks, too!

Rustic charm

The rustic charm cabin is exactly as pictured, cozy and rustic. A good size for two people or a small family. Nice secluded location that is a short drive from everything we wanted to do. We appreciated the welcome email with details on what is stocked and recommendations on things to do/places to eat. We loved the fire pit and views of the lake.

Quiet lake stay

The property is great. Very quiet and private. The house was clean and had all you need for a Door County getaway. Beautiful views and convenient to many places on the peninsula. The owner was very responsive to questions. The house is close to a popular kayak launch for kayak tours to Cave Point, so expect to see very frequent groups of kayakers passing by the shore. If you want a clean, private, well kept cabin with beautiful views, sounds of the waves, it's a great place.

Great place on the lake

Nice cozy cottage on the lake. Very clean. Most of the days we were there were windy, but got 1 day we could start a fire outside. Every night we had the fireplace going, but the furnace kept it nice and warm as well. The lake was beautiful with just enough seclusion from the neighbors. It was also about 20-30 min to the busier west coast towns, which worked out fine We would stay there again.

Peaceful Getaway!

We love Door County and were very pleased that we found this place! The description and pictures of the property are accurate, so if you are a five-star resort person, this property isn't for you. It is rustic; it is charming; and it is peaceful. The cabin was in the perfect location for us! Being right on the water, we enjoyed watching the sun rise on a very foggy morning and the sun rise on a less foggy morning. Door County north of Sturgeon Bay is really not that big. We spent time on both sides of the peninsula each day and got to know the a number of county roads that crisscrossed the peninsula. There was much more traffic and many more people on the west side of the peninsula, so it was nice to begin and end our day on the more quiet side. We brought our bikes and rode them from the cabin through Cave Point County Park to Whitefish Dunes State Park one morning. Peninsula State Park and Newport State Park were between 25 - 35 minute drive away, so it was quick and easy to pack up our bike and head out for the day to take advantage of the trails at both those parks. A couple of things to note: The cabin can sleep 6, but unless you are outside, the actual living space is not very big, especially if the couch would be folded out to a bed. I think it would be manageable for a family with kids, but if it were 6 adults, it would be tight. I was a little thrown by the various things the kitchen was (or wasn't) equipped with. We made a few meals at the cabin and I was surprised that there wasn't a set of dry measuring cups or measuring spoons. These are typically things we find at most rentals, so I hadn't brought any. However, there were unexpected items like an electric kettle for heating water, an electric frying pan, a crockpot and a set of knives that were actually sharp and cut things (which was exciting because that is something we rarely run across in rentals!).

Ideal location, property but not so ideal inside

The cabin itself and location is outstanding. What isn't great is how it is managed and cleaned. Upon arrival I found that the bathroom rugs/mats/shower curtain smelled like mold (and I don't mean the Wisconsin wood cabin musty smell - true gross mold.) And I found dried old blood stains on the bed duvet. Both of these finds grossed me out and made me wonder on the overall cleanliness of all things in the cabin. I also, like so many others, couldn't light the gas fireplace. I contacted the owner who was very defensive and unkind about it (like in most of the reviews.) She gave me incorrect instructions over text and then put me in touch with 'a friend' who had stayed there prior to me who tried to talk me through it on the phone. The written, text and verbal instructions did not get the fireplace working for my stay. And worse yet, the owner never checked back with me. I think this is a great property which is suffering from a very absent and remote manager and not worth what she is charging for it.

Quiet, relaxing, and beautiful cabin in the woods on Lake Michigan

This rustic cabin was the perfect place for our family to unwind and have fun in Door County. Our favorite things about the cabin included the privacy, water views and lake access, location in a beautiful neighborhood and close to other "hot" spots in Door County. We appreciated the cleanliness and simplicity of the cabin, and that it was stocked with what we needed to cook and grill. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunrises, grilling, kayaking from the beach, bike rides to Cave Point, swimming at Whitefish Dunes, and fires in the evening. Our family of four felt at home here, and it was hard to say goodbye. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven in Door County with us!
